i remember watching game 7 v hawks by myself in my condo and had so much built up angst during that game / OT that when he scored i went on my balcony and just started screaming / swearing out of pure joy.
by far the best moment of my sports fandom life.. followed by a close second being up 2-0 in the SCF and having Rome -TKO- big bad Horton to the point his arm was raised stiff on a 45.. that was the absolute pinnacle of being a Canucks fan for me.. all downhill since then..
great job on that replay review to kill the sens' momentum. they did a better job playing with a lead tonight but still shaky and casual at times. work in progress!
Marc Crawford put on leave by Blackhawks because of past abuse allegations as coach of LA Kings.
Johan Franzen adds stories of Babcock's abusive coaching tactics. Guess what troubles me is that Babcock is an advocate for Mental Health, Bell Let's Talk and he didn't realize his tactics was causing exactly the thing that he wanted to help and support. https://www.tsn.ca/report-former-det...cock-1.1407213
the more you hear about babcock, the more clear it becomes that he just doesn't care about how he treats people. i don't believe for a second that he didn't believe his actions would have a negative impact on the people he treated like shit. franzen even mentions babcock treating cleaning staff like shit in his comments.
basically everything commodore has been saying for years now is finally being confirmed by multiple, legitimate sources. I have to say, I love that it's happening. Coaches (and anyone really) who treat others like shit need to be called out. it's not okay to just let it go when you're a person in a position of power like this.

Harold Druken has also come out to confirm what Brent Sopel said about Mark Crawford.
He said he wouldn't let Crawford coach his dog, and that Crawford was the worse human being he's ever met.
Some of the stuff he did is definitely a no go in today's NHL. Some of the verbal abuse included calling Druken a Newfie and sending him back to Newfie on a boat.

This is a good article about Babcock's reputation going down the toilet.
Unfortunately, our beloved Canucks team was not immune to having coaches with bad reputations behind the bench.
Remember Mike Keenan? Iron Mike treated Linden like shit because he wanted his good buddy Messier to become the team captain.
That piece of shit berated Linden in front of the team.
-interesting story about Keenan's time with the St. Louis Blues:
In one instance while the Blues were playing the Buffalo Sabres at The Aud, Dale Hawerchuk's dying grandmother, who lived in nearby Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, came to see him play one last time while she was alive. Keenan deliberately benched Hawerchuk for the game, and an unhappy captain Brett Hull screamed at Keenan, who then responded by stripping Hull's captaincy."

Article from 1995. Seems like it's inline with what was mentioned.
Quote:
Keenan abruptly removed Hull as captain Monday and appointed Shayne Corson to the role. Hull had been captain more than three seasons.
"He's just a hockey player now," Keenan said.
After a 5-2 loss to Buffalo on Sunday, Keenan said Hull "took the night off." Hull responded by lashing out at Keenan for cutting his ice time, for benching Dale Hawerchuk with his parents in attendance in Buffalo, and for not taking responsibility for his decisions and blaming others for the team's lackluster 3-4-1 record.

I feel the same as Cory. I look back at that team am still have such fond memories of it all. It brought such happiness to my dull evening shift life back then haha.
For anybody with the Athletic, this is a good read. Of all coaches that you'd think would have skeletons, Torta comes out mostly unscathed with interviews from former players: https://theathletic.com/1431313/2019...shared-article

Tortorella doesn’t play mind games, Stepan said, because he confronts issues head-on. In other words, he wouldn’t ask a rookie for a list; he keeps his own.
Goes to show you can be tough but not abusive
