i dont think majority of the GT players care about liveries in a racing sim even though i understand it's a huge plus in Forza...if i want livery editor i would just play need for speed underground tbh

I liked it when I could Racing mod my Ford KA into something cool, or Race Mod my Dodge Intrepid into a drag car. Even fixed racing mods like GT2 would be cool by me.

DLC details released. I was pretty excited when I first heard about DLC coming to GT5, but these DLC packs seem kinda lame.

The course pack is kinda weak. Only 2 courses (although they do look pretty interesting and its only $5)
And 4 of the new cars are Skylines ughhhh....

Everyone has an x1 now? That's kind of pointless; I don't know anyone that bothers to use it because it's so unfair in races. Maybe I'll use it to burn through some endurance races.

Just updated. Standard car interior view sucks. I knew it was going to be like this but I still don't like it.
I have noticed that the loading time is uber slow. I'll wait like 2 minute before I see the cursor arrow thingy at the home screen. I haven't raced yet but I still want to be able to change wheels on a standard car.

I'm choked, 4 days ago I restored my ps3 because of a HDMI issue, and I tried to play GT5 but it saved over my old file. So now I have to restart everything..

anyone experiencing loading problems?
like in the loading screen, the next screen appears before the loading bar is full (this has been around awhile)
also, the race sometimes loads too fast, and when i click "start race", the green flag sits there for 10 seconds before the race actually starts.
seems like the latter only started occurring after spec2

This is the first time anyone connected with Sony has confirmed more GT5 content will be coming beyond what’s currently on offer. The first batch of DLC, of course, brings 15 new cars and 2 new tracks, including Spa Francorchamps.

You might be under "My Courses" under the tabs, try going to "Original" "World Circuit" "City" "Dirt & Snow" etc.

i will test on the weekend to see if the g25/27 2nd gear is still bugged

- Corrected an issue where if a certain operation was performed when using a steering wheel controller with an H pattern gear shifter, the shift lever position, gear position display and the car operation would become mismatched. (On the Logitec G25 Racing Wheel, Logitech G27 Racing Wheel, and Guillemot T500RS + TH8RS Shifter.)

The new ones from Toyota/Subaru are expected to come in at around $26,000 USD (Approx. $28,000 CAD). Huge difference ... Right now, the Altima Coupe is Nissan's competition at that price point :heckno:

I need to get myself a sporty RWD car again soon because driving a Civic fucking sucks. Would prefer Nissan, but if all I can get is a used 350Z, I would consider another brand.

Need to start playing GT5 again, but GF re-arranged the living room and now I can't hook my wheel and pedals up :P

You know, sometimes I wish GT5 had an open road course. Like those old NFS Underground games where you can just drive around the city. I want something like that but on a larger scale. There should be an Autobahn course where you can just drive around the German highways and maybe a bit through the country side.

I dunno if this is a good idea or not but its just a thought. hah.

But then again, i also dont seem them dedcitating lots of time on doing anything that's not race oriented...so it might being end up half-assed and then make up some excuse on how they were rushed and couldn't finish all the premium models lol

I just played a little bit and the sound does not sound that great. In fact, it kind of sounds worse?

Tried a few cars.
98 Prelude SiR S-Spec. The sound was cracking at high RPM around 7-8000 RPM.
02 NSX-R. The sound seemed similar although I can't really notice a difference.
07 Miata. It actually sounds pretty neat! However, this is my first time driving it :p

All in all, there's not much to be excited about...

More updates to come I bet.

what's the best stats to begin with for your driver in B-spec ? really hot, really cold or somewhere in the middle? I stopped playing the game but I'm thinking of getting back into it

I haven't played the game in nearly a year, but hot was a better option because you didn't have to babysit it. With the cold drivers, unless you had a vastly superior car, you'd pretty much have to sit there and control everything. With the hot driver, you could pretty much let it go for however long and go do something else (i.e. watch TV, go on computer, or, if an endurance race, go to work, etc.) and there was a good chance you'd still win.

Hot drivers tend to push harder, so they fuck up more often, but generally not enough to offset vs. cold drivers or even the neutral drivers.

3) I didn't see an area for brake upgrades. Am I looking in the wrong spot? I'm in the GT tuning menu

4) Is there a faster way to acquire the Ferrari F1 than by saving $$? Is there an event that awards you the car?

5) Lastly, can someone give me their Honda Accord Euro R or type R? I think the TSX is in the game but haven't been able to spot in the used lot.

It just doesn't seem to be a complete game on first blush. GT2 was probably my favourite, not sure where this one stacks up.

on topic for the last question, the game is designed like that, sometimes you literally have to wait for cars to show up in the used car dealerships.... although they did almost completely remedy that issue by introducing the online used car dealer... i forget what it's called exactly since i havent touched the game in few months now

Even those with the awesomely detailed interiors are ruined as soon as a shadow is cast across the dash. Why they haven't fixed that awful pixelated shadow is beyond me.

Thanks guys. Such a shame as it is fun to play but just missing so many key elements that we'd expect from a game that has been in the works for half a decade.

