One of the best highlights of this game was Petey's one timer on the power play:
Bo knows shootouts!

Hughes gives JT Miller a boost to catch Oshie...
Seen a few players try this without much effect, but first time I've seen it work.

Might explain why the Leafs big RFA's squeezed the team for all they could.

plenty of stories coming out now. i think the results of his firing are more important than the stories but they sure shed some light on how players really see him.

There was also mention about him needing waivers again had he stayed past Dec 2. But you gotta at least think his time as a Canuck is over. He was given a chance (small sample size aside) and didn't make much of an impact at all. Was he the worst player in those games he played? Probably not but he didn't make the team any better.
As much as I'd like Goldy to prove everyone wrong, history tells us he won't. Likely, it'll be the usual give him a chance, he won't produce much of anything, get demoted to bottom 6, back to minors. Would love for him to prove us all wrong because that means we could perhaps fetch something for him in a trade.

Problem is we have no puck handlers. Sedins were great at it. Burrows. They can have the puck on their stick.
Miller as good he's been, he's not very good handling the puck.
Horvat same.
Aside from Petey, Boeser, and Hughes, there aren't a lot of options.
Goldy can at least play with the puck and slow the play down.

as usual, the hope is his offensive prowess makes up for his defensive liabilities. maybe he's worked more on his two way game in the minors.. let's hope so.
