Canada has a pretty decent beach volleyball team SeemsGood

whitev70r 07-25-2021 07:49 PM

Michael Woods, Canadian cyclist almost medalled. He was off like a little over a second on a 243 kms race with 4000 ft of elevation! Those athletes are beasts!

whitev70r 07-25-2021 08:09 PM

Women's beach volleyball is THE sport carrying the Summer Olympics! :fullofwin:

I was just going to say that. Watched the game against Germany.

The mens triathlon was beast. I knew it was grueling but just found out the runners pace around 30 minutes for the final 10k run, AFTER the swim and the bike rice. Can barely keep a 30 minute pace for 5 k alone. Truly astounding what they're able to do. Finish was pretty good too with the lone pull-away.

Your able to keep a 15min pace in a 5k? Very impressive.

I don't think I'm well-versed in my pace terminology. 30 mins to run 5k :drunk:. Whatever that works out to be. I don't think thats anything impressive. These guys swam across an ocean and biked stanley park 4X at breakneck speed then ran 10k. Still boggles my mind.

Thomas Daley finally gets his Olympic Gold in diving, edging the Chinese team by a single point. Another intense one right till the end.

HONG KONG WINS GOLD IN FENCING! POGGERS

Second gold medal ever, first was in 1996 for sailing. So first gold for an actual sport! POGGERS

SkinnyPupp 07-26-2021 04:55 AM

3x3 bball is pretty fun to watch. Non stop offense and more physical

Lol my terminology was messed. Perhaps I misread what you said. They were doing 10k in 30 minutes, so I took it you said you could keep that same pace for 5km. Meaning a 15 minute 5k. Which is crazy haha.

Canadian swimming team pretty close to a medal in the men's relay.

Hondaracer 07-26-2021 10:03 AM

Yea time to get rid of the 37 year old lead me thinks..

Good first set win for Bansley and Brandie against Argentina in women’s beach volleyball.

Keep it going in the second set!

Canada wins against Japan in Mens Rugby to advance to the quarter finals. Then immediately we're up against New Zealand. I don't expect that to go well

SkinnyPupp 07-26-2021 09:05 PM

Canada is going for bronze vs Mexico in women's softball right now, up 2-1 in the 5th (7 innings)

I only get US feeds so it's rare that I get to watch Canada or Hong Kong. Only when they are up for a medal, which I guess is a good thing LUL

I've been watching the US women play softball and their pitcher is pretty amazing

Edit: We win! Great pitching by Lawrie

2020 Tokyo Olympics

Big props to the Tunisian swimmer on winning the gold medal in the men’s 400 m freestyle.

Ahmed Hafnaoui was the slowest qualifier and had to complete in the far outside lane of the Olympic pool. He barely qualified for the final by 14-hundredths of a second.

The 18 year old Tunisian was yelling like mad after winning gold. Heck, I would celebrate loudly too if I won a gold medal in that fashion. LUL

These are the stories that make Olympics the Olympics ... like Eddie the Eagle or the African bobsled team. The favoured ones to win 3-4 golds ... well, it's a matter of seeing if they end up with 2, 3, or 4. But this guy ... full props!

punkwax 07-27-2021 06:41 AM

I couldn’t watch the Twitter video either.

MG1 07-27-2021 07:42 AM

And, people were dismissing the importance of the Olympics............. Gotta hand it to Japan for, against all odds, keeping the tradition alive. It's stories like this (Tunisian) that make the Olympics so special. The sacrifices the athletes make. I feel for those who trained for years only to have the event cancelled............

Woot

SkinnyPupp 07-27-2021 03:41 PM

Both those videos are blocked too

It's like they actively want people to not be interested in the Olympics FailFish
