As dumb as the plotholes are, it's better than all the emotional weeping and moaning the last season was all about. I like that it is more about fighting zombies, and they really cranked up the gore which is cool.

someone killed them probably because they'd rather not risk seeing if they'll turn or they're just crazy killers

Also the fact that Rick uses gasoline to set the pig shed on fire is crazy to me. Unless the show mentions somewhere how they figured out how to extract and refine gasoline, then I'm pretty sure it would be a hot commodity.
To add to that, they're gonna have to use water, which is scarce as fuck, to put out the fire which doesn't seem to be controlled.....
I guess they've reached the point where they can easily go out and get shit?
But then if you continue to think about it, your head is going to spin.

I think it's the messed up girl that got upset about 'nick' dying. The one that tried to kill her dad with the knife.
She seems attached to the zombies, perceives them more as pets, and it would make sense for her to feed them.

She's not feeding them though, whoever is doing it is giving them a bite, and leaving the rest there in order to build a huge group of them in one spot. Presumably this is being done with the intent to break down the fence...
I doubt it's outsiders either, since it's being done from the inside

I was just watching it and thinking what I would have done with conditions as they are and other groups out there raiding for resources you take anything and everything you can especially meds like Rick told Carol "take everything and let the doc decide"
With regard to the tomato plants like i said they should've uprooted the plants and brought em along with conditions as they are they can't exactly keep them there and return hoping they can simply harvest more veggies later on

So odds are, 1 of them won't make it back...
(or to the end of the season).
Is it just me, or does it seem like they prioritize their resources really poorly?
1. They should be hoarding their gas, and scrounging up more on every supply run.
No comic books, or clothing supplies, gas is important.
Fire is important and getting cars to run, that's extra important.
speaking of which, why is Darryl working on the car outside?
You'd think they would at least have covered shed for that.
2. They should be hoarding their bullets.
I see them fire them off willy-nilly and that just seems insane.
Sure, it's America, but they haven't exactly hit the motherload in ages.
3. Why do they leave the walkers at the fence?
What the hell is everybody else doing inside?
Bring everybody out, 2x a day, stabby, stabby and you don't have bites-waiting-to-happen outside your bloody gate.
At the ease they are killing them safe behind the fence, even the old, women and children can help.
4. Good lord, how are they still just using knives.
So many times, I see them struggle with penetration, or getting the knife stuck in the zombies. The first thing somebody does in the wild is make a bloody spear.
Michonne has already demonstrated the lethality of a weapon with reach.
Didn't they secure a good stash of rifles? How hard would it be to jury rig on a bayonet with what seems to be their endless supply of combat knives?
5. Quartermaster.
They need a gawddamn quartermaster and armorer.
I have no idea who is managing their weapons, but they need to get to a soccer shop and get some gawd damn shinpads.
And really? Whole prison complex with hundreds of units, and they can't make one of these?
http://zombease.com/2012/10/24/the-pummel-pipe-anti-zombie-melee-weapon/dsc_4377/#mainhttp://zombease.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/dsc_43271.jpg
They can make raise pigs, build a pen and have a cute little veggie garden, but they can't be a little creative and properly arm their raiding parties?
They all deserve to end up like Sophia.
If logic and rational thought went into The Walking Dead, it will become the most boring show ever. The Walking Dead Zombies are so easy to kill, they should be in paradise right now, but nooo...
Imagine if they had 28 days later zombies, the show wouldn't last 1 minute.

i always thought the safest place to be would be on the water (assuming walkers can't swim of course). rig up a bunch of rafts/boats together to make some sort of huge boat house community, anchor that shit 500 meters off shore and paddle to land when needed. kinda like the movie 'waterworld'. even if they don't drown i'd assume they would just wander the sea floor.

It honestly doesn't look like a twist. The writers really messed up on this one, cause it made total sense and wasn't so obvious. What I thought was, the little girl was the one feeding the walkers since she's so obsessed with them. Then it so happens that Karen died after Carol gave her the knife. I thought of it as a revenge killing since the disease caused the father's death. She turns out as some crazy psycho serial killer within the prison. Also, the kid didn't even look sick at all from the past 2 episodes. That lead me to believe that she faked her sickness and tried to kill everyone inside the cell block. Guess not. Now judging from the previews, it's all about the disease. It's still early into the season. They haven't given an explanation for the dead mice. Or...the producers really suck.
Anyone else think this woulda been way cooler than the boring ass episodes we've been given.

