probably just as unreliable as the real car.

Gumby 01-06-2026 02:22 PM

Here's the latest addition to the fleet that I just built over the holiday break, from Brickveteran:

This version is from a few months ago, designed by Planebricks:

These two companies sell arguably the highest quality models. I'm currently waiting on a few more parts to build a third F-14 (Brickveteran version, also Jolly Rogers livery).

I've never looked into it because it's ridiculously priced and I can never afford one, but is the AMG GT unreliable?

Badhobz 01-06-2026 03:35 PM

It’s a modern Mercedes. So probably yes ?

Holy shit, that's sick... but am I looking at the right thing cause the website says these things are $1000-$1500 USD?

Yes complete sets (100% LEGO, no stickers, custom minifigs, full colour coil bound instructions, parts sorted in numbered bags, premium packaging) are very expensive... Some of the larger models are USD$2000+!!

Cheaper alternative is to just buy digital instructions and stickers. A lot of knock-off brands are selling military sets as well (often using stolen designs).

I think I'm done though. The only "modern" US fighter jet missing from my collection is a F-16. The F-14 kit from Brickveteran is my most expensive model to date. The Jolly Rogers one is built from Planebricks' printed parts, digital instructions, and the remaining parts I gathered separately.

LEGO just revealed their new Pokemon sets. This explains why the MEGA Pokemon sets were cleared out last month:

RabidRat 01-12-2026 09:19 AM

Wow they look really good.

Too bad about the pricing though. That first kit there is $1000 tax-in!!

EvoFire 01-12-2026 09:27 AM

Can't say I'm interested at all. Lego and Pokemon just don't jive for me.

Now if they did a Pallet Town diorama from the game or a hanging Kanto map..... But that would be a boring ass build.

Gumby 01-12-2026 10:00 AM

Ok I'm usually the first to diss Megabloks, but their Pokemon sets were actually decent!

Now we have LEGO doing the same models, but for 3x the price. Makes my custom military sets seem like a bargain. :lol

Don't get me wrong, the LEGO Pokemon sets look great, but the price is ridiculous. I guess that is the LEGO brand + Nintendo/Pokemon tax hard at work. Supposedly there will be smaller sets coming out, but also with very high prices for what you get.

Badhobz 01-12-2026 10:35 AM

That Blastoise Charizard Venusaur set looks so fucking good, but damn, $900.

The Eevee looks good too, and the Pikachu looks aids. Mega made the Pikachu one better.

RabidRat 01-12-2026 02:41 PM

Yeah Pikachu looks the absolute worst. What a choice.

Badhobz 01-12-2026 02:44 PM

When Pokemon was becoming popular I think I was already in Grade 11/12. Somewhere around there. I think because of this, I had no interest in getting into another kid's show. Little did I know the people a bit younger than me would become completely obsessed with it. I'm in the same boat as you, never understood it's popularity lol. Oh well.
