I was going to call you a liar, but I guess the LC500 you got was a Matchbox.

These same wheels are on a line of HotWheels called "ultra hots" and have been around since the 80's

hot wheels are so ghetto they dont even give you the little toy wheels done in the proper car's style!?!?! at least matchbox wheels match the real car

68style 10-15-2025 10:12 PM

Depends on the series, they do… and they’re owned by the same company (Mattel) haha

I love the new 2.3 Ecoboost - only 4 cyl that drives like a big torquey 6.

Pretty cool that they added a package for:

- Rolling antilag using the EGR system, up to 3 seconds off throttle
- More travel, revised magneride dampers and stability control to make drifting easier
- Electronic drift handbrake
- 6 and 4 pot Brembos from Dark Horse

Really surprised they did this since the standard mustang sold less than the Mach-E.

One of the worst sounding cars on the market

Sounds like not a bad idea... except it's still is over 3800lbs. So... FailFish

Also this generation mustang looks a lot worse than the last one. Not even sure why, but the front is very meh … those weird air intakes looks stupid. Spec wise I approve though. That 5.0L v8 is basically the same spec as my ratrolla v8, almost the same rpm redline too… on a 60k car !!! Like half the price of a ratrolla 90% of the engine. Yah you don’t have the Yamaha heads, but at that price who cares. You get a manual too!!! What a bargain

I've always been curious about the 5.0L Ford engines. Great value, but are they reliable and stand the test of time? (My assumption is yes.)

AstulzerRZD 10-17-2025 07:40 AM

The problem is the trans (Getrag and 10R) more than the engine.

5.0 is quite reliable but latest gen has a wet belt driven oil pump.
Ford says they needed it so the pump doesn't blow up with 700hp+.
Mechanics said the previous versions of this wet belt thing blew up in the 1.0

Great68 10-17-2025 02:19 PM

The earlier gen Coyotes used a crank driven oil pump, but they used powdered metal gears. They are perfectly fine for a stock engine, the issue comes when people put belt driven superchargers on them, which puts extra stress on the front of the motor and the gears. There are aftermarket billet gears available that fix the problem.

The coyote is a crazy platform, this guy is running 6.04's in the 1/4 (~3000RWHP) with a stock block and mostly stock GT350 (Voodoo) heads.

So far 11 years and 110,000kms the 5.0 in my F150 (and several thousand of that towing my trailer) has been pretty bulletproof.

bcrdukes 10-17-2025 02:22 PM

I am curious because I came across Factory Five for their replica Cobras and you can throw in a Ford 5.0 or a bunch of different configurations.

A complete car that brings smiles for many miles is far cheaper than a Porsche, so that got me thinking. :suspicious:

Great68 10-17-2025 02:23 PM

Been done, it's AWESOME:

bcrdukes 10-17-2025 02:29 PM

yeah, that's it!

Sweet car but not great for Vancouver haha

Badhobz 10-17-2025 03:46 PM

honestly that ford 5.0 is pretty epic. Like the GM LS motor, its just good, wholesome, cheap power. Too bad its kinda fugly, otherwise its a helluva bargin

bcrdukes 10-18-2025 07:27 AM

Just for you, Badhobz.

Ex-Porsche man returns home after stint at Ferrari and McLaren

Michael Leiters, the ex-McLaren CEO named as new boss of Porsche

From the article: The Volkswagen Group has confirmed that Blume has signed a new agreement keeping him in the role as CEO of the VW Group until the end of 2030.

Badhobz 10-18-2025 07:41 AM

its weird how this guy was able to hold two ceo positions at once for all these years. seems like a huge conflict of interest.

Manic! 10-18-2025 10:38 AM

In the early 80's 10 waiters from the Keg in Vancouver started a supercar company with a 10 million dollar grant from the goverment.

If you guys were to get an Audi R8 V8 (1st gen) would you pay the manual tax for the gated shifter, or settle for the R-Tronic (single clutch automated manual).

68style 10-20-2025 12:57 PM

Manual, I drove an auto V8 R8 and it was mind-numbingly boring in sound and performance. I would assume the manual would make it much more lively feeling.

bcrdukes 10-20-2025 12:59 PM

Sounds like the perfect car for Badhobz. :derp:

Badhobz 10-20-2025 01:18 PM

It eats the clutch and breaks down often too. The facelift one comes with dual clutch and much better apparently.
