A220 16D/E give you enough space to stretch out your entire leg and usually free with status, emergency exit usually costs more.
Delta 757 days might be numbered, the new cabin gets complaints for having really thin seats.
Row 35 on the older 75 is another good one because it's the old crew rest area, extra half row of space and footrest on the seat for the economy price.

If you're flying economy in an A350 the choicest seat is one row behind the 2nd last exit as the A and K seats (window) have no seat in front of them as the row in front has only 2 seats instead of 3 to facilitate exiting. Depending on how they number the rows it's around 50-60 - on Cathay Pacific it's row 60, on Fiji Airways it's row 52 etc.

Good to know, flying the new AF 359 from YVR <> CDG next month.
Didn't get the bulkhead throne in 1/10A or L, but did get the bulkhead in 10D.
Will look for that emergency exit seat on the way back

So did anyone else buy anything for Black Friday? I ended up springing for the Bells of Steel cable tower squat stands which was $100 off ( https://bellsofsteel.com/products/ca...47035627733044) and Rep Fitness had a 10% off sales on their barbells so I sprung for that. All in all I saved around $250-300 on a $2k spend.

Do airlines not outfit the cabin through whichever outfitter they like?
Do we need to start a plane geek thread? Seems like there's a good amount of people into planes as well |

Went to try them on and its kinda insane they don't do half sizes in a lot of their models. They were all either way too small or way too big... Quote:

We bought 3 pairs of Vessi's during their BF sale -- 2 for the kiddo, and this pair of 2025 Pride shoes for myself:
I wonder if I'll get hit on when I wear them to Davie Street at the West End...

You're perfectly safe with those shoes on Davie - if anything they'll act as a deterrent (unless you're ripped and walking with these shirtless, then maybe).

Do we need to start a plane geek thread? Seems like there's a good amount of people into planes as well | It also depends on who's got supplies/bid lowest for the contract. Some interior manufacturers are so backed up they won't be able to supply new cabins for years, so airlines are forced to go with another supplier.

Not sure if it's the routes and passengers it flew or just the quality was junk, but I flew on one in 2018 when they were still relatively new and the interior was TRASHED. A bunch of the overhead bins were duct taped shut because they were broken. The washroom mirror was shattered and held together by box tape, cracks everywhere. I'm guessing it was all cosmetic but damn was it a shitty flight.
I miss the old 777-300 half business layout, CX-888 and CX-889 were golden standard flights. Fuck covid. Quote:

I hold a particular fondness for old Boeing widebodies. I've never been a big fan of Airbuses or the 787. But AC's fleet is mainly 787 and that's what we end up flying most of the time.

Pretty sure the newer deliveries have solved this issue.
For anyone flying transpac, CX888 and CX865 on the YVR Route enjoys the Aria Suite in their J cabin, and updated PY and Y too. One of just a few routes that features the new cabin. So stocked to be checking this out next month!
To keep this semi on topic, CX black friday sale claims to have some $650+ RT fares to cities all over Asia. I'd be all over this if I didn't already have tickets.
Can't beat the old 747s in terms of aesthetics. The experience though on those old tubes is something else entirely. Curious if anyone else has felt the difference flying in the current gen planes where the humidity is kept way higher. I know I pee about 3-4x more on the modern jets like the A350 and 787 whereas I arrive like a shrivelled prune on the older jets.

My bestest 747 experience was with JAL. Economy on upper deck. That was friggen amazing even as a kid. Single aisle seating in a widebody. We were quiet kids and it was just nice how quiet it was upstairs.
I don't think I pee more on modern jets, but I definitely don't need to drink as much as I used to flying on 747 with UA or JAL.

Emergency exit seats dont recline is the tradeoff.
From a pax perspective the B787 is the best no? Composite fuselage lets it pressurize to 5500ft unlike 7000ft and the bleedless system lets it have more humidity in the air and less chance of fumes.
But airbus is better #shotsfired
Seat pitch and width? I thought RS ballers only sit in single numeral seats in front of the wing?

You have to fly the same airline, and the same location over and over to "know" what the best seats are.
Those "seat maps" are wrong 50% of the time, you think your picking a good seat, and then you end up near the shitter, no recline, behind the engine for extra white noise, etc. The "recline" of seats is near worthless.
Window seat + exit row = max leg room for that extra 10% "fee". Whats an extra 300$ on your yearly vacation. Thats like costco parking 100 times. (Troll)

I thought my trip to Sydney on the A350 was superb even for economy. The 777X matches on air pressure, has 18" seats and the biggest windows ever so I imagine it'll become the new widebody king when it finally launches.
The A220 also matches the 787 for air pressure - for single aisles I think it's the king with the Embraer E195-E2 being second place.

at least airplane foamers are better than these train foamers. Train foamers are the weirdest.
They come out of the bush with their big ass cameras and when i ride past them, i blast the shit out of them and give them the finger. One of them yelled out to me, HEY IS THAT A GE - Dash 8 ENGINE with articulating high beam!?
uhhh you know it is......! why else would you yell out something that specific you fucking weirdo!?
yeah.... thats a good engine. carry on sir.

He asked me to go I'm like why I got two little kids at home and I don't know any of the people there.
My dad worked for HAECO as well, there might be some crossover but I think your dad is probably a bit older than my dad. My dad would have just started working when your dad immigrated. My dad toiled there for a long time and his big break didn't come until he moved to UA. UA had a base in HK for the longest time.
I remember the first time I flew 787 I didn't like it. I'm used to the low pitch rumbling of the older jets, my 787 AC flight from Shanghai had this higher pinch whine that I found uncomfortable and I kept my headphones on for the whole flight.
I haven't flown a 777 in a long time, I think last I flew one was CX888/889 in 2016. It's been a steady diet of mainly 787 since we started flying long haul again after covid.
