You get more time in jail for sea cucumbers than dragging a person to their death.
This country is such a fucking joke
And save you’re breathe about this guy being a chronic offender etc. poaching fish ain’t the same as murder, as heinous violent crime, etc. no matter how often you’ve done it.
Guy got more time than, the guy who beheaded buddy on the bus, the two students that drug the guy to death, violent sexual predators with a history of sexual violence, I don’t think I need to continue.
Does he get more time than the Lapu Lapu killer? I’d say it’s 50/50 at this point
At least Trudeau and Co backed the murder of 60,000 people prior to acknowledging they are a legitimate state and further hampering trade talks, well done.

A 29 year old innocent man’s life is worth the same as sea cucumbers.
A few days ago in Kelowna traffic, a dude wearing an ankle monitor walked by on the median in traffic by the mall and gestured at me with the big ass knife and was yelling at other cars... I even got a pic, but I'm moving and can't find my fucking cord to get the pic off my fucking phone!

Tariffs are going to hit us hard and this is wild...
Quote:
The internet collectively groaned at Trump's new order.
Dan Kelly, president and CEO of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, wrote on X, "The hike in US tariffs to 35% will harm small businesses on both sides of the border. The fentanyl rationale is even more ridiculous than the decision itself."
"The worst outcome for Canada is a bad deal. But the second worst outcome is ongoing uncertainty over Canada-US trade. This is what small business owners now face," Kelly said.
Scott Lincicome, vice president of general economics at the Cato Institute, simply reacted, "oof."
"Hard to pick just one, but I think the Iraq 35% is my personal favorite. Venezuela at a mere 15% is also particularly silly. And Switzerland at 39% is just wild," Lincicome wrote in a separate post.
Joey Politano, author of the "Apricitas Economics" newsletter, wrote on X: "Here's what Trump's new tariff hikes look like—another 5% on major allies like the EU, Japan, & South Korea. Another 10% on large trading partners like India, Vietnam, & Canada. Some rather insane choices like 39% tariffs on Switzerland, 41% on Syria, and of course 50% on Brazil."
Shane Wright, national economics correspondent for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, noted on X that the tariffs were. deemed necessary as trade deficits are an "unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and economy."
"Yet for those countries the US runs a trade surplus with, get hit with a 10% tariff. It's simply a tax on US consumers," said Wright.
The Republicans against Trump account, meanwhile, mocked Trump over the tariffs. "Make inflation great again!"
Apparently the 35% tariff only applies to non-CUSMA compliant goods? I've heard as much as 95% of goods fall under CUSMA but haven't looked to confirm what the real number is.
Congratulations to Carney on making so many concessions with the US without actually achieving anything.
He couldn't even secure an extension like Mexico received.
All of the issues that Trump has brought up with Canada are the same issues that existed under the Biden administration. The liberals inability to address legitimate concerns from the US have ultimately led to this tariff.
Give it another 3 weeks and it'll be extended. We don't call him TACO for nothing.
Who cares really at this point. We still got a full 3.5 yrs to deal with.

Really? I thought the CUSMA was just on auto related parts & cars.
So why are we fretting over the 5%? But lumber and steel are big, I suppose.

Most goods are eligible to be CUSMA compliant.
Many exporters hadn't bothered to file the paperwork to be CUSMA compliant because under the last administration, the tariffs were basically nil or charged at a very low percentage.
While most goods are eligible to become CUSMA compliant, let's not forget that we'd only have < 12 months before CUSMA runs out.
I am not Trump, and I can't reasonably guess what crazy ideas pop out of his head. But all the evidence so far continues to suggest that he still thinks Canada is a lightweight country he can bully around and bend to his will. So the next round of CUSMA negotiations is not going to be easy at all, and he is going to direct his CUSMA negotiator lackey (Licknut?) to drive a hard and unfair bargain.
If this kind of BS happens to me on a personal level, I'd honestly rather take the financial hit and not bother with dicks like Trump. Let it be a lose-lose situation, and I will just ride out the hard times on my own. But on a national level, I can't expect everybody to just grit their teeth and hunker down. And most annoyingly, I know there are people who would rather take an unfair deal instead of just standing their ground and let things fall apart.

I dunno why anyone thinks appeasement would work. The best known historical example is UK's Chamberlain trying to appease Hitler. And look where that got us.
If you think the US doesn't need our lumber, steel, or aluminum, you are either completely out of touch with reality, or you are on Trump's payroll like Kevin O'Leary is. The BS Trump tariff treats have been going on for so long that all kinds of news and documentaries have shown us how much the US needs our Canadian exports.
Yes, we will feel more pain than the US simply bcos we are a smaller country (economically). But the US will suffer some heavy blows as well. Like I was saying earlier, it's a lose-lose situation if the Canada-US trade negotations fall apart.

What issues would those be? Non-existant fentanyl threat? A "Trade deficit" ?
I'd tell you to shut your goddamn mouth but I don't know if that's physically possible with Trump's micro-penis between your teeth

Wow, bro. Its actually Carney who is licking Trump's boots right now. The liberals are completely useless.
The Office of the US Trade Representative lists the unfair trade practices it claims Canada engages in, starting on page 57:
The list is from the Biden administration. Same issues that Trump brought up. So the liberals had over half a decade to address this and it took the threat of a tariff for them to take any action at the expense of our economy. Pathetic.
