Actually, it’s the Chinese government.

How much does it cost to run a website like this?
I dabbled in hosting before with some failed businesses and I think it was like $40 a month. That was on wix. Is RS like that? Or is it much more?

It's way more because of how much traffic it gets. Bandwidth costs money.

I've got my adblocker turned off here too.

Every thread seems to have quite a few guests relative to the actual member count, I'm assuming those are mostly automated things scraping the site?

I spend $4k a year on golf. I'm sure this place doesn't come close. I'm sure the 3.x VB software has been paid off 20 years ago.

Quite honestly, I'm surprised this place is still kicking :lol

I'm sure exec council (ownership) and some of the other admin council (Orgasm_Donor, Niteraven & I) are still around in some capacity. Fact is.. we're all old and have much larger life concerns but I'm glad the bills are paid and skinny is still around because without him, this site is definitely done for.

It's not that cheap to get something reliable, where you're not one of 5000 customers loaded on a server lol. Hardware is more expensive than ever! Especially memory, which forums need a lot of to stay fast