First car I bought was an ITR which gave me a terrible impression when I selected the in-car view. Almost immediately went back to Forza LOL

you can win either the Formula GT or the F10 or F2007 when you finish all A-spec events (minus the enduros)

the silly thing is you can use the ferrari F1 in this game beside from one or two seasonal events and the practice runs.

i think if you are a long time gt player who's moved on to forza you will find the gameplay and mechanics archaic. The game does get quite rewarding as you progress through it though and the physics and photo realistic visuals is what keeps me playing this game regularly.

^ speaking of visuals and all that gotta say I've always been a GT player, never even played any Forza games until 4 came out now I own it...

I gotta say Forza 4 is graphically a better looking game, both cars and courses included.....
Obviously GT has them beat without a doubt when it comes to physics, but everything else, and I mean absolutely everything, from customization options to online features Forza is twice the game GT is...

this is very hard to swallow and even say coming from a lifelong Gran Turismo player, but the good news is it will force GT to step it's game up.... so now we just gotta wait another 7 or so years until the next GT to see if it catches up

The blacked out interiors on standard cars is a shame. Can't even change wheels on the Veyron, and they should have at least gave some of the more popular Standard cars nice interiors such as the Supra, n Veyron.

Also a "trick" to playing Special Stage Route X is online. When u first join the online lobby there is a list of servers, and usually there are a few that are on the track. You can join and race in there.

I have a white Accord Euro R, wats ur username?, that is the thing with the Used Car Dealer, sometimes the same car keeps coming up time and time again. I have been waiting forever for the Cerbera Speed 12 to show up...if you see this car buy it! Its a beast in terms of torque

Out of curiosity, what's everyone using for seasonal events? I am having problem with finding a nice 500 PP all arounder ...

400 PP - S2000 '00 with check engine light on, never changed oil, and detuned power to stay at 400 pp seems to do the trick for most of the tracks

500 PP - Espirit V8 & GTR (R34) R Tune, de-tuned the gtr to lower it to 500.

600 PP - don't recall atm

650 PP - Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car / Zonda LM
400 PP - Opel Speedster (no upgrades) with power dropped to 140 HP. Dominates the competition, even in B-Spec with an unattended level 20-something driver.

500 PP - Still trying to find a good fit. The Stratos Rally Car works well for my B-Spec driver, but I make too many mistakes in it.

650 PP - Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C06) RM with power dropped to 690 HP.

just bought a modd ps3 for less then $200cad in china & installing a game is only 5 bux each time :fullofwin:, but sadly no online for me :alone:

so no online for gt5 as well unless i update the game but seriously im not gonna pay 50bux for gt5:seriously:, but just im wondering whats the latest patch for gt5 cuz im not sure if they have it yet or not

Your premium ones can be bought again from the car dealer, no? I figured someone might want a fully-tuned car in exchange for a stock one if they were going to tune it anyways, since it would save hundreds of thousands of credits (plus less expensive for me).

No one wanted them, so I sold them all to get stock models :shrug:

Out of curiosity, what's everyone using for seasonal events? I am having problem with finding a nice 500 PP all arounder ...

400 PP - S2000 '00 with check engine light on, never changed oil, and detuned power to stay at 400 pp seems to do the trick for most of the tracks

500 PP - Espirit V8 & GTR (R34) R Tune, de-tuned the gtr to lower it to 500.

600 PP - don't recall atm

650 PP - Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car / Zonda LM

400 and 500 PP you can use the premium acura nsx, too easy lol
you always want an AWD car or mid engine so you can turn off traction, and the other helpers

for the 600, by far the best is the chapparal 2J, it costs about 12mil used though
i got lucky and received it with a ticket....

that's the biggest 'cheat' car for sure, it will beat any 600pp

I play a couple of times per week as well. Haven't done any online racing for about a year though. I may start tuning cars in the online lobby; the physics are a little different between online and offline.

I can't stand the online stuff and already completed the offline stuff a while ago, so I haven't played in a while. Also, my gaming time is pretty much consumed by NHL 13 and PC games.

Haven't played GT5 for so long. It's weird because as soon as I got a wheel, I lost all interest in GT5. Probably because it didn't support the wheel at the time (G27, which is supported now from what I understand).

Anything new over the last year?

I FIXED MY Logitech G25! The optical encoder disc was cracked so I had to open up the Logitech G25 and replace it. Made some YouTube videos on how to replace it too.
I just finished doing some free runs around Nurburgring with my NA2 NSX-R. Man, it feels so good to get behind that G25 again.

Good deal on the G27. Hope GT6 will fix the game menus and car sounds. Also hope they bring back the online race lobbies from gt5 prologue. Those were the days when it was quick and easy to find a race without spending a century looking for a race room.

That's a possibility. But I'm guessing it is going to be released on PS3 if the release scheme is anything like before. Polyphony usually had 2 games per console, but I guess the PS3 could be the first exception. I'll probably create a GT6 thread tmr. I want to see wat other members want for the upcoming game.

might as well be released along side the ps4 since we're not too far off from the ps4 launch IF it means better graphics and FASTER LOAD TIMES

Welp guys it's official! GT6 will be coming this holiday season on the PS3!! I'm a bit skeptical about it releasing on time as well, but this time they aren't starting the game from scratch like how they did for GT5, so it might actually be able to release somewhat on time?
