The people not huffing copium over not getting the Yaris GR understand the hype behind this car. I didn't place a deposit, but I reached out to a sales person I used to work with at a Toyota dealer.

If the spec sheet is as good as anticipated (and the rumored automatic actually being a thing because I'm developing arthritis at 30), then my GTI is gone.

Vernon Toyota put my name down as well, no deposit needed. Penticton left me a message and told me if I put down a deposit I'd be 3rd or 4th. According to them everywhere in the lower mainland is into the double digits. I have no clue how the allocations to the dealers actually work but maybe that's helpful to one of you guys.

Now that I think of it, I don't know anything about buying a new car or buying from a dealer period lol.

I placed a deposit last summer and already wasn't near the top of the wait list, so double digit waitlist now sounds about right. Sure hope they make enough of them...

GR corolla now has become a rally car. GR-Four drive train, manual, and a traditional handle ebrake. I guess it will fill the void that the Ford focus RS left behind.

Sucks he blew his engine and warranty denied but when you track your car, you often waive your rights to any kind of warranty. As the saying goes - only track a car you're willing to write off.

The Field Technical Specialist - what a cow. The engine - RIP. Would be curious to see the ECU data.

Most of the domestic brands will honor warranty at the track in certain situations on their track-oriented models. For Toyota to offer a free track day while marketing the car as "track-ready", is a bit disingenuous.

I should also point out the Gulf States Toyota, where the poster's dealer network is, is owned by a single auto group that is a separate entity from Toyota USA. For example, imagine if Dueck had all control of sales, service, parts, and warranty on GMs in BC and AB, while GM Canada ran the rest of the country. They don't directly communicate, they are a different can of worms, and that FST they sent out is a bootlicker.

I think it was Gulf Toyota that denied it, I wonder if big boss Toyota came in and told them to go fix this and don't let me hear about this again.
