my wife will be all over that yogurt deal...at least i can take that to work rather than eating holloween chocolates...
This week's awesome find/deal.....
For those who like imitation crab (kani-bo - for making sushi) Superstore has $1.50 off Seaquest 454g King Crab flavoured flakes or sticks coupons (tearpad at front of store). Not bad a deal, but if you go to the No Frills in Coquitlam, they have the stuff on sale - $3.88. With coupon from Superstore, it comes out to $2.38. $2.38 for a pound of that shit is not bad. The stuff freezes well, too.
Now, I'm not sure if the stuff is on sale at all No Frills. It's not advertised in their weekly flyer. Needless to say, these coupons disappear quickly. Like the Rule of Costco (get 'em while you can), you have to take a handful of the coupons while you can - 'cause chances are, they will go on sale another week. This particular coupon is good until the 16th of November and has been up for a while.

Safeway has a dozen Large eggs for $2 each. Limit 2 (3 day sale until sunday)
Also, the broadway/commercial location is still selling their 2L chocolate milk for $2.
Pricesmart (Grandview and Rupert) has some Hons potstickers (beef, chicken, pork, vegetarian) 4/$4.96 on sale (12pc = 335g a bag)
Poong dumplings (kimchi or vegetable) 50pc 675g for $2.28
Enjoy!

Before posting this on RFD im gonna put this here first.
Dollarama has a sale on Rain-X Wiper blades for a pretty damn good price of 3 bucks each.
No stock at Granville location, none at Kingsway and Knight, finally found them at richmond Bridgeport location.
They have sizes 16,18,20,22,24 no odd numbers but they will fit. Go get em before all the RFDers buy em in bulk.

[Auto] Dollarama: Rain-X Winter Wiper Blades $3 - RedFlagDeals.com Forums (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/dollarama-rain-x-winter-wiper-blades-3-a-1257508/)
Someone in the thread mentioned the limited shelf life of the rubber blades. Have you tried them on your car yet?

Dammit lol thought i was first to find out haha i was looking to buy some tape and randomly came across it. Even searched at RFD and didnt see anything.
Yea they work pretty darn good, super quiet. No chattering or squeaks at all so far. The rubber was still soft and everything a new blade should be. For 3 bucks though? Who cares if they dont last a long time.
Hon's Pot Stickers on sale at Price Smart.
4 bags for $4.96.
Only at the Price Smart under Canadian Tire on Grandview Hwy.
Each bag has 12 potstickers and comes with sauce. Only two flavours left - Chicken/Vegetable and Pork/Vegetable. No limit, either. Expires 02, 2013 to 04, 2013, so it's not old or anything. It looks like new packaging....... possibly promo?
Lots left when I got there. As soon as I started filling my cart with the stuff, all these Asian people converged to check it out, LOL.
I think they have more in the back. If you like Hon's pot stickers, now's the time to stock up.
Marks "buy 100 dollar gift card and get 20 bucks gift card" promo is back again.
I bought two of them. Actually, there was a limit of one per person, so I got wife to get the other one. Also picked up the 10 dollar off cards for December, too.

Did you go check them out after reading my post? :p
I'm surprised they only have the 2 flavours left. I thought the pork would've
been the first to sell out.
^ wow......... I never even noticed it. I did go to Safeway on Broadway for the chocolate milk, thanks to you.
I don't usually go to Price Smart. I got into an argument with management there. They weren't going to honour their price match policy - told me No Frills was a small company and they only matched prices from large companies like Wal Mart. I told them to take their ads down, because they were misleading. Ths was a year or so ago.
I went there yesterday to redeem coupons. Just to make their life miserable, LOL. I went to get free 4 pack Liberté yogurt and Catelli Smart using facebook coupons.
I guess I should have read your post more carefully :okay:.

Plus, this thread is local........... references to Donald's Market, Chong Lee, etc.
I had the Hon's pot stickers last night. Sooooo good - for what it is (Frozen).
Speaking of Chong Lee, if you use Tiger Balm, it's about the cheapest place to get 'em. Grey market stuff by the looks of it.

Bought on this past January, definitely helps especially in these moths where it is still dark at 6-7am. Key thing is to not snooze/ignore it as you're just gonna offset your body clock. Has a nice soothing alarm of birds chipping.

Kinda two different things. GoBlu is for light therapy, the Wake Up light is an alarm clock. Depends what you are looking for.

