Yah, I thought that was a strange comment ... chalk it up to not thinking before speaking at the moment. It does show how much his heart was with the Jets.

At the end of the day the dude still has a cup before he retires. Not to mention the two gold medals with Team Canada in 2010,2014. Now OEL has a cup. And he is still on the Canucks books. lol.

Loser by Stanley Cup finals record yea maybe but far from a loser overall. 1 cup and 5 finals appearances heck even if he won zero I bet all the players who have no cup would trade places for that chance. Some people barely get a chance at the playoffs let alone a cu final. In recent memory it took Taylor Hall until his 8th season to even taste the playoffs lol

I will reiterate, I would have been okay with McDavid winning a cup. I was NOT ok with the likes of Draisaitl, Kane and Perry winning. Mostly Draisaitl for his arrogance and how unlikeable he has proven to be. Skillset undeniable, but he's such an asshole.

Special Advisor to the General Manager being on the cup is a pretty tall ask.

Apparently the team decides which people from the front office get on the cup list though, as long as they stick to 55 names or less overall... so I'm sure he will get his knob polished despite a dubious actual role with the team.

I'm happy for Lu but I'm sure he's not delusional enough to think winning it as a special advisor is anything like winning it as a player.

Lu's name is already on the cup, they do the engraving right after the win.
