Agh I gotta do the Duffy one of these days. It was fun even in a truck, never done it in one of my cars.

It's great right now with not many cars on the road. I havent seen Duffy lake itself frozen before like it is so that's a bonus too. Still some snow on the side of the road around that area though and not much shoulder space throughout the drive, so with that and all the parks/parking lots closed off, dont expect to have many pit stop options along the way until things open up again.

How is the road from pemberton to lillooet? Would a low car get wrecked on this stretch of road?

It’s an alright drive, but there are always rocks in the canyon section, so I can never fully commit to a corner

thought it was pretty meh group drive first time, tried it again in the other direction in solo in a 2-seater top down and still feels overrated...maybe more fun on a motorcycle?

you commit a full day but maybe only 1.5h of it is fun; doesn't wow often in the scenic dept neither

We're talking about the same road? Duffey is a great road as long as you get there before the RV's.

Really!? I tend to go on quite a few road trips, up and down the coast often and through the western national parks (Cascades, Yosemite, Zion, Redwoods, Sequoia, etc.) in the States and the Duffy lake loop is still up there for both driving and view points (bonus points since it's our backyard). Please share if you know of something better locally.

first time i started at 5am so traffic wasn't the reason

dont want to go too far off-topic because i already covered this several times in other threads, in BC i prefer the island but still haven't been up to smithers/prince rupert or anywhere close to alaska

you've knocked out a few good ones: zion to moab through capitol reef is up there...can't go wrong with the byways designated as all-american roads

my favourite in the region for hours of hairpins and sweepers is the nw passage in idaho from lolo pass to lewiston. it's done after an overnighter but you know it's a good time when you're focused on the downshifts and steering and come back without a single photo after the drive

The island has some great roads. Going west of Campbell River as nothing but snaking roads through lakes with great banked turns

Nice, how was the roads around Joffre Lake? Some friends went a couple of weeks ago and said there was a lot of loose gravel.

Spent the day giving bae a nice wash and detailing.

Cleaning & detailing the engine bay. Her b18c5 transplant has been well maintained over these decades. The Comptech header might need a bit of polishing.