Had a theory,
What if Karen was secretly spying on the group for the governor? Deployed a virus that the governor manufactured in his lab, and then faked her death. In the episode (Home) when the governor attacked the prison, a truck ran through the fence and dropped off a bunch of walkers, it was discussed that the driver of the truck had the figure and run of a female. This explains why the governor didn't kill/shoot her during the massacre.
anyways, theory crashed and burned when I asked myself, "Why would Carol cover for Karen ?" :okay:

this is why the show is failing. writer's are just making this show a drama between the characters rather than what we all loved during the first season where it was the people vs zombies.
StylinRed
11-07-2013, 09:12 PM
well what made classic zombie films classics was the portrayal of how the people dealt with their emotions and their relationships the zombies were just there and eventually overwhelmed the survivors but it was the "drama between characters" that made those films
it's the same in the walking dead comics
but i agree the show could do with some more "OH SHIT ITS ZOMBIES, PEOPLE!!! AAAHH!!!"

10-year old girl kills two adults, albeit sick ones, and single-handedly drags two corpses at least 50 meters outside fast enough that no one noticed?
Not saying it isn't possible but I have a hard time believing a sick little girl is strong enough to drag an adult corpse that far.
It's just as hard to believe one zombie ate Lori's entire body but it happened

Rick and Carl's scene of just standing there and shooting reminded me of left 4 dead 2.

Rick and Carl's scene of just standing there and shooting reminded me of left 4 dead 2.
So basically, instead of spending weeks doing the dumb wall thing, they could've just shot the shit out of all of them and preserved the fence.
Talk about being reactive rather than proactive.

^I dont think 50 walkers have been standing at the fence for weeks. Did you notice when Daryl and the others were driving, there were literally thousands of them walking towards the prison? It keeps coming and coming and coming. Preserving bullets, and shoring up the walls should have been priority.
The little girl actually did a fantastic job of drawing the walker away from Glen too. But fuck shes still creepy
And Hershel is doing whatever he can do to hold on to some semblance of decency.
I thought it was a pretty good ep. And guess whos back!
Also, in the opening 'last time on the walking dead...' sequence, the clearly showed a full grown person, likely Carol, dragging the bodies down the hall. So no more of that covering for the little girl shit. Dont know if they showed that in the past episodes or not?

I don't think a show set in India would appeal to American audiences but spin-offs wouldn't surprise me. Kirkman goes through characters quickly so if they just...reset, they could have a fresh show every time the current characters get stale.

Spoilered since I don't want to derail this thread anymore than it has been :p
Basically it started out as a fantastic show, which the network obviously knew. However, instead of letting it end on a high note, they dragged it out, season after season, thinner plot after thinner plot, just to get some more money and mileage out of the show. The series finale episode was such a huge let down that it makes the ending of Lost look genius :lol
Check the Dexter thread for more info.

It's becoming a bit much that after every episode, there is always a handful of people that whine about it. EVERY TIME.

Get over it, if they are going to take a show that I thought was really good in the first 1.5 seasons and slowly kill it like this I have every right to come onto this site and rant and rave about it. Maybe you should get out of this thread if you don't like people giving their honest opinion about the show.
Most people who watch this show have not read the comics, so they are perfectly happy watching this BS that is currently being put out. The truth is if you go read the comics, this show could be a blockbuster, it could be on the same level of breaking bad. Instead its going the way of lost and dexter (I didn't watch but from what I have heard the situation is similar).
On another note I am with most others, the last governor episode was extremely refreshing. Hopefully it leads to something, I think the people in the prison need something besides the zombies to keep me interested.

I have no issue with people giving their opinions on the show/episodes, (I agree with you about the last episode btw), but how many times do people have to post: "This show sucks now" or "This episode sucked"? At least elaborate a little.
For those that are into the comics, there is a separate thread for them isn't there? I avoid it because I don't want any spoilers, although it sounds like nothing would be spoiled as the two really aren't that much alike.

I get it though, I can see the frustration when the entire post is just:
"This show sucks"
That is certainly not the type of post I am condoning, but if the person comes in and defends their point and produces a somewhat intelligent response beyond that then I see no problem.
Also I don't think there is a seperate thread for the comic, as I do not know how many people on RS actually read them, but I really do urge everyone too. The comics are truly brilliant, if you liked why this show was so good in the first season, the comics will really be a good read.

Little girl gets bit in the shoulder and dies? That didn't make sense at all!
Posted via RS Mobile
In season 1 they explained if you get bit you will get a fever and die, that's probably what happened.
That was an epic episode, one that we were all anticipating to see.
Thought they would kill off another main character or supporting character from the prison, like Bob.
Can't wait till february and see what happens since they are all scattered now.

She could have just passed out due to shock, loss of blood, the fever...
It is reasonable.
What was not reasonable was the whole fight scene.
And the part where I actually lol'd was when Carl said he could take out the Governor from 50 yards away with his shot gun.. lol. That was just way too funny.

the girl dying is not even the slightest bit of a plot hole. she could have bled out, mom could have stabbed her, mom could have shot her. anything could have happened, its not the point. the producers expect the viewer to be at least a little bit intelligent enough to figure out she died. THE POINT IS the governor wasn't there to protect them like he promised and she died. making the mom realize hes full of shit and giving her a real reason to finish him.
i was a little disappointed that the people around the governor didn't question what was going on after he chopped hershels head off. especially after rick giving his speach showing he probably wasnt the big bad guy the governor made him out to be, and that the governor, in fact, was the bad guy.
lots of feels in this episode

In regards to the whole fight scene. I just meant how the whole thing started was a stretch for me. How those people would so easily engage in a war. Everything else seemed okay to me, except when that little girl shot the girl in the head. That seemed like a stretch.

