Season 1 was lame. With the exception of the first episode, not very much was from the comic.

If S2 goes with the source material, they should meet with some new survivors (since some of the cast at the beginning of the comic wasn't at the campsite) and then stumble across a gated community...where a sign is conveniently covered by snow.

People who complain about British accents over script quality obviously don't know what they're talking about.

Dead Set > Walking Dead (Season 1) because it actually felt like a goddamn zombie show. Zombie plot > Best friend banging your wife plot as a major plot.

Nonetheless, I'm still stoked for Walking Dead season 2. I'm just hoping there will be more zombie action.

Quite surprised that AMC is so cheap, ever since they gave Mad Men all that money, they've been cutting back on Walking Dead AND Breaking Bad, two shows that

a) Has higher ratings (Walking Dead)

it's not uncommon to see cuts. It's all about advertising and the money that comes in. You have to realize they spend so much more time on not just prepping but the crazy hours on makeup.

Imagine filming 24, the office, entourage etc... you just get everything ready and you shoot. But with walking deal, you have to put makeup on everyone and they want to do it outdoors instead of a green room.

it's all about money. I can see how budgets are crazy and sky rocketing on this show in particular.

COMIC SPOILERS AHEAD

Rick comes back to Atlanta to find Morgan a couple years (I think) later. He finds him but the kid has been zombified. Morgan heard him scream but was too late to save him. He keeps him chained up and feeds him in the house they live in but Rick convinces Morgan to go with the group. Morgan tries to kill his zombie kid but ends up just unchaining him and letting him loose before taking off with Rick.

But...this show seems to be taking a different direction from the comics. There are apparently new characters not found in the comics so the storyline might be very different in the future. That's probably the direction they're going because some of the shit that happens in the comic is too gruesome for TV, IMO.

I had to rewind to see if I was right. If it's an Easter egg, then that's pretty cool. AMC owns The Walking Dead (unlike Mad Men and Breaking Bad) so it wouldn't surprise me if they put that in there for fun.

Again, zombies are not the focus of The Walking Dead...it's all about the characters. What's the difference? Humans in other zombie flicks are simply bags of guts that haven't been eaten or zombified yet. The Walking Dead is a character drama much like...how Mad Men is about people that happen to work at an ad agency...it's not about advertising. Also, the "villain" of The Walking Dead isn't the zombies.

So if you're hoping for Dawn of the Dead, I think you're going to be disappointed...and I've read 90 issues of the comic so I have a pretty good idea where this is going.

last season when they were around the camp fire before half of the group got killed...and this past episodes when the old hag and the injured dude was chatting outside the RV

A smart idea would have been to turn on the police car siren, and bring the flares with them to use after they're done. What disappointed me was that they were pretty consistent what the abilities of the zombies for the entire show so far. Shane and Otis running as fast as they could in episode 2 still couldn't gain enough distance from the zombies. But now that they are both limping and slow the zombies STILL can't catch them. Wtf??? Not to mention the time he took wrestling with Otis was like a minute long. Zombies shoulda caught up for sure.

No at this point both guys were using their handguns so Otis could have indeed shot
Shane.

I'm guessing he was in too much shock and has yet comprehended the situation fully. Not to mention he just got shot and was in pain.

the zombies in ep 2 were definitely faster than the majority of the walkers we've seen so far...i think kirkman explained that the fresh zombies can move faster...while the older zombies that have died a while back are stiffer (rigamortis sp?)

Still...i agree that the zombies should've caught up with them even as they are shooting down the ones that were getting closer. You were right that they should've been easily caught up when they were both down wrestling.

I don't understand peoples complaints about zombie killing and whatnot. This isnt a 2 hour movie. Its a Television show. IF every episode was just killing zombies it would last 1 seasons. what show is? It has a great story line and it's more of a real life scenario what we might do if this actually happened. I enjoy thinking while watching a show thats true entertainment. If people don't like it it's their loss in the long run.
