^ I wouldn't mind a mink coat. But yea recommends 3 layer face masks and quietly admit that it can spread by droplets in the air but nah guys no mandatory face masks. The freedom of rights and privacy in Canada will save you.

What the fuck is wrong with some seniors? Some of them would rather risk getting Covid than be apart from their family. Pissy ass weaklings........ suck it up! There's all kinds of ways you can keep in touch with your family. My family keeps in touch with my mother in law at the care home via zoom, Skype, phone calls combined with seeing her on the other side of the window, etc. Do you not care about the nurses and orderlies that look after you? I don't want my mother in law to be exposed to your family's viruses. FFS........ most seniors, at least the ones I know are not selfish people. They would suck it up and deal with it. It's probably just a handful of vocal seniors saying this shit. It takes all kinds, I guess. /rant.

Just watch more Matlock reruns, gulolol.

For the love of god, I can't remember which RS member said that to me........... "Hey, MG1 (old man), go back to watching Matlock reruns."

god bless

Germany at 20K infections per day now. Not as bad as USA's 100K, but not too far off by ratio (equivalent of 72K)

Japan had 1000 today, up from around 200 per day

Just hoping the Denmark strain doesn't spread yikes

I wanted to rip the radio out of the car when I had new 1130 on for the US election updates and they kept talking about it.
If the seniors are not seeing their kids, I think the issue lies in the kids not visiting.

Yay, that idiot went downtown to speak at a rally and got his ass thrown in jail.

I see a lot of seniors not wearing masks and out and about. I think it's cuz they don't fear death? By the time you get that age nothing much to live for and they know they won't be saved if we run out of respirators?

underscore 11-06-2020 06:57 AM

I imagine it's the same problem as the boomers, they were young during or born after WWII so they don't remember that, and they lived through the Cold War where they were told for decades the world was suddenly going to end at any moment but nothing happened. So when they're told something unseen can kill them they're kinda numb to it.

Doris Day...............

Spoiler!

StylinRed 11-06-2020 01:15 PM

France up to 60k cases a day and almost 40k total deaths! Damn

And ppl are trying to say the US is doing horribly

320icar 11-06-2020 01:24 PM

Watch the US in the long term trend come out on top, diving in head first to mass cases only to fast-track herd immunity. 3 years from now they’ll be the safest place

Took a walk and went to the liquor store at first and renfrew because I needed some day drinks for a walk n tank. Had my mask of course so I go in and as I do there’s a guy kinda tripping out opening the door

He walks in as I’m trying to get passed him and looks at the cashier “uhhh..no mask good?”

The cashier handled it about as best as you could saying “we’d like it if you did but it’s not required”

The guy - “heh ok cool” walks in no mask

Then as I’m paying another woman walks in no mask, looks at the cashier, “no mask is ok??” Continues walking in..

:rukidding:

Was going to go to Whistler for the night tom but decided it’s not the best idea..kind of a catch 22 as I would be going up and spending money at places that probably need it bad and am generally low risk

twitchyzero 11-06-2020 03:09 PM

We're under 10 daily cases so that might be a good idea

When this started I remember thinking if things would be worse here or better... I was right but I didn't think it would be as bad as it is there.

Was trying to be optimistic but looks like you are 100% correct... back to back record breaking and it's gonna get much worse. I'm sure the Halloween partyers haven't kicked in yet.

If you guys have kids and are still on Facebook, the BC school covid tracker group is tracking the school outbreak/exposures Ina single place. Only posting confirmed cases with the official school notices.

My kid's school just had an exposure. :( Kid says no one was away this week in his class. We kept him home from school anyways, gonna give it the weekend to see how it shakes out at his school.

From what I heard from a few other parents, it sounds like quite a few did the same.