Best episode in a while. That young girl is awesome. Hope she plays a bigger part in February.
I knew I clung on to this show for a good reason. Shit that was intense. Hershel went in the worst possible way. I felt sick to my stomach.

Wow. Okay...that was a great episode.
I was repeating "No...no...no..." when the kid was sitting in the mud and a zombie came out. Seriously, fuck. Let's let our kids play 100 yards away from us unprotected during the zombie fucking apocalypse.
So many feels. And everyone is split up? Glenn is on the bus. Maggie is with Bob and Sasha. Tyrese is with the kids with guns. Daryl and Beth. Carl and Rick.
I seriously thought that...
Beth would run out of the prison holding Judith and she'd get shot like Lori did in the comics.

holy fuck great ep :ahwow:
Great episode...
except for one part, anyone notice how when Michonne and Herchel are captured and in the RV. they have their hands tied up with cloth, they can still move around and shit. When the governor leaves the RV, wouldn't they just be able to untie each since their hands are tied in front of them.
Other than that... im looking forward to see where the group(s) go next...

so the girls just let Rick's baby to fend for herself?
good episode...showing the governor shoot the little girl was a bit over the top
yeah we already know the governor has nothing to lose...not going to say it's jumping the shark but felt it was trying too hard to create that shock value
i do like the fact that the mom got the last shot at the governor...and of course Herschel's brutal death slash

Great episode. The only thing that was missing which maybe I just missed:
Did Rick lose his hand?
The only reason that is important to me is because he loses it earlier on in the comics and I was hoping this EP would be the day they start moving back towards the plot of the comics. You know since they clearly proved that the plots they were making were pretty crap.

HOLY SHIT what an episodeeeee!
Honestly, I'm not much of a 'retributive justice' guy (unless its something really serious)...but fuck if I were Michonne I'd torture the hell outta the Governor and then think of a way to decapitate him, slowly.

I know they had to kill Judith to be true to the comics.... But that was such a bad way to kill her. What was the point of getting her born in the first place.
I love how they also prepared a tank just to follow the comics storyline.

wait the baby is dead? they just showed an empty carrying cradle no? thought rick n carl were just jumping to conclusions
COMIC DISCUSSION
i know the baby dies in the comic but it just didn't look like that happened
and as for Ricks hand the writer said he wished he didn't do that in the comics so i hope that's something they dont do in the show because it really put a damper on everything imo

Cradle was covered in blood but I didn't see any...gore so it's pretty ambiguous. I don't think the girls would've just left the baby there before they armed up.

My money is on baby is still alive.
My money is that Lori is still alive
People are reading way too much into Judith's death.. Kirkman has a thing for ambiguous endings because it makes things more "realistic"

I don't even think they really have time to even react. Hershel got sliced, pause, rick shoots, and then all hell breaks loose. It's all fight or flight response at that moment.

Of course the baby isn't dead.
Also kind of sad the govoner is dead now cause his story line was infinitely more interesting than the stupid prison side. At least the prison part is done now, gotta say I was rooting for the gov last few episodes lol
Rick is just a terrible character and that part when him and Carl were crying? Uhggg...

i would have thought that one would need to be proficient with a katana blade to decapitate in a single blow. seemed reasonable to me that he hack to hack it off like he did.
and :lol at lauryn hill comment. i knew she looked like someone...couldn't put my finger on it.

Pretty sure they're not going to show a baby getting eaten/killed or a dead baby corpse. That would definitely get a ton of backlash.
I hope they go straight into the Hunters arc. That was my favourite one so far but it looks like they're setting up for a filler arc. :okay:

Was just looking at the actor cast for Abraham, kinda disappointed. Not big and imposing looking (from the shots that have been released) and also during the comics I forgot that he's supposed to be a ginger and just thought of him with white hair

they didn't even show the baby just sitting there, or a walker walking towards her. even just 1 second of a shot to lead you to believe she was in danger. unless i missed something.
they didn't show anything other than a cleverly placed empty baby seat AFTER it was all over. thats like textbook "get the viewer wondering which of 2 events happened."
i mean shit, the baby seat wasn't even knocked over.
i give it 80/20 the baby still alive. if the seat was knocked over, 50/50. if they showed a walker walking towards it, 20/80.

You might be right. I just realized Judith wasn't in the "in memory of" segment on the talking dead. Kirkman also dodged the question when asked on the talking dead... My level of confidence that Judith is dead has gone from 99% to 50% lol
Also the sleuths at roamersandlurkers think Tyrese has Judith. Looks like he's holding something in this gif
