Big White's official statement on monday was:

Resort senior vice-president Michael J Ballingall, tells Castanet, "somewhere around November 28, 2020, somebody had a party that was attended by a massive cross-section of people on the mountain. One of those people who does not work for us has tested positive, subsequently, other people have tested positive."

Need to start hitting the church and every person inside individually. You do that one Sunday I'm pretty sure they'll be closed or conducting service remotely the following week.

-getting tired of reading news about these fuckers partying with 10, 12, 15 etc. of their friends in their condos.

If they're going to get tougher:

Christmas day - "Hi 911, I live at 1234 Fake St. in a 40 floor condo building and just witnessed about 11 people coming in the lobby all at once, none wearing a mask. Was definitely all belonging to the same family as they all were talking and laughing together. Can you send 15 officers to knock door to door for the next 4 hours until you find them? k thanks bye"

Have some phantom calls going on. That'll keep them occupied.

That's what a lot of us have been saying the whole time.

Issuing a fine to the leader of the group isn't going to do much because they can just reach out to everyone else attending to split the fine.

Hit every single person that attends with a fine and now you're getting somewhere. It's like everything in life, change will only happen once you hit them in the bank account.

It's like all those EI weddings out in Surrey. Bride's father pulls out cheque and writes it for a fine of $2,300. If there are 50 guests then they'll just chalk it up as the cost of hosting the party. If you also fine those 50 guests a few hundred dollars then now you'll sway people from attending.

Yoga should be the last place to open ... how is cramming 30 people in a room for an hour together doing long breathing exercises and sweating profusely any better than a house gathering?!

i heard Bonnie's sister owns a Yoga chain, pass it on

Dec 16th Covid-19 Update - Dr. Bonnie Henry says there are 640 new cases, total now of 44,103; 362 (+1) hospitalized of which 91 (-2) are in ICU; 24 additional deaths, total now of 692

Man there’s a lot of deaths compared to our caseload lately.

New enforcement measures are coming into effect as part of British Columbia's crackdown on those who refuse to follow COVID-19 restrictions.

Mike Farnworth, minister of public safety and solicitor general, says in a statement that he has asked gaming investigators, conservation officers, community safety unit inspectors, as well as liquor and cannabis inspectors to support police and increase COVID-19 enforcement.

At this point I'm just waiting for them to coin a term like "special enforcement unit" and talk about going door to door if they have to and watch all the sheep get excited.

Even implying that comparison is fucking despicable.

What a far fucking reach.

I fear that the numbers will only continue to be like that until all the long term care COVID patients die off. They're all immunocompromised already, so it's almost like it's a formality at this point.

My uncle got COVID from the dental conference at the convention centre earlier in the year. My RN cousin (that works at VGH) would go check in on him during her breaks and said he looked really fucking rough and he's only in his mid-50s. Imagine someone that's 20+ years older and it's really fucking grim.

AzNightmare 12-17-2020 02:46 AM

For a good 10 months, all I heard was "people everywhere" are being infected.
It wasn't until last weekend, finally someone that I personally knew caught it.
Just today, one my close friend tells me his mom caught it.

It's getting very real now, even for those who haven't really known anyone personally that's been affected so far..

welfare 12-17-2020 04:40 AM

^^out of curiosity, did she have symptoms? Or just tested positive?
If so, how severe were they?

JDMDreams 12-17-2020 10:09 AM

Few of my co workers caught it, one came to visit yesterday. Apparently she was sneezing as a symptom. So the system sounds super janky cuz they just test you once that you're positive and don't retest after cuz apparently she's probably still positive but not infectious by now??:suspicious::fulloffuck:

CivicBlues 12-17-2020 10:50 AM

Where are all the people you know getting it?

Hondaracer 12-17-2020 10:58 AM

Fuck feel like I’m gonna get it came for lunch to this soup and sandwich place and everyone in here sniffling and coughing.. :speechless:

68style 12-17-2020 11:53 AM

I didn't see anyone talking much about their experience here with testing, so I'll go...

I just went to get tested in Richmond at the drive through testing centre by the airport (5911 North Service Rd if you're interested) and there was nobody there really, just a couple cars in front of me and only 1 lane out of about 8 even open. I've had a dry cough and various other possibly concurring symptoms for a few days... felt it best to just go see or not. I have barely been out except grabbing lunch here and there and 1 trip to the Apple store... but you never know, I do live in a condo building so you're having to touch doors and stuff constantly.

