yea the only thing I hate about all the Logitech setups is the fckin brake pedal, it's an issue that's been raised by sim racers for years now and Logitech still hasn't done shit about it. You press it around 20% with your foot and you're already well over 90% of your full braking zone.

I've owned a DFP, a DFP GT, a G25 and a G27 now and they all have the same shit pedals unchanged after all these years. The gas pedal is nice and smooth, the clutch is ok, sometimes it gets annoying cuz you may have to depress it fully, but the brake pedal is horrendous.... it's why I never play with ABS off

Finally beat the RX7 Tsukuba event... increased downforce and lowering the height did the trick. Although I believe the MNP R34 also had an incident cause it wasn't trailing/being blocked by another car on the last lap. The white 300zx was seen passing a corner as I passed the finish line

The Focus and RX-7 Seasonal #2 events are kicking my ass. I can get second, yet am out of first by 20+ secs. With Skid Recovery Force on I can get within 7-8 secs.

I have both cars maxed out and tuned, probably need a slightly better tune.

The Nascar Seasonal #2 event is only hard to do 2 clean laps. I haven't beaten it cause I touch the grass on lap 2 and spin then restart. I need to do this event when I've had a couple drinks and am relaxed :D pushing too hard I end up on the grass.

Pole is not in the way unless you have large muscle like legs or something then it might be a problem, haha. It's pretty stiff as well. Once I get a larger house and perhaps a dedicated entertainment room I might build my own cockpit based on my Prelude or my future NSX-R :p
Just same dimensions, I'm not going to bring in a parts car and use the center console and dashboard haha, although I have seen some like that and does look pretty neat.

Before the play seat I made my own cockpit out of PVC piping. Screwed it all together so its sturdy and just mounted an old OEM Honda seat I had. It laid on the flat on the floor so I left like a low rider :p It was pretty easy to make as well.
I might have some photos of it somewhere, I'll check.

^ the shaking in cockpit view is supposed to simulate real life, it has nothing to do with your setup. you cant change it unfortunately, im annoyed too, i dont mind a little bit, but at higher speeds its way too overboard.

Btw when driving press start and go into the quick options and click and change the interior view angle toZoom, its much better for cockpit view, more realistic.

that's a list of all cars that can be race modded, to me it doesnt really do much, I think the only car out of that list worth race modifying is the ZR1... i RM'd my RSX, NSX, Silvia, Camaro, ZR1, and all of them get only slight bumps in HP, they handle great though and look awesome... if you're lookin for performance out of RM, go for the ZR1 rm, others are just for looks pretty much

You need something to mount the whole thing to. I mounted my contraption to my Playseat Evolution.
You would have to show me what you want to mount the pedal frame to if you have something that's NOT a Playseat.

Or how about I make a HOW TO: YouTube video on it! That would be kick ass bro!!

Yes, the photos I took are from my Playseat Evolution. I did it because I wanted to. I wanted my racing simulation experience to be as real as possible. Plus it was a cheap mod and it feels better. :thumbsup:

See the black casing around the pedals? I took that apart as the pedals are too close together for my taste and flipped them outside down cause I don't like how the pedals are "european style" But in order to do that I had to mount them to something else because the black casing the pedals come in will not work in this situation.
It's all personal preference anyways.

Yes, thats how the L brackets are mounted. If you look closely I had to use a small extension made out of the same material and located in the exact same section at Home Depot. I believe it was the isle next to all the nuts, bolts and screws.

I used M6 bolts I think. 10 or 11mm socket and just put it all together. The Playseat already has predrilled holes for the black pedal casing to be screwed into so I just used those holes. Also had to drill some new holes into the L bracket and aluminum bars.
Once I install the dead pedal I'll make a YouTube video and post it up. I'll snap a few photos too.

dude if you skimmed a page back or two we just discussed this seasonal event(learn to look). And the tips/tune G-spec offered helped with the race. Bitching aside, I managed all my laps at 1min each, with my first lap at 1:01, and my last lap at 59sec and won by 2.5 seconds

The only other game I'm willing to play right now is any Metal Gear Solid game but I've beaten each one so many times and unlocked/collected everything thats available. I hope Kojima decides to release MGS: Peace Walker for PS3 or any of the other MGS remastered in HD would be intense!
MGS: Rising looks sweet too but I'm more of a Solid Snake fan over Raiden.

I also want to play the new Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions as that looks pretty sweet as well but haven't done my research on that yet. Batman was sweet as well waiting to see if another one comes out. Scarecrow survived in the end...

as for A-spec, at lvl 30 right now, i will go up to lvl 35 to unlock the X1 2010's, and call it a game as far as GT mode goes... starting today i switched my focus to online racing, I have a stable of 10 cars I have fully tuned using GT Planets tuning setups, and I'll be seeing you guys online :thumbsup:

It is helpful to let others know you're using aids to pull those lap times. There's tons of threads on GT Planet with people claiming the seasonal races are easy, only to find out they are leaving SRF on, which essentially makes GT5 into an arcade game.

So how about you walk the talk: post your setup when making these claims. Be helpful and contribute rather than brag about how good you are and leave out that you used aids to get there.

No, you can get the X1 without being level 30. People are doing the save game trick to gift their X1 to a fake account, then gift it back. The fake account would not be level 30.

