Hmmm. Fencing is going up around government buildings such as the Senate building on Parliament Hill.
Huge increase in police presence in Ottawa. Tactical squad of police from Quebec are in Ottawa now.

For us it was a slow and steady rise to that point but for the contestants of that gameshow it was a sudden dunk into the deep end.
The alternate reality that you're talking about is Canada's future. Its been "pillow man anti vax" down here for a while and we're all kind of "Oh yeah, pillow man is up to his shit again" because we're used to it, but when that kind of smoothbrained logic gets applied north of the border you see it and think "What the fuck kind of clown show is this?"