GoBlu is for SAD (Seasonal affective disorder/depression)
The wake up light isn't that useful in the summer as if you have windows facing the sun you'll probabably be waken up by the sun/birds

Don't forget, Marks GC Spend 100 get 20 back (NVM, Can't use until Dec/1)
On top of that, today's additional 20% everything from 5-9 or 10.
^yup, going today........ I'm hoping to stack the 10 dollars off card as well.
I believe the 20 dollar back gift card cannot be spent until December. 20% off, plus 10 bucks off 50 bucks is not bad. If you do the survey on-line, you get a 10 dollars off minimum 40 dollars purchase coupon!
Submit review at:
Mark's Work Wearhouse - Please Enable Javascript (http://www.marks-survey.com)
for your 10 off 40. You need a previous receipt with the info on it (store number, date, etc.)
While you're there, don't forget to get your December 10 dollars off card. Boxing Day sale at Mark's, from what I remember, was awesome!

Whoa thanks MG
Just got back from Mark's under CT on Grandview Hwy and Rupert. I got some smokin' deals. Just for curiosity's sake, I aked them if the gift card promo was still on. Lady there says one more day left, but unfortunately, they ran out of $20.00 bonus cards. BUT...... she says they are giving out $25.00 gift cards instead!
I was like, "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!!"
Unlike the bonus cards, these ones can be used right away (not same transaction). So I used it on other stuff I bought on a separate bill (used my 10 bucks off cards on each transaction to maximize savings). And, I bought a couple more $100.00 gift cards. I mean that's $50 bucks of free money! And, I get all my clothes, work wear, socks (dri wear), and shoes/boots from there, so it's all good.
BTW, they are having another sale two weeks from now - December 8th. It's not store-wide, but 20% off select items. It's their Customer Appreciation Sale. Last sale before Christmas...... I am armed with half a dozen 10 dollar off coupons and all kinds of promo gift cards and whatnot for Boxing Week!
Sorry I couldn't post this earlier, but I was at Price Smart buying more Hon's Pot Stickers. They had the vegetarian type this time around.
If you guys want the $25.00 gift card deal, I suggest you get them first thing Sunday morning. I can't see them getting the $20.00 ones till later on in the day.

If anyone is looking for dinner options for tonight, Papa Johns has 58% off with code HIGHSCORE. Pizza Hut has 50% off code 840.
Papa Johns is a better deal overall though, because the 58% off is taken off the already discounted price of the second pizza.
Papa Johns: First pizza $20, second pizza $10. Total is $30. 58% off that is $12.60.
Pizza Hut: First pizza $20, second pizza $20. Total is $40. 50% off that is $20.00.

Yup........... I go there on Sundays before heading out to other places located east of Burquitlam.
Dollar breakfast, plus free coffee, ftw!
I've met a lot of people there. Some hang out and shoot the bull for a while. Kind of like the breakfast club. Lots of seniors as well as families - some with lots of kids.
I would guess that close to half go there to have breakfast. I check out the "as is" section before heading out.
As for lunch and dinner, I have no idea.
their eggs kind of make me sick though. i wonder if i can ask for no eggs and more potatoes or something
their eggs kind of make me sick though. i wonder if i can ask for no eggs and more potatoes or something
I remember doing that a couple of times, 'cause their eggs are pretty crappy. More potatoes. Too bad not more sausage. BTW, In Seattle, Ikea serves bacon instead of sausages in their dollar breakfast.:fullofwin:
So, I was at the Still Creek McD's this evening planning to get a $20.00 gift card for a co-worker. Before I get to the cashier, I see this 40ish Asian lady with a wad of Big Mac vouchers. Up to this point, I wasn't sure that this location offered the vouchers, but seeing the Asian lady with at least a dozen of them, I was relieved. I ask the chick at the counter for a $20.00 gift card. She tells me they only have 5, 10, and 25 dollar gift cards. I'm like what? So I tell her two tens will do just fine. I pay and she tells me to see the older woman for the vouchers. The older lady asks the chick how many gift cards I purchased. I said two, and she proceeds to give me two vouchers. My quick Asian math skills tell me that this is a good deal. I remember the Asian lady with the 1001 vouchers and it all made sense to me. Frick! 5 dollar gift card = one voucher for a Big Mac!
Not being greedy, I only ask for 5 - 5 dollar gift cards. Older lady asks again how many I purchased. I said five and held up the cards. Older lady tells me she has to go into the office to get more vouchers....... yup, you guessed it, she finds out that I purchased 5 dollar gift cards and tells me I can only have one voucher for all of them. Oh well...........
Maybe some of you other frugal shoppers can try to get away with it, LOL.

