Likely with how your operating it. If you run it constantly, but the AC isn’t doing much (lower temperature parts of the day, when it collects less water from the air) it has more chance to drain its tank out the exhaust. If your only use it during the most humid parts of the day it likely collects more then it can get rid of out the exhaust. No idea if true but it makes sense to me. Lol

My ac unit is judging me

This heat can fuck off now and go back to comfortable low 20s

Traum 08-22-2022 10:07 PM

The heat has totally changed in the last few days -- it still gets hot from the afternoon all the way through to early evening, but soon after the sun drops, the temps drop off rather quickly and stay cool enough that it doesn't really get hot again until some time in the afternoon the following day. It's very different from the mid summer heat, and is basically telling us that summer is almost over now. :(

Swimming at the beach is way colder now too, as opposed to earlier in July.

Unfortunately our highrise buildings retain heat like no other so it stays hot af long after sunsets.

Super humid today. Ac working overtime pumping out water. Roughly 1L per hour right now

Same...wtf

Badhobz 08-24-2022 08:09 PM

I don’t get it either. The in-laws have this exact same unit and theirs pumps out zero water while mines the friggin bellagio fountain

House is cool and dry though so I guess whatever it’s doing is working.

my older 14K danby and the dual hose danby I got a few years ago are the same

If you don't have a drain tube hooked up, it evaps and never needs draining

If you attach hose at the middle drain section, it'll drain a fair amount.

inv4zn 08-24-2022 08:43 PM

You probably have a dud, and your blower fan isn't working properly (or at all).

I know it's a hassle but I'd go to Costco and get another one. Try a new one, and if it's the same, then the unit is good and it's just where you live. If there's no water, you have a dud and you should return the old one.

I'm done with summer man. Anyone else feel been feeling a zombie for the past 2 months? I don't know what it is the humidity or the lack of sleep or both getting to me, but I feel constantly tired and have this sweaty/oily sheen on my face like an hour after showering.

This is even with AC and fans pointed at me pretty much anytime I'm at home. I can't sleep with the AC on so I turn it off and let the fans go. I usually wake up in a puddle of sweat by 3 or 4am.

I know last year we had the heat dome but this year the heat even though not as bad just seems relentless and never ending. Many times I anticipate a cloudy day in the weather forecast but when the day finally comes it's still humid AF and still can't sleep.

320icar 08-25-2022 08:42 AM

Nah it’s been amazing. It’s been hot but not unbearable. I’ve actually got to enjoy friends pools this year. And after fall 2021/winter/spring 2022 where it rained ALMOST EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY, no civicblues I can’t agree that I’m done with this nice weather

smoothie. 08-25-2022 08:55 AM

+1 loving summer

the $1.50 a day to run the ac is just fine when it feels like Hawaii for a month.

Badhobz 08-25-2022 09:29 AM

I got that kiddie pool for 30 bucks and this new ac. It isn’t bad at all. Only bad when walking the dogs

Hondaracer 08-25-2022 09:40 AM

I’ve enjoyed it. It is definitely sweatier than the past but I’m already kinda sad to go for a walk in the morning 6 am or so and there’s a chill in the air.

Hopefully the beaches of Croatia still warm in October lol

CivicBlues 08-25-2022 09:42 AM

Yeah I'm actually going to France in October so I'm hoping it's the same as here now temperature wise but much less humid. Plus every where we stay should have a dual unit split AC otherwise I'm going to throw une fite.

I just need some sleep :QQ:

Hondaracer 08-25-2022 09:44 AM

I was having pretty terrible sleeps at the beggining of the summer and didn’t know why. We bought a bed from Costco that wasn’t cheap but turns out it’s way too soft

We tossed the queen sized mattress (also from Costco) that is a tight top firm mattress on top of our new one and my sleep has imroced 10 fold. Pissed off that we are going to have to buy another mattress once again even though this one is only 2 years old and was like $1700 but it’s a night and day difference with the firmer one.

I also can’t bring myself to return a 2 year old mattress after some of the shit I’ve returned in the last couple years lol

westopher 08-25-2022 10:02 AM

Every year I look forward to summer and every year since I moved here it always sucks. Work is too busy to take time off, too many tourists, it’s too hot. There’s always something. Once labour day passes though it’s awesome if it doesn’t switch to rain too early. More time, better weather, cooler nights, things I want to do aren’t as busy, less people on the roads.
11 more days.

GS8 08-25-2022 10:58 AM

Love the weather

Hate that I can't properly enjoy it. Lots of 6 day work weeks for me lately :alone:
