This was submitted for lego ideas but didn’t get enough traction to be put into production. Instead we got voltron.

i dont know much about this stuff, but i've read that the dragon blok are not that great.

i looked into it a few years ago, and COBI makes some pretty sick stuff. i dont have space for this, but

Always jealous of red_kryptonite's display space...

Here's one of the few items I have on permanent display, in the master bedroom of all places!

Badhobz 10-04-2025 09:50 AM

She did you a favor. That takes up a lot of space

this is pretty neat.. not sure why i would display this instead of the original gameboy i still have sitting around somewhere.

68style 10-06-2025 01:27 PM

I have this problem with many of the sets of this ilk... like the Pacman arcade machine Lego costs more than you can find the actual arcade machine for... so what's the point lol

underscore 10-06-2025 03:32 PM

Sets with way too many custom pieces defeat the purpose of LEGO imo. I know sometimes they need a few to make something work but with that Gameboy the only thing that looks like LEGO is the D pad.

I think sets like these are for collectors who likes continuity in their collection. For me I’m a lego collector but I’m also a superhero fan and car guy. Diecast and action figures no no no. But technic supercars creator cars yes yes yes.

Pretty sure there’s no custom pieces in the game boy, looks like it’s a pretty simple build. Just stickers and maybe a custom prints on existing pieces.

OG Batman tumbler for $150

Edit: not OG it’s the rereleased one, but still not a bad price.

Instructions for building these are available online from Lego, right?

So essentially, I can just buy this, tear it apart, and rebuild it again for $50 just to enjoy the process?

It's unclear whether the seller includes instructions, but yes, instructions are available in PDF format on the LEGO website.

Personally, I prefer paper over digital instructions.

nabs 10-10-2025 11:55 AM

I've been purchasing big sets since before we had our baby. Now i'm waiting a couple more years for her dexterity to improve. But I can't wait to start surprising her with all these neat sets i've been holding in storage.

Got a few older F1 technics ones, large technics mercedes truck, moon rover, and some smaller city sets that I found neat.

Taking them apart is a bit of PITA though.

RabidRat 10-10-2025 02:32 PM

It's only a PITA if you have weak teeth!!

Beetle might be fake. Way too shiny. And the technic pieces are showing way too much ripples
