Don't act stupid in public if you don't want to be all over the internet. If she acts like this in public imagine how she act at home.
It's sad what happens to immigrants and people in the service industry. I always tell my employees not to take shit.
Her point was that some bystander with a camera shouldn't be the one deciding how an incident is handled. The person(s) on the receiving end should have a say in how things proceed. What if all they wanted was a simple apology rather than seeing this woman publicly shamed, potentially fired from her job, her children bullied, and family harrassed until the mob finds another target?
What happened to the concept of turning the other cheek, or being the better person? Sure there is a discussion to be had over racism and how people treat each other. Cancel culture doesn't drive those conversations or provide real opportunities to learn and improve. If anything, its more likely to marginalize and push people down the rabbit hole to more extreme views.
oh man, i'm so glad that I have learned to control my temper and be calm in situations like this. back in the day, I would just go off for the slightnest neg.
Though, that was back in college, now that i'm late 30's I feel like I have a better grasp on my emotions.

If you don't want to be filmed you can always wear a burka. You can turn the other cheek but I don't want to be a door mat. Also why is it always the minority that has to turn the other cheek? The one who should have turned the cheek is the lady screaming and yelling in the video.

So yesterday I was at Lansdowne and a store was giving out really good candies for the kids and had a huge lineup... this middle eastern lady just waltzes past the entire line with her kids up to the front to get candy and a guy in the lineup called her out, she went totally berzerk and screamed and swore (in front of her kids and everyone else's kids!) at the guy who called her out, then she went into the store and screamed at the employee "Are you not going to give me the candies if I don't line up????" and then the guy in the store said no, he won't give her any candy if she doesn't line up and she she came out of the store again and said "I am not going to line up for these fucking candies! I am going to call the police if you don't give me the candy it says you have candy and you don't give it to me you are being prejudiced!!!!"
She then went on to continue swearing and yelling at the employee in the store, calling him all sorts of names and saying derogatory things about being an employee in a mall store... several people had their phones out and were recording her while this went on.
Somehow it didn't end up on social media? Funny that. I guess it's only cool to hate when white people go crazy lol

It's crazy how all these things happen to you but you never seem to have a phone/camera on you to record it.

A Georgia sheriff’s office employee was fired Wednesday after cellphone video surfaced of the man confronting a Spanish-speaking woman inside a Savannah McDonald’s.
..
tells the 19-year-old woman and her friends to “speak English.” He also suggested the woman came to the United States on a boat.

It's pretty simple really.
1) I'm of an age where my first thought isn't to pull my phone out and record everything. It's in my pocket, not out in my hand constantly like a lot of people.
2) I feel no need to record other people's actions and I would have nothing to do with said footage as I don't believe in outing people/ruining someone's life for likes and personal fame and I definitely don't believe in online shaming of individuals. I have no social media to post to, I have no IG, no Snapchat... I have no desire to be YouTube famous or sell clips to the media... call me a relic if you want but that's up to you. Why do I need to record the interaction?
3) Out of the, oh I don't know, 50-60 people in the lineup... approximately 3 people had their phones out to record it. That's a pretty low percentage and appears I'm in the majority that chooses not to participate in such actions.
Then again, I went to Auschwitz in Poland once for a tour and never dared to even take a single photo or video out of respect for all the human suffering, perhaps I feel the same way when I see someone having a mental breakdown in front of me? Lots of other tourists seemed to enjoy making videos of the gas chambers and talking loudly despite the signs calling for silence and respect.

You must be one of those people that goes to concerts, hockey games etc that always whips out their phone to record every little mildly entertaining aspect of their lives instead of viewing it in the moment? Out of all the cool shit I did in my life never once did I wish I had it saved on some little electronic device.

The last time I went to a hockey game it was to watch my nephew play and the camera on my phone not that great. I just find it funny he has all these stories about crazy things happening but never seems to record them.

Full size chocolate bars, not mini ones!
I said 2 crazy events that happened around me in this thread... 1 last night... and 1 was almost 2 years ago in Aberdeen parkade.
I don't think that's an unreasonable number of things to occur to one person who goes out pretty much every day and commutes back and forth on the Canada Line to downtown while living in a BIG city like Richmond

You need to whip that camera out so you can make that youtube money.

I really wish someone would post their video of that, because it sounds like something someone would make up or at least embellish quite a bit
(not saying you're doing that, just saying it sounds so ridiculous I can hardly imagine it)
(PS if you really want to see non white people freaking out, go to reddit publicfreakout, there's tons of them there. The "white people are being singled out/picked on" thing is only in your head)
(PSS I think white people do make the best public freakout videos though. So most of the top posts will be white people )