Anyway, they start by confirming why you're there and handing you a slip with a time stamp on it? Not sure why, but later on they do ask you what time it says... maybe they're tracking stats on how long it takes? Second window they ask you for your PHN and your doctor's name and confirm you personal info... Third window they go over your symptoms and confirm your info again and they hand you a sheet with instructions on it for what to do after depending on your results. Fourth window is the actual test.

Important! Don't eat or drink anything whatsoever for ~2 hours before you go or you cannot do the swish/spit test. I didn't know this and I chewed a piece of gum in the car so I had to do the rather unpleasant nasal invasion brain poke.

Side note: I could hear the entire conversation of a car in front of me and it's no mystery why this thing spreads, people are fucking retarded... it went on forever back and forth, this lady in her Audi was like a brick wall and the workers were getting very agitated with her (understandably), it went something like this:

Her: I have a lot of symptoms
Worker: Confirms at least 4 symptoms I heard
Her: My doctor said I should come here to get tested after I saw him yesterday
Worker: Okay after you do the test it can take up to 48 hours for the result, you should go home and isolate until you know your result
Her: But I have an appointment with a client tomorrow for my work
Worker: Okay... but you might have COVID, that's why you're here right?
Her: But I probably don't, my doctor just said to get tested
Worker: You have symptoms that correspond to it, so you should get tested
Her: Okay well I don't want to get tested then, I have my important appointment tomorrow
Worker: But it's possible you have COVID, if you go to your appointment or anywhere and you do have it, you're spreading it to everyone you encounter
Her: ...
Worker: We can't force you to get the test (they should be able to at this point?!?!)
Her: Okay well I won't get it then because I have my appointment tomorrow that I can't miss
Worker: But, again, if you have COVID you are spreading it to everyone you encounter
** These last 6 lines repeated at least another 5 times over and over and over with the workers getting more and more angry at her **
Her: I will come another time (then she drove off)

So, yah, dense ass people like that are the reason we are where we are.................

hud 91gt 12-17-2020 11:57 AM

I had a test maybe 6 months ago with absolutely awful allergy symptoms. They stuck a q tip so far into the back of my brain, it bled for 3 days lol. (My nose).

My work offers tests for personal reasons, so I had a work one done last week. Completely different test with a Q tip only 2 inches long this time. Difference was it was 30 seconds (15 each nostril) vs 10 with the other test. Much more pleasant.

Tapioca 12-17-2020 12:00 PM

The drive-thru testing centres are great and setting up an appointment is very simple. I was in and out in 15 minutes and that included filling out a form. At least getting tested is no longer the chore it was earlier in the spring.

I should have kept my post earlier but here goes.

3 warehouse co-workers had it. 2 lived together and the third carpooled with them. None of the other co-workers who worked directly with them got it.

2 office co-worker's spouses got it. 1 is a teacher.

2 hockey teammates got it. 1 got it from his sister in-law as they lived in the same house. Not sure how she got it.
Other one and his GF got it from yoga as someone with the virus went to hot yoga. Good thing was he worked nights and hasn't come out to hockey in over a month before the shutdown.

These are all the immediate cases that I knew about.

I honestly hope there's some way that testers can plug in people and their license plates into some sort of registry for situations like this.

What a complete fucking selfish moron.

Thanks, if there's one thing we still have too little information of after 9+ months, it's where people are catching it (outside of household, that is). For me I'd just like to keep a mental tally and ask everyone who says they know someone who got it. If anything to just keep away from common risky environments and behaviors.

Also, 68style's story. Who the fuck is still having in person client meetings? Lady needs to get her licence plate taken down and be paid a visit by bylaw officers. Maybe creep her LinkedIn and fine her employer as well :fulloffuck:

I mean, at that point, they already took her PHN and confirmed her name/birthdate/address like 3 times...

I really hope they follow up / call people like this...............

Here's a good one for you guys.

Co-worker decided she had enough, 45+ single and looking.
She took a week off and flew down to San Diego for some sun and who knows what else. Posted half naked bikini pics with the tag #don'tletcovidstopyou. Comes back and gets shit on by CBSA officers who asked her did she know there is a pandemic going on.

So many people who just don't think this virus is that serious. Still hearing people compare this to the flu, that the flu kills just as many people per year as this pandemic, and look at how well Sweden is doing without having to lock down. FailFish

StylinRed 12-17-2020 12:34 PM

I know ppl who are immunocompromised who are taking vacations over christmas/new years because "you gotta live your life" what's even crazier is that some of them are going to places that are under curfews/lockdown and local numbers are sky rocketing
