P4? He was 7th and got passed twice on the last lap?

Amazing weekend, from FP2, Quali to what felt like 3 different races in one Sunday.

Also if Max to Mercedes rumors are true, could be an amazing Summer break.

I would also like to add, AM had a strategy masterclass with Lance, P4! (...go canada..)

Yeah, he "Lanced" his chance at a great result by just doing his normal thing and screwing up the good things that daddy Stroll gives him. He was passed multiple times going from as high as 3rd to finishing in 7th. A masterclass by Lance.

My bad, I didn't even check the results just went off my memory. I guess he fucked it up

tbf just overly optimistic tire strategy by going on the soft. Yes he cleared his way thru the field but then likely burned them out by the end of the race.

Huge news, Christian Horner fired!

Can't tell if this means Max is leaving or staying as a result - is he being fired so Max will stay or is he being fired b/c Max has signed with Mercedes?

bcrdukes 07-09-2025 07:39 AM

Wow.

Do we know why Horner was fired?

Either the Max to Mercedes smoke was too real, or that there are Horndong pics that are gonna be leaked.

bcrdukes 07-09-2025 07:42 AM

Wow, crazy.

Did not now his wife is Geri Haliwell of Spice Girls fame.

Great68 07-09-2025 08:04 AM

Didn't I hear that Red Bull's poor results in Silverstone triggered the threshold where Max could enact his exit clause?
But I mean, I don't know why they would use immediate termination in that situation and not just let him run out the season. If Max is already lost, then what do they have to gain by also immediately firing Horner?

HonestTea 07-09-2025 08:59 AM

That's a MEGA bombshell, they wouldn't even let him finish the year after winning them 14 championships. Somethings happening..

There was a lot, losing key team members over the scandal as well, obvious unanswered issues with the car, burning through drivers, tbf Helmut should go as well.

If you watch S1 of Drive to Survive on Netflix, it should give you a little bit of info on the teams and principals. But yeah, it surprised me too!

Koflach 07-11-2025 05:43 PM

my feeling on the Horner thing is that the ownership are making a desperate attempt to appease the Verstappen camp by giving them something they (moreso Jos) have been after for a while. It reeks of desperation and I don't think it will work out in the long run.

there's also https://www.suzukacircuit.jp/eng/f1/ for information

Friend that bought early last year had to use a vpn (she bought hers around oct)
i bought mine in November and didnt have to use a vpn

if i remember correctly if you click through the website of ticket purchase through the suzuka website, itll direct you to the mobility station website

blkgsr 07-20-2025 12:43 PM

are they no longer restricted to Japanese citizens on the sazuka page?

outside the country you use to have to buy them on f1 or other reseller wedsites

Hondaracer 07-20-2025 12:58 PM

Yea it’s somewhat unclear where they are actually sold..

Booked flights now just need tickets but seem to typically be released in sept

Hondaracer 08-04-2025 05:40 PM

Fuck looks like a crazy race from the highlights, Ferrari still being Ferrari, Max’s overtakes at speed were insane as well as Oscar against Charles on the the outside of that corner, fuck crazy

nabs 08-05-2025 08:19 AM

Race was pretty boring in general. But the Ferrari fuckups are just unreal at this point, Charles needs to leave.

HonestTea 08-05-2025 11:12 AM

Monaco with no walls.

Great68 08-05-2025 11:35 AM

I don't know what it is, I know it's a close championship battle like we always wanted, but at the same time it's very uninteresting this year.

Like, Hamilton/Rosberg in the mid 2014-2016 was so much better somehow.

I guess because Mercedes let them actually race a bit harder and they had a few "take each other out moments", I dunno.

Word on the street is that Ferrari still hasn't resolved the plank wear issues so after the last stop they had to raise the car with tire pressures and get Charles to do lots of lift and coast. Lewis was told starting lap 3 to lift and coast so my guess is his setup was already compromised in qualifying.

Yeah, it's pretty boring stuff between Oscar and Lando. I don't consider either to be an elite tier driver (Max, Charles, George) so there's not going to be crazy feats of excellence that happen (say Lewis' Singapore qualifying lap) and both seem to get along with the other.

I liked the 2021 war between Max and Lewis a lot better (except for the bullshit ending).

Great68 08-05-2025 08:18 PM

Well yeah, close championships between drivers on separate teams is always better. There's never going to be any team order crap.

'07, '08, '10, '12 were great seasons in that regard as well.