Maybe some of you other frugal shoppers can try to get away with it, LOL.
That does sound like a good deal. However, the Big Macs are "small" Macs these days. I'm a big eater so two Big Macs is considered the equivalent of one Big Mac to fill my appetite.

This coupon is only available today and you need to order cards before Wednesday.
Follow and retweet their message about it: https://twitter.com/Jukeboxprint
Then they send you a direct message to order these: Brown Kraft and 100% Recycled Business Cards from Jukeboxprint.com - Available in 18pt, 22pt & 26pt (http://www.jukeboxprint.com/recycled_business_cards.php)
You can go to their site and make a card based on one of their free templates or make your own. I've heard mixed reviews about this company but my old bosses used them to print everything for their restaurant.

Damn it, the Freybe's outlet store on Hastings Street is closing for good at the end of the month.
Were the hell am I going to get cheap sandwich meats now?
MG1 can you share more info about it?
I always drive by and thought it's their plant only and not an actual outlet store.
How are the prices and selection?
The prices are decent to good, but they have a dairy case on the left side as you enter that has stuff on sale.
Great selection of cured and fresh meats. Very clean, too. Their hours are weird, but I go on Saturdays.
For those who want gluten-free stuff, this is the place to go.
The Freybe plant is is Langley in the Gloucester Industrial Park area.

Not sure if this has been posted
But my gf just told me about the "Checkout51" app
There's different deals every week, (for example, $2 rebate on Cracker Barrel cheese)
You simply take a picture of the receipt and send it through the app
Once your rebates hit $20, they send you a cheque.
It adds up fast, and if you think about it... this gives you a better return than most cash-back credit cards!
I lol to myself when a loaf of bread is $2, and the app gives me a rebate of $1.50
There was also a time when a carton of Minute Maid OJ was on sale for $1, and the app gave me $1.50 rebate, so it's like I made 50 cents and got free juice. lol

Every week there's a new list of rebate offers, and it tells you how much you get back on each offer.

so it retails for $200, you can get it for $50 if you use their tab (i'm assuming this is like WIND Tab?). But straight up it will cost $200 with a $100 gift card?

this is koodo tab , so it is similar to wind - you can cancel anytime
last time on boxing week I bought three phones, they let me apply the gift card for the $50 , but not to pay the tab.
but this time, I heard people from RFD said you cannot use the GC for the phone at all.
at least it is RCSS , good for grocery.

Okay, RS gardeners, today is Garden Works' Dawn to Dusk Event. 30% off everything in store. I guess this is to make up for the other 364.25 days of high pices, LOLOLOLOL. If you plan on spending more than $200.00, might as well join their Ardent Club. It costs you $10.00 with annual renewal of 5 bucks. Once a member, you get $25 gift card for spending $200 or more. If you garden, I suppose it's a good deal. Shit (pun intended) is expensive nowadays. Probably why I'm on RS............. It's free here.
I think you have to become a member before purchase. It's a points card.

Arm and Hammer laundry detergent at Superstore = $3.00. That's really cheap, but when I used $3.00 off of two, coupon I got in newspaper flyer, they ended up being $1.50 each. Damn, what a deal! Sale is over tomorrow and only saw a dozen left at Saucy's favourite location this afternoon. There were two pallets of the shit outside earlier this week.

Summit Tools has Bosch L-Boxx 1/2 boxes on sale for $20 I like them better than the DeWalt Tough System or Stanley. They also seem to work quite well with the shelves in Sprinters. Currently upfitting one of those as a mobile workshop.. so kind of obsessed with modular storage solutions.

What's wrong with frozen veggies?
Frozen veggies are the way to go for those who lead busy lives. Not everyone can be a tree hugging, has been hippie, community garden on CPR property gardener, lol.
Nothing wrong with frozen veggies. Especially the nice ones you get at Costco.

everything frozen is always not good compared to fresh variants... but if your running on little time, its very handy.. just boil and done... not cutting, cleaning up...
I have potable hot water tank. Just run it under hot water and it's good to go.

Pretty sure the FDA (albeit in 1998/1999) found that there was essentially no nutritional difference between fresh and frozen veggies.

