Since the Governor was announced to be in the next season a lot of things seem to be headed towards what happens in the comic

Shane is starting to lose it with the group. Dale mentions to Rick how Carl is becoming desensitized to killing and it was shown in the episode when he appears to try and watch his dad kill the prisoner. I think Shane is going to snap and nearly kill Rick only to be shot by Carl :accepted:

I can also see the group of 30 being talked about as being the Governor's people. And Rick stepping down as leader to form a committee

But then again it has deviated fairly far from the comic, so I'm probably totally wrong.

My wife loves Dale's character while I totally hate him.
We both agree that if the world has become what it is, then survival of the fittest but in my mind, it would be total anarchy.
No one is there to be judge or jury and if it means keeping everyone in the pack safe, then so be it especially knowing that there is a group of 30 men who is heavily armed and will do nasty things to the women.

i read the Rise of the Governor novel and while i havent read any of the comics, i still found it really interesting. there are lots of similarities to the show in that its a story about a group of people who have no clue whats going on but figure out pretty quick that you gotta do WHATEVER you gotta do to survive. judging from what I hear about governor, he is one BAMF. Can't wait for him to be introduced next year

As noble as Dale's outlook on humanity is, I totally disagree with him. I've really against rape. Not because I've been raped before or know anyone who has but I just think it's wrong, worse than death. And if I found out the kid was with a group of people who raped 2 teenage girls? Fuck that, Imma shoot that mother fucker. Ain't NO ONE touching the women that I love or women I care about. That's the lowest form of scumbagery and I won't tolerate it.

As for this episode, despite lack of action it was pretty good. Why? Because we felt danger to the group unlike the first 8 episodes where they were safe on the farm. They gotta worry now about 30 guys taking everything away from them and of course the governor which I'm pretty damn sure is connected to that group by the way the kid described it + what I read in the comics + them announcing that the governor is in the next season and there is only a few episodes left in this season. They were talking bout stuff that progresses the show and stuff that matters. Not stories about how Maggie and his sister used to fight or go swimming together or whatever.

Now that we finally turned Andrea into a badass, Rick into a seimi-badass (but he'll get there), Hershall on his way there, and Carl looking like he's gonna be there soon, things are looking goooooood.

if you remember in the episode where rick and shane go to kill randall in a fenced off area, Rick finds two dead officers laying side by side and says "these two don't have any bite marks". In the latest episode during the wood scene, they turn over a zombies and mention it doesn't have any bite marks either.

Were you sure that randall turned into a zombie? I might just be losing it, but i don't remember that part at all. Can anyone confirm?

Once you die, you turn into a zombie. It doesn't matter if you get bit, scratched, neck broken, etc. From what I've read in the comics, they haven't found out where it came from yet.

Perhaps the reason why Carl did not tip off his dad about the walker behind him was because of his loss of confidence and respect for himself. In the last episode, his encounter with the walker, who eventually killed Dale, proved that he was a coward and incapable of not only protecting his crewmembers, but also himself, despite the multiple occasions where both Shane and Rick pushed him to be more independent (e.g. training him to use and carry a firearm).

When Carl was pointing his gun at the walker (oblivious to Rick), I want to believe that Carl wasn’t a completely useless and senseless being in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested world and, instead, simply wanted to prove to his dad and, more importantly, to himself that he is capable of protecting his own. If this is in fact true, then I think it was totally sensible for Carl to not have said anything as Rick would have indefinitely intervened before Carl could have made that precise head-shot. Once that shot was made, Carl almost immediately reinstated the courage and respect lost earlier within him.

Now that it's revealed in the show, yes, the zombie infection is independant of bites, scratches, etc. If you die, you come back as a zombie. Everyone has already been infected. The zombie bites induce high fever and kill you.

The source of the infection hasn't been revealed (and probably won't be) in the comics.

And there is a possible explanation to the huge group of zombies in the forest that was talked about in the comics.


Zombies wandering see other zombies who are trying to some place like inside a house or something will follow suit and do the same. Even if that zombie wasn't trying to get in the house and only brushed the door knob by accident or something, if others see that they will think that zombie was trying to get in the house. Then conversely, the zombie who accidentally brushed the door knob will turn around and see the zombie trying to get in the house and do the same. Next thing you know you have a crap load of zombies trying to get in.

This also applies to zombies going in a certain direction. Eventually zombies will pack together and keep walking on the same direction following each other. Maybe they run into another pack of zombies and they will all go in the same direction.

