It is considered disrespectful to display Christmas decorations and promote Christmas prior to November 11th. Last night, Leafs were honouring living WW2 vets and Cherry was set to do his anual Remembrance Day poppy drive to remember the sacrafices of those who served. CBC aired multiple ads, including one directly prior to Coach's Corner, for a Christmas bakeoff special. Not a big offense, but I assumed their would've been at least a few eyebrows raised over it. Yet this is what I wake up to?! Another weak attempt to paint Cherry as a racist and attempt to cancel him by construing his words in the worst possible way?

I don't have a twitter account or any of those social media shitshow apps, but fucking hell, people, stop being so fucking retarded. I mean, this world has gone to hell. Shut the FUCK UP, snowflakes. Instead of spewing shit to get followers, do something productive. MAKE A FUCKING DIFFERENCE IN THIS WORLD!!!
Now, I don't like Don Cherry that much, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. Maybe people are so starved for something to take up a cause for, but for fucks sakes, grow up.
I don't like to use the phrase, because it has little to no real meaning, but "get a fucking life!!!!!!!!!!"
Eduardo Razo...................... nuff said.

While I don't find his comment that appalling, there is definitely some dog whistling there, and as a person who is broadcasting on a nationally televised and government owned network, he should be careful of his comments.
Look, did he need to dog whistle and say you "people that come here"? Why blame immigrants for that, stating they benefit of the "milk and honey", as if this country hasn't benefited from the same immigrants?
Let's be real here too, I see tons of Canadian born "white" folks that don't even bother wearing poppies nowadays. I'm born here myself, and I'm guilty of it. Heck even in business, I very rarely see younger folks in my age demographic (early 30's) rocking the poppy, from my observations in business it tends to be older folks that do, which makes sense.
This isn't an immigrant issue, it's a generational issue. The younger generation whether Canadian born or not simply don't have as much of an affinity to the subject as folks from Mr. Cherry's generation, that's a simple fact.
Whether we agree with that or not is a different story, but to lay that on people who "come here to take advantage of the country" seems somewhat out of touch, based on his "walks through Toronto".
Definitely not saying cancel Don Cherry, he's a national icon, however he should also be cognizant of his words on such a platform.
He's had many chances man, one too many at this point. The comment was stupid on his part, that one was a bridge too far. Not only that, it's the CBC, a government owned network can't sanction that type of rhetoric on prime time television. It is what it is.

He’s employed by Rogers, not CBC, and they could’ve fired him tomorrow. It’s a garbage move to do it today on so many levels.