You really need to define good.
Good for the pocket book? or good for your diet? or good for your palate?
Commercial frozen food is more expensive and limit one's diet to pretty much low fiber content veg eg corn, carrots, brussel sprouts.
However it is convenient, available round the year.. the whole "why McD is relied by low income people" argument all over again.
You don't need to be next to CPR's land to get your own veg. Even UBC now has their own farm that do “Community Shared Agriculture”, you basically pay a subscription for your veg and you get a huge tub of organic seasonal, greens weekly from them deliver right to your door. A lot of farmers market do that, not to mention cow sharing.. $200 for half a cow worth of meat cut for you? that's a heck of a deal.

From what I've read, there isn't a place locally for as cheap as you're describing. $200 will get you less than 1/4.

Frozen peas/corn are fine to mix in a shepherds pie or whatever, but frozen broccoli, cauli etc are nasty IMO. No way to cook them to a proper crunch.
To each their own I suppose.

I shared it with another family. It also depends on the year. There are ALOT of cows and the price depends on which time of the year you get it (supply and demand of the butcher, they usually do each cow seperately). Heck, there are a dozen feral cows on one of my properties that I haven't yet figure out what to do with them yet. They do keep the grass low though.
You basically get the meat fresh, and you do your own aging. That's where the cost comes in anyways.
As for where and how, browse around the farmer markets Trout Lake, Maple Ridge etc I suggest you go with 1 whole one to start and just share / give it away, then you can figure out which parts of the meat you like / want in the future. Last time I experimented with the offals and guts, quite fascinating. You do need those large 80L stock pots to process them.
In town, I think there is a place in North Van that matches people with cows.. a bit too hipster y for me.

Enfamil A+ (12 pack concentrate, 18pack ready to feed) is 44.99 at target on sale....with red card discount (-5%) and 3 dollar off web coupon (on target.ca coupons section) save money off regular price of 49.99. especially good for me since I have twins and go through case and half a week :okay:
I went to Superstore in Coquitlam yesterday in hopes of getting Halloween chocolates for half price. Got there 5 minutes after they opened. Every year, they have chocolates for half price, so I was pretty sure to get them at a pretty good price. And, for those who say the chocolates spoil after a year are full of it. If you store them properly, they stay fresh.
Anyway, I left pretty disappointed........ frugal Asian walks out empty handed. That's okay, that store is going through renovations and they are having problems with their computers. I got a 10 lb bag of flour for free, because it scanned through as the wrong price - win! Oh yeah, they did reduce the chocolates as I was leaving, but only by 30%
I phone the Grandview store this morning to see if chocolates were 50% off and sure enough, they were. And, they had a lot left. When I get to the Coquitlam store, I had dude at customer service scan to see how much they were. Still only 30% off. I told the guy I phoned the Grandview Hwy location and it was 50% off. Dude says, "Yeah, just let the cashier know that I will authorize 50% off of all chocolates." I was okay with that, even though the original price was higher than anywhere else, except Safeway.
I get to till and young girl there says, "Yes, they are half off." I check the bill afterwards and guess what? They took 50% off the sale price. WIN!
120 pieces Coffee Crisp, Kit Kat, Aero box cost me $5.25! That's less than 5¢ a piece fellow frugal Asians.

So you basically got half off the half off! I showed up at Grandview looking for the chocolates. But the original price was $18.xx and sale price was $9.xx.
Yup, they had the chocolates marked down to $10.50 in their system. Chick then gave me another 50% off. I picked the young chick for a reason.......they is pretty dumb. And she wasn't even blonde.
Just last week I had another deal of the week. I was waiting a long time for a 12 volt Fuel Milwaukee 1/4 inch Hex Impact Driver to go on sale. They went on sale at BC Fasteners and Tools last week. Regular price is $179.00 for the kit, which comes with two batteries, a case, and a charger. Not a great deal, but as a bonus, you get a large capacity battery for free.
I go to Home Depot, because they will beat any advertised deal by 10%. Salesguy writes up one of those slips that includes the reduced price. I pick the youngest girl I could find and sure enough, she screws up and gives me a further 10% off.
I was compaining about how people these days can't write worth a shit......... well, they can't read worth a shit, either and I'm good with that. Just hope none of them are doctors, nurses, or pharmacists.
And, it's not just Canadians. I downloaded and printed a coupon for two free tacos at Jack in the Box about three weeks ago. The very first line reads, "with purchase." Guess what? I get two free tacos without buying anything. Not just at one loacation, but three. Pink slime never tasted so good, LOLOLOLOL.

