So they are "encouraging" the use of masks

Have fun when the second wave hits

MarkyMark 05-06-2020 03:36 PM

Masks were never going to be mandatory as soon as you left the house. Let's see how the numbers go with this slow reopening.

SkinnyPupp 05-06-2020 03:40 PM

It may be enough as long as the borders are kept strictly closed, especially visitors from US and China

Just realize that relaxed guidelines simply means that the province is confident in its capacity to take on new patients, it doesn't mean its any more safe.

That's exactly what it means. The goal was always to "flatten the curve" not "eliminate the virus"

And it will be like that forever, unless a true vaccine comes out, or if this doesn't end up mutating into a seasonal flu-like virus

Time to get complacent af

They really need to emphasize the need for physical distancing, hand-washing, PPE, not sharing food/drinks, etc. to go along with this.

whitev70r 05-06-2020 05:06 PM

^ they did.

With the new guidelines to reopening.
I think I'm going to ride May out and see how it goes in June.

GS8 05-06-2020 06:23 PM

Not sure if coincidence but my condo saw a record number of moves in April. Normally they would specify if it was a move-in or move-out. They didn't. I will add that none of the suites with moves were repeated (to show a move-out followed by a move-in).

Also the number of noise complaints is through the roof :lol

wonder how many international students said fuck it i'm stay in Canada and its free healthcare system.

anywhere else in this globe, they're gonna fuck you hard for being sick and ask you to sell you're house to pay for it.

Umm hardly anywhere else in the world besides US does this. even if healthcare is not universal, it’s affordable in many countries especially for families with means to send their kids to Canada.

Yeah mine tidied up the back for me but I just went to town with one of those Conair dual blade trimmers. Not too bad and I’ll probably keep using it to save money on barbers. Now I just need to find some hair clippers they’re sold out everywhere!

I hope it stays closed for long.
My new job is US based and my manager's down there. He said because of this incident, we'll have to make do with remote training, otherwise, he would like me to come down to the states for a week for in-person training.

China's pretty much case free atm. Most of my Chinese friends alaready left Canada to come back to China and a hand full of my Canadian friends are looking for ways to come back to China in the next while Canada is opening up. Unfortunately China isn't issuing Visas atm.

If there's going to be another breakout, it'll come out of china though. The people are definitely careful, but just based on the sheer numbers. And the fact that if it does happen, they'll try to hide it as long as they can, allowing people to travel during that time.

Going to China right now is such a bad, bad idea right now. Especially your Canadian friends, wtf?

ImportPsycho 05-07-2020 09:01 AM

with only couple of weeks till summer break, why even bother opening school in June?

westopher 05-07-2020 10:58 AM

So people can get back to work. The amount of people who have no choice but to stay home because of kids is big.
If they allow school back it opens the doors for child care too

SSM_DC5 05-07-2020 11:53 AM

Heard on the news a few times already that kids of essential workers have already been going to school.

Opening before June gives a quick, short trial and opportunity for feedback. They then have the summer to plan and improve for the next school year.
