Rat seems to have no luck when it comes to used cars.
I guess spent all my used car luck on my salvage titled 103k Honda! 17 years, +140k, and 20-30 track days later: only needed a timing chain tensioner, reverse gear position sensor, cam position sensor broken connector - all cheap fixes, working in a wide open engine bay. Everything else was just consumables.
What did we learn here? Poor ppl should just buy S2000s.

Pretty sure it's a scheme cooked up by the petroleum cartel. And Toyota was the key architect. What they do, is they pick random hybrids off the production line and code them to drag their electric motors and burn extra fuel. For extra gasoline profits in their pockets. And they make it just rare enough that ppl would call the victims crazy if they snitched. Or you know, refused to get vaccinated.

same.. i got a feeling its a bad individual cell, but then it would throw faults if thats the case... bad inverter? maybe..... something is fucked up.
Occam's razor: somebody had it out for the previous owner, and extensively modified the vehicle for lesser fuel efficiency while avoiding CELs so it can't be warranteed.

Actually great!
Except on hot days, the infotainment screen touches itself relentlessly.
Dirty unreliable BMW.
Although I did swap in the infotainment touchscreen from a 3 series and may have drilled into the PCB by accident and shorted something out but this is still BMW's fault.
Also sometimes the passenger seat occupancy sensor pops an error with a horrible BOnG chime. Scum bag W- VIN BMW.
Although I did spill a bunch of meat juice into said seat, and douse it in soap and water trying to wash it out. Still though. Come on!

WTF! I drove my 10VIN a ton but I did have to do..
- Main relay
- Ignition coils
- All mounts (splurged for Spoon): 1k
- Alternator and battery
- Shocks
It already had done..
- TCT
- Valve retainers
- Clutch, hydraulics
- Rear axle nut
Aliexpress to the rescue! Solved my biggest ergonomics complaint about the lezbaru. I ordered these like a week ago and they came in today. 22 bucks for the whole thing!
Little knee cushion instead of hitting the hard ass plastics
Thigh extension cushion, best thing ever! 8 bucks each.
Old Man Edition metal sticker for extra pazzaz!
Taking a browse of the show floor for the auto show and it's pretty sad how much it has shrunk - no Merc, no Mazda, no Stellatis (ha - who cares), just a Honda dealer display, a tiny BMW display, no Acura etc.
My kid is still young enough to like climbing in and out of all the cars and she wants to go this year so off we go but what a big contrast to the old days.
I stopped going a decade ago. Even the avg Merc or BMW, they have ropes around it and you can't sit in it ... totally sh*t car show. I can go to dealer and sit in nicer cars than paying what $20 to walk around and collect stupid pins and fridge magnets. They couldn't pay me $20 to waste my time there.

I go every year and still plan to go this year. It's an easy way to check out cars I wouldn't step into a dealership for, but also fully understand why my friends don't bother.
I'm somewhat interested in the EV test drives at the auto show. Has anyone tried that before in the past 2 years? Is there a place where you can pre-register for the test drives? or do you just show up and line up for each car?
The auto show website doesn't seem to provide any information on this at all
The whole world has gone down a road no one can recover from, and it's nothing to do with governments, it's because so much of the general public is so fucking stupid.

I test-drove most of the cars there last year. Cars like the Hummer filled up pretty quickly, so you would want to go early for that if you don't want to wait around. The test drive line-up looks pretty mid this year, so there might not be as big a demand besides the Hummer and Escalade.
^Last year's BCHYDROEV 50% off coupon still works for this year's ticket page.
Thanks! I wasn't sure I wanted to pay full price but at 50% off I can have a nice time with my kid.
That checkout process is one of the saddest I've ever seen - no Apple Pay support, fields aren't named properly so CC autofill doesn't work, the Apple Wallet option doesn't work either.