If you want to use a coupon/get a promo, pick the young cashiers cuz they don't care! NEVER go to an old Asian woman.

not completely true, depends on the chocolate. had a year old display stand of chocolate that expired, boss's worst decision to give out free chocolate. no one made it to work the next day.

Yeah, like the cheap waxy chocolates that probably has melamine in it.......
Worse case with the good stuff is when the wafers in the Kit Kats or Coffee Crisps go soggy - not so crisp any more.
Cool dry place.

I'm sure you already know this, but the best price before Halloween is about 10¢ per chocolate. After Halloween, because the 50% off is from the regular price, it's still at least 7.5¢ per.

Well, the Rising Crust part is understandable, as that is what it says on the picture... but what part of "assorted varieties" did they not understand about the milk?
In the past, I know others were able to get substitutes for items that were out.
For example, if it specified a 908g lasagna and it was sold out, some people were allowed to get 2 x 454g lasagnas instead.

What was the reason for cancelling? Price error?
I remember in 2010, LEGO had a 25% off sale on a few high-ticket items on their website. But instead of marking them down by 25% off, the person had put them on 75% off!
Instead of cancelling all of the orders, they actually honoured the price, but put a limit of 2 of each discounted set per person. They sold the extra stock that they recovered by limiting orders at the proper sale price.
That is the righteous way of doing business.
What was the reason for cancelling? Price error?
I remember in 2010, LEGO had a 25% off sale on a few high-ticket items on their website. But instead of marking them down by 25% off, the person had put them on 75% off! Instead of cancelling all of the orders, they actually honoured the price, but put a limit of 1 of each discounted set per person. That is the righteous way of doing business.
Because the fine print said excluding gift cards.
I don't think a company should be liable for a mistake that someone made especially when it will hurt their bottom line. I mean, we all made mistakes and it is only human to do so. Could you imagine losing your job for that one mistake that really hurt no one except for some butthurt RFD deal hunter?

Yeah, they cancelled all the gift card orders because the promotion was never supposed to be live.
This is their official statement:
To our valued customers,
For a period of time on Dec 20th, 2014, BestBuy.ca displayed a $25 online credit with purchase offer in error on product information pages and during the checkout process. Please be advised that this promotion is not valid, as previously indicated. The error has been corrected and the incorrect promotion has been removed.
I'll have to say your Lego example is actually quite different though.
For one, because it's Lego selling their own products, the margin should be very high, so even at 75% off, they may not have been losing money on the sale. For Best Buy, even though it was only 25% off, it was applied even for gift cards, which is more or less equivalent to money. Many of the products Best Buy sells have low margins to begin with, but for certain items that are fairly fixed in price (like iPads, video game consoles, etc), they would essentially be giving 25% off the lowest price of those products, which means they would probably be losing money on those items.
BestBuy actually already did more than they needed to here. They actually honoured all of the product purchases with the $25 off, even though the promo was not supposed to be live at all.
They just cancelled all the orders for gift cards.

No, there actually wasn't really any fine print at all, because the promo was put live erroneously. The only place this promo showed was on the product pages. There was no dedicated page for the promo with the fine print.
But I agree with your sentiment that companies should be protected for honest mistakes as well.

Actually, McDonald's does. I think they started it pretty late this year though. They are giving a free certificate for a large sandwich with the purchase of a $20 gift card.
Other gift card offers here: http://www.revscene.net/forums/699660-2014-restaurant-gift-card-bonuses.html
Most of the McDs I phoned didn't even know about it and the location on Willingdon ran out of vouchers.

I saw it at the drive thru of Kingsway and Victoria a few days ago... that's the only reason I knew about it.
Really seems like it was a last minute decision by McD's this year, for whatever reason.

It could be that some are franchise while others are corporate.
I got a few today at the Willingdon location. They almost sounded like they didn't want to honour it. They make good stocking stuffers, while I get the free Big Macs, LOL.

I was looking through the coupons that came with the local paper and I had to do a double take. That's a good deal. Right up there with the Whopper Junior Meal deal for $3.49 or something like that.
It's fast food coupon season right now. Gotta compete with McD's, I guess.

i just had the bk nuggets over the weekend...i was a bit skeptical at first cus of the low price. There was no wrecking of the toilet afterwards so its legit.
