Got this two years ago and this was the first time riding it due to the pandemic. While riding it though, I can't help but think that Cain is behind me or hiding around the corner waiting to nab me for the Termignoni exhaust.

So nice to be back on two wheels. Big thanks to double0seven for helping me out with the maintenance items.

i should have bought another monster. they're such great bikes. i knew the 748 was going to be rough - but i didn't think it would make me miss my monster so much.

next year - s2r800 i think. I love the early trellis bikes w SS swingers.

^ I heard that Ducati Monsters are great, that Vtwin engine, great classic timeless looks that never gets dated ... when they are running well but they spend a lot of time in the shop. Ducati's are the BMW's of headache and maintenance, no?

This applies to most classic Ducati up until about 2012/2013 or so when Audi bought Ducati SpA. The quality has improved a lot and the maintenance intervals are no longer as demanding as they used to be (you can stretch them out a lot more.)

I've owned my fair share of Italian nonsense to have come to learn and accept they have their quirks and sometimes, it can be a total piece of shit design/engineering and you can't help but wonder "WTF were they thinking?" :fulloffuck: But despite all the trouble, it brings a smile to your face. I miss every piece of Italian machinery I once owned, from Alfa Romeos to Vespas. There is a real charm about Italian crap.
