March 2010 was their first set date for release..everything else you saw was BS speculation. Yes it's been forever since GT4 and I bought my system in 2007 just to play this game...disappointed but I know this game will be close to perfect when it comes out.

Prologue is great, you finally get a taste of online on a GT game...enough cars but not enough tracks
PD also said there's a probability you can transfer cars/credits into the full-game. But since we're probably only half a year to the real thing it might not be worth it to get prologue unless you can find it for $15

I believe that is correct, all the cars and stuff were done quite a while ago it's the damage that's taking forever. Which is gonna be nuts because yeah damage is cool when it's cookie cutter like that it loses its edge after you've crumpled your car the exact same way a million times.

Weird thing, I played prolgue and it held my interest for about 30 mins.

Reading from this http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/gran-turismo-5-e3-2010-hands-on, they talk about how the interior is created "down to the stitching." I would think that it refers to the cockpit view (dash, seating etc...)

But I drive with the bumper cam anyways, the cockpit view is eyecandy at most, since having an additional set of hands on a wheel in front of my hands on a wheel just adds so much more confusion, and the inability to look into corners is hard with the car's pillars in the way. Maybe I should give it another go now that head tracking has been confirmed :D

Mugen the differences are in the shifter, it's more solid and much better now, and also more buttons on the steering wheel, plus those cool LED shift lights on the steering wheel as well. Probably a few other things I'm missing out as well

Someone on this forum modded his Playseat so it had inverted pedals.
One thing I like about GT5 is it allows 2 steering wheels, So when playing 2 players with friends you can race side by side.. Its acctually fun I'm currently doing this with my 2 G25 and prologue... G27 is nice and all but i love my sequential shifting for LFS and plus i modded my shifter so it shifts with the same feel like the G27.

One thing I like about GT5 is it allows 2 steering wheels, So when playing 2 players with friends you can race side by side.. Its acctually fun I'm currently doing this with my 2 G25 and prologue... G27 is nice and all but i love my sequential shifting for LFS and plus i modded my shifter so it shifts with the same feel like the G27.

Yea I know its already possible to do all those mods I listed without having that guy's setup. But everything flows so nicely on his setup.

I cant seem to map the wheel keys, all left ones are L2 and all right ones are R2, iirc. Also the led tach isnt even compatible with gt5p, afaik.

The pedals do have a slight tilt, was scared puting anymore than that would be too much

You can sign up for TDU2 Beta trials.. Althought it only works like 2 days a week. Becuase thats all they allow for beta tests and they are specific dates.. I have a beta trial and hate waiting for trials to open just to play.. But so far game is okay but has lots of bugs which is why the beta is out.

GT5 delay due to PS3 hack?

The delay to Sony's Gran Turismo 5 is a result of the recent PlayStation 3 hack causing Sony to shift manufacturing of game discs, an alleged insider has revealed.

Sony announced earlier this week that Gran Turismo 5 would not make its published 2nd November release date, claiming, "creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality."

That might not be entirely true however, according to a post on Blu-Ray.com's forums from a senior moderator called Maximus with alleged links to Sony.


"The problem arose when SCE mandated SDK 350 on all games releasing after October," reads the post. "GT5 was about to go gold running on SDK 341, but it has been delayed by around a week so that they can update to SDK 350.

"This has caused a big headache for the manufacturing side, given how big this game is missing the gold date by even a week can cause a months worth of delay as slots are already taken up at this time of year for Blu-ray movies and such. So Sony had to find a three week slot big enough to make seven million+ copies of this and get them shipped out."

"If you want to blame anyone, I would direct it at the pirates and hackers," the post adds. "SCE never had any real SDK restrictions before firmware 3.41 was compromised."

The original post has now been taken down from the forum.

We've reached out to Sony for comment.

Gran Turismo 5 will now launch on PlayStation 3 "before Christmas."

I was just doing some thinking...In the time that GT5 has taken to release (announced late 2005), 6 Call of duty games will(between 2 developers) have dropped, 3 Forza games, 3 Halos, 3 God of war games (not including the 2 psp games).

Lost pretty much started and ended in the same duration( '04 - 10, Gt5 will be '05-11).

I know this games development hasn't been as long as Duke Nukem, but it's been worked on constantly for 6 straight years (not on and off like Nukem)!!! LOL, we can only assume that this game will blow our minds, YLOD our PS3s and possibly end the modern world as we know it.

Heavy Rain and Mafia 2 both took around 5 years...and the latter ended up being a disappointment for most.

obviously a direct comparsion can't be drawn as heavy rain's developer is much smaller compared to Polyphony Digital