You might want to confirm what races it is allowed in before trading. People were disappointed the F2010 and F2007 are not allowed in most races.

Last night I tried GT5 in 3D at Best Buy Landsdown - holy crap! I was a skeptic before, yet not now. The cars don't pop out at you, yet there is depth into the screen. The depth is linear and seamless too, not the cheesy layers in 3D movies. Everything is in 3D too, all the backgrounds move as seamlessly in 3D as the cars.

When it first came out yes, its was a little tricky with all the hp/weight/tire restrictions. Now they completely removed all restrictions thus its 100x easier, change the oil after a few laps round an oval and you get close to 900hp or about 60hp above everyone else. Buy racing soft rubber. Tune your car for a FR setup with bias towards oversteer and you will be golden.

That should give you a big enough edge over the others. If all else fails turn on electronic aids.

Yep, took some practice to run a clean lap, more to run 2 clean laps. You have to know the track well to drive this car on the edge. You can catch up huge on the straighter sections if you can keep the gas pedal pinned and the car on the road. If you're having issues try increasing traction control and ABS first, as a last resort turn on skid recovery force.

I had one spin on my second lap and still managed to catch 1st place on the last turn.

Well the restrictions are basically stock hp/weight/rubber. You can just buy a stock car and go at it, no one says you must mod the car to 1million hp and smoke everyone within the first lap. It's actually a good move IMO, I was stuck for 3hrs+ for that stupid mini race and was really frustrated (i.e. Not having fun). It's kind of the same reason why wow became so casual friendly, cause 95% of the paying customers are casual gamers who do not have 8-10hrs to spare daily for progression/events/races.

You have to pass the first car clean on the outside and stick as close to Johnson as possible to stay in the draft. You should be able to read the decal on his car while taking the first corner, otherwise you're too far behind - quit and restart. I almost had 1st yet ran into Johnson trying to pass in the last corner.

I done seen it all now as far as online glitching and how bad it is in GT.

I just finished 5 races where I won first place in all of them, OR SO I THOUGHT.... the whole time I kept wondering why there were 15 players in this room but only 5 were racing each time, found it weird that there is just 10 guys in one room sitting there watching 5 guys race....

so it turns out I've only been seeing 5 people racing when in reality all 15 were on track and racing each of those races, I didn't see any of these cars and it kept showing the race as a normal 5 guy race and me getting 1st place each time. I happened to see that finish 20 second countdown start appearing when I'm close to the finish line each race so I was thinking, hey wtf why is the countdown starting I'm first and I haven't crossed the finish line yet...
turns out I been getting 2nd all along, and they've all been seeing me but I only been seeing 5 guys



I don't think a patch can even fix this, Gran Turismo is new to online world, so no wonder it sucks balls

Watch the Top gear episode where they test drive it around the track and you'll understand. They find the newest model doesn't drive as well as the previous model so they bring in a Lotus engineer to explain why and show them how to drive the car. The Lotus engineer basically drifts the car around every corner, so the car is designed to be tail happy.

If you bought it used you might have a dud... Main problems with the G25 were it wouldnt go into 5th gear or reverse... So if you bought it used its broken. If you bought it new it should be under warranty. Logitech will ask you to ship the shifter to them ($20 worth of shipping) then they will send you a brand new unit back.. Then you now have 2 wheels 1 with shifter one without..

Anyone modded their shifter for better resistance and to remove the clicking sound?

I modified mine but the clicking sound is still there. It's because there is a small ball bearing and moves against a metal plate that has three holes that act as a lock. Everytime it moves from hole to hole as you shift gears, it will click and lock into place.

I modified mine to have a heavier shift and more resistance for reverse. I finally got around to installing an ebrake handle but I need to construct something in order to mount it beside or behind the shift stick. Then it will be complete!!

I liked the very restrictive Seasonal events. It forced me to drive cars I wouldn't normally have driven, and to learn how to tune them to my driving style. I find the new Season events kinda boring and too easy, so I try to make them hard by picking cars that are competitive - like using a slightly modded Volvo C30 for the FF races.

Really hate the new seasonal system where the rewards are peanuts. I agree the last few were easy xp and $ but it was the only way I could forsee myself hitting lvl 40 to buy a white redbull. No way in hell am I gonna do multiple 200 lap enduro bs so pretty much gonna get a friend to mail me one.

They should either make it like s1 where rewards are good but restrict any hp/rubber mod or scale reward with ai lvl kinda like gt5p where you get to set opponent at 99.

The events are as challenging as you make them, thus if they are too easy, you're using too much car. Why does PD need to force you to challenge yourself?

The rewards are definitely low, yet I'm OK with that. Level 40 should take a long time to reach, otherwise everyone will be complaining they are done the game too soon.

1. Above the garage icon there's 3 selections: GT life, Profile, Community. Select Community
2. Find a friend, notice at the bottom of their profile are 6 slots for drivers, and 6 slots for cars.
3. If a friend has shared a car, it will be in one of those 6 slots. Click on it, press triangle, then borrow the car!

To share a car:
1. Go to your garage
2. Select a car
3. Press triangle, then select Share with Friends.

When you share a car with friends it becomes unavailable to use.