A possibility to why there was suddenly a group of zombies near the farm when they weren't there before is that these could have been the zombies from the town where Rick saved that prisoner. They saw the direction the car drove off and started walking that way. It probably took them a while but eventually they got close enough to the farm to hear Carl's gun shot.

when Rick was talking about it getting colder he said something to the effect of "its going to start getting colder soon. winter will come" 2 episodes ago or so. This week Hershel said the swamp is drying up. Logic would point to both of these meaning its probably late summer. So fall (cooler weather is coming) and its been a long summer (no rain for the swamp)

My opinion: it could be an airborne vector (virus) that only attacks decomposing human tissue, specifically, the brain and uses humans as a host to perpetuate its life.

The bites kill you from loss of blood. If something took a chunk out of your body it's likely that it'll rip a major artery. With no surgeons around, you're probably dead in 30 minutes.

Bites do NOT transfer the "zombie disease". Well, they might but that's irrelevant. The bite is what kills you. You get a fever and die like that redneck dude in the 1st season.

EVERYONE already has the zombie disease but they don't turn into zombies until they die.

I think you're watching the show for the wrong reasons...

It's already been beat to death but the story isn't about zombies, its about the change in humanity in desperate situations. The style of the story is more on characterization and emotion than action.

I'm going to go on a limb and say G-Spec is aware of that otherwise he wouldn't have lasted thsi long and is still hoping for more action.

I'm kind of in the same boat, I understand that the show isn't about just kiling zombies but with that said the total lack of no action is a bit bunk at times. Don't get me wrong I still love the show and it's great but sometimes it feels like I've gone episodes without even seeing a zombie.

I agree with that. This Ranch saga is taking way too long. The whole thing was only 3 chapters in the comic haha. I know what you're saying, they drag the story on too much.

There's also some episodes that just don't add much to the story like Dale dying. I don't see how that progressed the story, it's more like they killed him off just for the irony of that episode.

I think it's because they expected Rick to be honorable and reveal what he knew in the first place. I also think it's because they see him as the leader, so he happens to be a lightning rod for blame from everyone. The group just went through a ton of crap in that episode, and to hear they're all carriers may have made their tempers/frustrations boil over.

Rick definitely showed some attitude. He's no longer entirely a black or white character. The events affected him too, so he's defensive, for most of the right reasons. I suppose he's tired of taking crap and not dispensing it.

Hershel must've had that unlimited ammo hack on his shotgun...

Actress Danai Gurira to Play Michonne in The Walking Dead Season 3

AMC announced during Talking Dead tonight that actress Danai Gurira (The Visitor, Ghost Town) will play the role of Michonne in The Walking Dead Season 3. Michonne makes a brief appearance in the Season 2 Finale as the hooded stranger who wields a Katana sword and rescues Andrea from an attacking walker.

I wonder why Merle is coming back... I also wonder how they're going to do some major story plots for the TV series. Some of the major points in the comics are pretty graphic.


Think they'll find Tyrese at the prison? or did Daryl pretty much replace him especially with his slight love interest with Carol?

I guess Patricia won't be playing a part in the prison mutiny either since she's dead...

I was hoping after Carl killed Shane he would have turned into a badass like the comics too but he's still a little bitch. I REALLY don't get why Lori was giving Rick the stink eye when he told her that he killed Shane. What the hell is her problem? She's starting to piss me off but I guess she gets annoying in the comics too.

I recommend fans of the show to read the comics. They're really intense and it's a good read. I finished 1-90 in about a week because I couldn't stop reading.

Fuck Lori. Every thought she has is completely irrational. If it weren't for the strong characters all around her like Rick, Shane, Glenn, etc, she would've been dead long ago.

Since the Governor's group is going to be in the 3rd season I can imagine Merle having joined them which will cause some interesting conflicts.

Michonne is a badass in so many ways. She used to be a lawyer but acknowledges how much the world has changed and adjusted with it. She kills everything with a fuck samurai sword. She's survived for as long as the group has on her own and the two zombies she has chained up (if I remember correctly) were her husband and stepson and she has them to avoid attention from the walkers. :fuckyea:

so... i watched the season two finale tonight and have been laying awake in bed thinking about something... if everyone is already infected and the disease only takes effect once you are dead, could you theoretically survive a small zombie bite if treated immediately? or does the bite trigger the infection/fever which ultimately kills you? also, why didn't those guys rick killed inside the bar ever come back to life? shane turned in a matter of seconds! :considered:

yea from what I remember at that medical facility when the doctor was explaining how the zombies operate, the only part of the brain that was active was a section of the frontal lobe responsible strictly for movement and instinct. None of the other parts of the brain showed any activity whatsoever, so it kind of bugs me when I see them get hacked in the side or back of the head and get killed right away.

But I mean even in living humans science has proven there are literally sections of the brain that can be cut out and we would still retain normal operation..
Also Dr. Hannibal Lecter showed us as well, lol

But it's not a big deal to me, as long as zombies are gettin killed 's all good
