The Flames are receiving defenceman Kevin Bahl and a top-10 protected 2025 pick in return for the 34-year-old.

Markstrom, 34, is headed into the fifth season of a six-year, $36 million contract he signed with the Flames in 2020 and will need to waive his no-move clause to allow this trade to be completed.

lots of talk about Canucks having serious interest in Guentzel (again). We definitely need a top 6 winger to play with Petey. He wouldn't be cheap though, 8-9M seems to be the agreed upon estimate.

Signing such a forward would basically mean no to a lot of our UFAs due to cap crunch.
