Getting to f1 from Nagoya was smooth today,
Tomorrow we booked a direct shuttle round trip so we'll see how that goes

How much was your budget?

I assume a week at Japan will be to the tune of $5K CAD per person when all said and done?

Hondaracer 04-05-2025 10:43 AM

Might have to pick your guys brains about the trip after the race.

Very impressive by Bearman, now what does RB do? lol seems like Yuki probably stuck with RB now

Clean start ResidentSleeper

headhunt3r 04-05-2025 10:46 PM

Literally fell asleep during the snooze fest.

dark0821 04-05-2025 10:54 PM

wha...... masterclass by Max again, keeping Lando away from DRS, but he should also thank Zac Brown for not ordering to let Piastri thru... I truly believe it couldve been Piastri 1, Max 2, Lando 3 if team orders were involved.

Suzuka with cold dry weather and a clean start, and 2/3 being on the same team... This was as exciting as it was ever going to get lol

HonestTea 04-06-2025 12:05 AM

SuZZZuka

nabs 04-06-2025 12:44 PM

I'm happy for a max win, Yuki didn't do horrible by any means though, considering the field barely moved.

Hondaracer 04-07-2025 08:20 PM

So you guys that went, what was the experience like?

The race is boring AF and the track is pretty meh but I’m sure as a spectator it’s pretty similar no matter where you go. If you can indulge me as per the cost of the tickets, type of tickets, and where you stayed

dark0821 04-13-2025 09:06 AM

Pretty exciting.

Ferrari had a good run till SC leveled everyones tires.

When I saw George on the softs for the retart, I thought it was gonna be McLaren 1+2 with Lecler finishing the top 3. Super impressive that George made the tire last.

Max having the worse pit stops and getting caught out by the SC to finish 6th... incredible

Hondaracer 04-13-2025 11:05 AM

George is a hell of a driver gained a lot of respect for him over the last year

George is a stud - he maximises points as well as Max, is probably 3rd quickest on a single lap (Max & Charles ahead), is probably 3rd or 4th best at race pace (Max, Lewis, maybe Sainz). Has really matured driving with Mercedes.

Was our first f1 experience and although the race wasn't the most exciting, it was still fun to be in the atmosphere. We were already planning to go Japan during that time anyways and F1 was more a detour for us. The crowd was good and Japanese people are polite.

We were sitting at the Yuki fan section paid 48,000 yen each
https://www.suzukacircuit.jp/eng/f1/ticket/seat_c.html

Stayed in Nagoya, chain hotel APA, was about 250 cad a night

Only attended the track on Sat / Sun
Friday we went to the Toyota museum
Monday, we left for Tokyo

For qualifying on Saturday we took the Kintetsu line, booked seats online at 7am day of for 1030 am train, and it brought us from Nagoya station to Shiroko station, from there we hopped on a shuttle bus that brought us directly to the track. https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandPrixTr...cuit/#lightbox

On race day, we took a direct shuttle from Nagoya station to and from the track on race day. 80 bucks per person- had to be prebooked prior. Bought the event and shuttle tickets back in Nov last year.

If we do it again, we might do it differently like rent our own car.

You can PM me if you have any questions

dark0821 05-18-2025 06:52 AM

well, that wasnt too bad

Hondaracer 05-18-2025 11:54 AM

FYI for anyone who watches on TSN, this week both the rare and the pre-race were titled as “F1 Checkered Flag” or whatever the pre-race show is called, so my PVR didn’t end up recording it.

Was able to go back and watch the race on replay but then couldn’t fast forward, TSN has fucked this up a few times this season so if you really want to record it make sure you skip ahead in the guide and make sure the actual race is set to record

SkinnyPupp 05-18-2025 02:20 PM

LeClerc giving up his spot to Albon on the last lap pissed me off so much. It was close but I thought he protected his spot well. What happened to the bold, cocky Ferrari? Now they race like cowards.

Vancouver240sx 05-18-2025 03:19 PM

Great race! I think Ferrari knew they'd be getting a penalty if he didn't give it back. Man its an exciting season.

Rich

EvoFire 05-25-2025 10:28 PM

Maybe I don't see the big picture, but I'm disappointed at Hamilton for not closing the gap and trying to squeeze a 4th out of it.

SkinnyPupp 05-25-2025 11:58 PM

Like I said, Ferrari plays too safe now. It sucks

Hondaracer 05-26-2025 08:48 AM

Monaco is so shit. Like Leclerc can be on Lando’s ass for 10 laps and still not have a single opportunity to pass because the McLaren has that straight line speed up the finish line stretch? So fucking boring

As the commentary said, the two pit stop rule is pointless if you get a safety car or red flag. Their attempts to make it more entertaining played out exactly as the race normally does

Monaco is pretty cheap. You can stay in Nice and take like a 10 euro train in.

If you're around earlier in the week like Wednesday, I've "snuck" into pit lane and watched the trucks unload and such. Is pretty typical to just be able to wander around earlier in the week.

There are free spots around Monaco you can view the race from, practice sess tickets are like $100.

IMO grandstand tickets are so expensive that you might as well just get a few friends together and get on a boat if you're booking far enough in advance.

Hondaracer 05-26-2025 09:43 AM

Yea in 2016 I was in Monaco the week before the race, we actually just walked most of it and even into portions of the paddock just randomly lol

EvoFire 05-26-2025 09:44 AM

This is making think maybe next year May there's a south of France trip for us
