11 more days.

Every year the Tuesday after labour day is when we go camping. [previously] that’s when the online booking stops, kids go back to school, tourists leave, the weather is cooler/fire bans usually off. It’s amazing.

This year they’ve changed how online reservations are done and ‘extended’ the booking window so now it’s going to be much busier post-labour day, but that’s okay I guess..

AND LETS NOT FORGET that the weather has been beautiful, sure a bit muggy but NO HORRENDOUS FOREST FIRE SMOKE. So yeah
I’m in no rush for summer to be over

We tossed the queen sized mattress (also from Costco) that is a tight top firm mattress on top of our new one and my sleep has imroced 10 fold. Pissed off that we are going to have to buy another mattress once again even though this one is only 2 years old and was like $1700 but it’s a night and day difference with the firmer one.

I also can’t bring myself to return a 2 year old mattress after some of the shit I’ve returned in the last couple years lol

Have you tried an Endy? Foam mattress, a bit on the firmer side. I really like it, won't break the bank either.

Hondaracer 08-25-2022 12:32 PM

Yea so friends of ours we stay with have an endy and I really liked it. Will most likely be looking at a bed in a box like that when we do buy.

I think after this experience I don’t need anything fancy I just need firm

inv4zn 08-25-2022 12:40 PM

We have a Douglas bed, and can vouch for that one as well. It's also rated to be on the firmer side.

You sound like a divorced middle aged woman :awwyeah:

I think how you're feeling about summer is largely dependent on your access to quality cooling. It's going to be a significant issue going forward as more and more housing becomes strata across the province.

Strata councils are going to be dealing with a lot of angry neighbours over the coming decades as they will largely deny permission to install proper cooling system retrofits in order to save costs, mitigate noise complaints from neighbours, and minimize liabilities to building envelopes.

Heat kills Covid right? So maybe they’ll be able to leave their buildings once it’s 50 deg for a while

Yes i hope these extreme climate changes will spur on more environmental protection from countries like China and the USA.

But i doubt it though

I feel like China hasn’t cared too much about it’s general public suffering, historically.

SkinnyPupp 08-25-2022 07:42 PM

China does create the most, but they are also doing the most in terms of finding alternative solutions. They are taking it very seriously. Unfortunately it's probably too late to matter, at least too late to go back to where we were 10 years ago. It'll probably get worse for another 10 years, then hopefully we can achieve stasis on that.

So the damn ac was pumping water like a fountain yesterday and today it didn’t produce a single drop after 11am.

What. The. Fuck. Danby.

Do the right thing my ass.

CivicBlues 08-26-2022 07:46 AM

God damn. Just get your wife to yell at it or something.

I can’t tell if your joking or not? Lol

With the rebates right now, you could outfit your house for the price of your wrap.
