Correct

And?

westopher 10-31-2020 04:27 PM

So London has 21000 new cases today and Toronto has maybe 700. What’s the angle here? Are you trying to say how well Canada is doing in comparison or what’s the relation of your population density comparison?
I’m also not looking to just argue with you Honda. You’re one of the people here who while I don’t always agree with I appreciate discussion with you, as you always seem receptive to the conversation from either angle, but I’m just not picking up what your putting down.

It's safe to say life is going to suck until a proven vaccine and father time have worked it's way through this. Till then just wear a mask, be responsible and let's avoid shutting things down more than they already are.

Hondaracer 10-31-2020 05:01 PM

Just that a metro area with 9 million people, you aren’t getting away from people. Outside of Hyde park there is almost no where to “escape” to in London. Metro areas where no one has a car and you’re packed in like sardines what else are you going to do but interact with other people

I have more parks and public space around my place in east van than you can find in a 4 hour walk in London. My point being in that metro areas with incredibly dense populations you can’t escape human interaction

spoon.ek9 10-31-2020 05:14 PM

See, THIS is what the world needs more of. Even if we don't necessarily agree with each other's viewpoints, it's an actual discussion being carried out with mutual respect and an honest effort in trying to understand alternative views while trying to achieve a common goal for the greater good. Seems like politicians could learn a few things from the people here.

underscore 10-31-2020 07:18 PM

London in particular also has a lot more reliance on public transit, this is one of the few times that Canadian cities having garbage transit systems is a good thing

westopher 10-31-2020 10:50 PM

Got off work at 11 tonight DT. Holy fuck. People everywhere. A group of 20-30 waiting outside the liquor store to get in, groups of 10 or more walking into condo buildings in yaletown. Lets see what 1-2 weeks are looking like. We are going to look like Ontario in no time.

BlackV62K2 10-31-2020 11:21 PM

Wtf are people doing on Granville St when bars and restaurants stop serving after 10pm. Looks more busy than pre covid long weekends or holidays celebration from.the pics/videos I saw. Ffs

StylinRed 10-31-2020 11:23 PM

They're not even in costume...

HonestTea 10-31-2020 11:28 PM

Ugh...we are so fucked in two weeks.

Alpine 10-31-2020 11:45 PM

I hate to say it, but we're all old farts lol. We've all been there before when we've felt invincible and didn't care about repercussions. The biggest issue is that the virus isn't much of a deterrent when it only sidelines this crowd for a few days. It's treated like the bad flu. The only way they would voluntarily change their approach is if friends in their circles started dropping like flies (I don't wish harm to anyone).

I'm in Coquitlam now and it felt almost like any other Halloween. Lots of families with kids trick or treating and the usual groups of high school kids hanging around.

visit taiwan sometimes

up to 30,000 people in km^2 and they got covid under control

Hondaracer 11-01-2020 07:40 AM

This is all you need to know about Taiwan:

Was having this discussion last night with friends. It’s far easier to develop an effective message and trust people will listen when you only have to communicate to one group.

This is also a big reason why Sweden thought they could take the approach they did to their lockdowns because while they obviously have much more diversity than Taiwan Swedes in general, as do much of the Nordic countries, trust their governments and listen to their orders, it’s in their culture/nature.

A place like London Caucasian’s of European descent only make up 50-55% of the population of 9 million while the remaining half are hundreds of different ethnicities.

Don’t underestimate the need to convey an effective message to different groups. Trudeau can keep telling the English and French speaking, news watching viewers that “this sucks” etc. But there seems to be very little in the way of speaking to smaller cultural groups. Albeit from the looks of those haloween parties in Granville it’s white people and then your buddy guys who aren’t listening and that likely loops back to people being too dumb to understand

twitchyzero 11-01-2020 11:43 AM

my point was density doesnt play a huge role..if it did india would've probably been screwed way earlier on but it didn't spread like wildfire immediately

i was on the train once in taiwan slurping away my drink..an older gent brought my attention to remind me of the no eating sign and i forgot this is why their system is so spotless; what a drastic departure from when i rememebr there used to be dog shit all over the sidewalks, garbage pickup is dumping on the street, kids be pissing on your tire

it's the kind of concerted effort needed in society to heed the rules

SkinnyPupp 11-01-2020 01:16 PM

Kind of hard to make the point that "all these ethnicities just won't listen" when in Canada and US, it's the white people who aren't fucking listening, and it's the "ethnic" people like Chinese who are KEKW

Saw this lovely group of people in Downtown of Victoria today. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e9e4e5cc92.jpg

What those young bloods did on Granville street on Halloween was selfish and stupid. Although some of them that do get Covid would not die from the virus, what these idiots forget is that Covid that some of them can contract can kill older folks like their parents, grandparents, or just strangers.

If our daily cases keep going up in the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions, I wonder if Dr. Bonnie is going to ask Horgan to impose a lockdown this winter. :suspicious:

Hondaracer 11-02-2020 07:18 AM

Well from the videos there looked to be a lot of “buddy guys” and Turbans in the videos I saw and the irony of that is that a large number of them likely live in multi generational house holds. So take that Granville street covid right back to Grandma

320icar 11-02-2020 07:52 AM

Mi was thinking the same thing, but wasn’t sure if it was just me. From all the videos I saw it was predominantly brown peeps

Churches need to freely gather and Refuse gates DNA altering 666 vaccine :fullofwin:

westopher 11-02-2020 08:52 AM

I wish people could just sign a form. “I waive my right to healthcare and treatment in order to gather freely and refuse public health orders”

320icar 11-02-2020 09:09 AM

“Refuse gates DNA altering 666 vaccine”

Imagine giving away billions of dollars over a life time of philanthropy, only to be chastised in the court of public opinion (by the crazies)

SumAznGuy 11-02-2020 02:12 PM

1120 new cases reported over the weekend.:facepalm::fulloffuck::fulloffuck:
