"Is it available?"

Glad to be of help and yah, in terms of comparables, it's priced right. Good luck with it.

Don't accept a trade for a $500 lease EV Forrester + Nintendo PlayStation + $55K cash.

Thing I hate about private selling aside from the usual low ballers and scams is that once a car goes over $20k most people need financing or tap into their heloc. Banks wont finance a 1M cause it’s too old. So the pool of buyers dry up quickly

I can't remember which car or motorcycle I had at the time, but some hipster showed up with a box of "vintage" vinyl records as his payment. He was serious and I was literally like

None of the M2s are N54... the N55 OG M2 might be the closest comparison? Thoughts from TheProducer?

S55 M2C, I remember earlier reports saying it feels too much power for the chassis compared to a "balanced" e46 m3 (i disagree with this, I think the most balanced was the e36 m3).

i've driven them all - they are all different cars

1M - only ~6000 ever made w unique body panels and skunkworks providence. N54 is proven and despite some known flaws, suits the chassis well. BMW could have put N55's in these but didn't. It feels like the right amount of power delivered through the M9x diff. No question you can get 90% of the feel (minus the diff) from a well sorted 135i*

OG M2 is i guess the closest successor. sort of a N55 1M. still no S engine. Really nice place to sit though. Plenty of em - we've seen them down in the 30's CAD. This would be a newer, easier place to be than a e46 M3 - lets call it the same price these days (really good e46 vs average M2). People will be happy to have these for a long time.

M2Comp completely different beast. Now we have an S engine and it's potent. More tech, i found rev matching really annoying in the manual (i don't know if the aftermarket has disabled it, i bet they have). Awesome car. not that many around. The exact same price as a 1M.

M2CS - prob the closest to the 1M in terms of collectibility. Not many of them. Fancy suspension vs Comp. Like the 1M, you're paying for the exclusivity more than the sum of the parts. These are 100k these days.

M2 G87. Fucking ugly cars. But the tech is there. I've only had a brief drive in one. Interestingly they have dropped into the same price range as the 1M. Tons of tech. Almost as ugly inside as outside w the screens. It looks huge parked next to a E82. BMW decided to fully transition to a mini muscle car with these.

*i still think the car to get in this whole segment is a 135is out of the states. All the run out parts for the E82 (power kit, exhaust, wheels). There's a canadian equiv package but it's not quite the same. Baby half price 1M. More "rare"

Does that cover it? Should the 1M have had the V8? should the OG M2 have had an S motor? Is it blasphemous that the new M2CS doesn't even have a dual clutch? (it's a traditional auto). Is the absolutley ridiculous price premium for the top of the range models of any of these chassis worth it? (spoiler: it's not). Is the 3 pedal Supra the best ///M car of all of them?

We can do a BMW thread if people want to get into it. Maybe, like the Bat Signal, criminals will fear the return of the true M king Westopher.

I love the look of the G87. I've got some new wheels on the way, and am trying to decide which suspension I'm going to go with to drop it a cm or two.

I get people coming up to me fairly regularly asking to take pictures and telling me how awesome the car looks (not as much as the exige though). So I don't think it's just me.

The screens are awesome. Not something I'd normally love, but they work so well. I love the different M display modes on the screens and HUD, also the tire temp/pressure and it's so easy to adjust the setup on the fly. It's great man. Zero lag, great refresh rate and vibrant colours.

I wish I got the carbon seats though. Everyone said don't do it, but now I regret not doing it.

Good luck with the 1M sale. I hope you had some good times in it. I understand the feeling of wanting to experience other cars though. I've already picked up a motorcycle this year, so I'm trying to hold out until next to make my next change.

Yes the ZF8 is amazing but its downshifts definitely aren't DCT crisp nor do they allow downshifts to redline.

Only if vague steering and snap oversteer is your cup of tea

Should the 1M have had the V8?
Maybe. I think it would've taken away from the balance of the car.
It'd be another 20k if it had the V8 and they'd probably brand it CSL or smth.

Yes
