Not the greatest picture, but it left the garage for the first time in a while

@underscore is it just tradition for the rally armour mudflaps not to sit 90° to the road? Both my RS and STi had them and they were never properly straight

I'm not too sure, I think it's because where they mount isn't perpendicular to the body of the car so they end up looking skewed (even though they're actually level) because you're looking at them on an angle. So from directly above/below it's like

/ ----⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀/ ----

\ ----⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀\ ----

where the \ is the flaps and ---- is the tires. You can see it looking into the wheel well too. It's probably easier to keep them straight when you can mount them squarely to the body and not to the wheel well like the old rally cars did, but I didn't want to drill holes in the body.

Spoiler!

Now that I look at it more the spats definitely made it worse too. Ugh.

^ I'm quite jelly. I always wanted one but being LHD it just doesn't make sense for the family needs.

I think I wouldn't have got this if I had kids either as it doesnt have sliding rear doors and less headroom compared to something like an Alphard. Driving RHD on the right isnt too bad once you get used to it

It drives way nicer than the Alphard, 5 gears Vs 4. Alphard has rear solid beam rear suspension? You feel all the bumps on the highway Vs the Odyssey is much smoother. The odyssey has super long gears too so you cruise at like 2000 rpm at 100kmh making it better on gas. Only thing on the Alphard that's better is dual moon roofs and more interior space. The Odyssey is more like a wagon. Plus it has VTEC.

My wife managed to back the car into the garage door (she didn't check to see if the garage door was fully open before backing in).

So in 7 months she's managed to curb 3 of my wheels and do this.

Wow that’s horse shit. That’s an open-and-shut case for either Costco or the delivery company. For nothing to be done until ctv aired the news piece, that’s insulting

^I scrapped my Fiancee front lip twice in a span of 3 days LOL. Moved into an apartment, those concrete blocks are high (Underestimated how high they were, considering Fiancee car is already quite high up with even a lip). Will wait until summer, then I'll touch up paint it up. Oh well, shit happens.

my wife scratched my car 2 times in the parkade already within a month. both times involved a pole... looked at the dash cam footage and damn those parking spots are so tight at her work place, if a suv parks in the middle spot... good luck parking anything else to the left or right.

LOL. My wife did the same thing...
The spoiler on the hatchback took the hit. Basically got knocked loose and some clips broke.

I removed the spoiler completely, realign the clips that were still intact and snap everything back in place. Looks as good as new... a tad bit looser, but LOOKS as good as new..

hmmm

Seems like people are relying on the reverse camera, generally mounted lower it can't see things that's higher up.

How fast does one need to be in order to drive into the door? I press the button on the wall and the door is open before I even get my seat belt on. If I'm coming home, I start opening the door as I roll up and it's open before I even shift into reverse.

i find i keep seeing people just stare at the screen to backup and not even do a 360 check or anything so they don't even see their surroundings.
lots of people rely on it too much.

My wife has certain talents when operating a motor vehicle that normal people like you and I simply can't comprehend. She put a healthy sized dent into the garage door as well so it is every bit as klutzy a move as you might imagine. I still can't imagine how she pulled it off (and I'm still f****** pissed).

See the centre median northbound next to the RAV4 in this street view: https://goo.gl/maps/NghJVG4QEy67uxgk7

My wife managed to drive over it while making a left turn northbound and blew out the front left tire b/c of it.

I need to find her some driving courses.
