-cool to see the Canucks present a commemorative banner to Bryan Adams during his concert at Rogers Arena on September 12th.
Adams had a concert at the arena way back in September 2005 to open the building.
Even some Rangers fans were caught off guard with the choice. I'm sure he'll do well as captain there but one of their fans (a youtuber) pointed out they have a habit of trading their captains so take that as you will lol.
He is. We've also got Willander, Mancini and D-Petey who are expected to take big minutes and show management what they bring to the table. Could be interesting!
Apparently the game will be streamed on Canucks' website.
The Minnesota Wild signed star left wing Kirill Kaprizov to an eight-year, $136-million extension on Tuesday, giving him the richest contract in NHL history.
Kaprizov will count $17 million against the salary cap beginning next season. It's the highest annual average salary of any player since the league’s cap era began in 2005, surpassing Auston Matthews’ $13.25 million with Toronto. Alex Ovechkin’s 13-year, $124-million contract signed with Washington in 2008 was previously the highest total value.
Lots of money for someone who hasn't won anything or been past a 2nd(?) round... not saying that is his fault exactly, but if you're doubling the $ to him the rest of the team sure isn't going to get any better.
I did forget how much dead cap Minnesota has been dragging around for Parise and Suter… they still are for the next 3-4 seasons but at a much more playable $1.7M, it’s been in the teens in past years lol
They’ve still got $5M free this season.
Their goalies are extremely low cost right now. Boldy and Eriksson-Ek are cost controlled for the next 5 years too… could be worse!
Kaprizov structure is truly one of a kind, per sources. He's getting 20% of $95.5M cap in salary/signing bonuses ($19.1M) his 1st 4 years. He has $1 million salaries in each of the 8 years...Full no-move clause
