Green Giant canned vegetables on sale at Walmart for 97¢.

Half price or there abouts.

Canned vegetables expire in three to four years, so good to stock up on. Especially when they go on sale. Walmart is completely out of stock on the Cream Style Corn and Niblets. Maybe some waxed and green beans left, 'cause those are not that great. Frozen or fresh way better.

Anyway, made some corn soup today. Easiest thing to make. Can of Kirkland chicken breast, two containers of Campbell's chicken broth, two cans of Green Giant Cream Style Corn, Lipton's chicken noodle soup mix (as is), Trader Joe's Thai Wheat Noodles, half dozen eggs (swirl). Roasted garlic, seasoning, and that's it. You can substitute or add whatever you have in the pantry. Can't go wrong with corn soup.

What I did, since Walmart was out of stock, was price match at No Frills and Superstore. Didn't bother going to Save-On-Foods. Anyhow.......................

Sale started on Thursday and ends on Wednesday. When price matching, make sure to get the right size. There are two sizes that are very similar.

Mooncake is just something of a Chinese tradition to give out during the lunar festival. TBH, I don't even know who buys/eats them anymore. It's like a full recyclable thing.

I got a box from a client of mine, a rather expensive one from TW. So, I gave it to my folks. The box kinda had a bit of engraving on it because my son was writing his math on a sheet of paper and used the box as his table. It's not noticeable, but it's there if one looks at it close enough or know where to look.

Then my mom gave it to my uncle.

it really is, our floors are sparkling now. We ended up their newer dual bucket one (hiding in the corner of the check out at lowes) instead of the one pictured above.

The dual bucket is significantly better as you are always rinsing with clean water instead of putting the mop back into a dirty water bucket.

I honestly don't get Subway, nobody I know or myself likes going there anymore because their meat quality is so awful, borderline inedible and they're closing locations / struggling a bit... why not spend a bit more as a company on their ingredients and get more customers which would offset those costs.

I mean it's just deplorable when you ask for chicken breast and some rubbery thing shaped like a chicken breast gets pulled out of a steam bin and slapped on. Nasty shit. No reason they can't do what Chipotle and other places do grilling up meats and cutting veggies.

I've always loved Shake Shack personally. If they ever open one here, watch out.

The first time I went to SS was last Oct in San Diego, and it was great. Then I went to the one at Westfield food court and it was shit. I think it would highly depend on the store and how it's run, and also the suppliers they choose.

Even if it did, I have a feeling it doesn't taste the same. Nothing beats the taste of American cheese. Same thing with PandaExpress, the crappy Chinese food here is still way better than crappy Chinese food in the US.

I've been doing a dirty bulk the last few months, and so I would once in awhile get a McDouble + Extra Patty. But then I noticed that a Double Hamburger was cheaper than a McDouble. I didn't need the extra fat/calories from cheese and so I went with Double Hamburger + Extra Patty.

However recently I noticed they raised the price of the Double Ham, and that the McDouble was actually 10 cents cheaper than a Double Ham. So I switched back to the McDouble + Extra Patty lol.

So, there's a Nespresso Boutique in Pacific Centre. I've been going there every now and then. I never drive downtown, because of the traffic. Anyway, the first time I went, I stayed for just over an hour. $15.00. I was a little pissed off, because the website says 5¢/minute. I thought okay, that's not bad. I'm the first asian is the history of mankind that sucks at math........ did I screw up?

Turns out the fucking website is wrong. It's $5 per half hour. The next time I go, it was because I desperately needed a filter for one of my Dyson air purifiers. The Dyson store is in that mall. I'm in and out in under ten minutes. Ticket scanner says no payment needed. I go to David's Tea that's in the mall a week later. Again under ten minutes. No charge. Today, went to pick up some Nespresso capsules. No charge for parking.

If any of you need to do a short stay at Pacific Centre, it looks like the parking is free, as long as under 15 minutes. Damn..........

Know exactly where the shop you want to go and get out ASAP. Scan ticket at one of the scanning devices next to the elevator. That way, you just take the express gates. Don't even have to scan, it detects your ticket somehow and you're out of there. I love one way streets.

Was at my local Safeway. They have a deal for chicken from their deli. A thigh and drumstick for $2.00 Not the greatest chicken, but a buck a piece? The thigh I got was huge! The last time I saw thighs that big was in high school - this Italian chick (that wasn't the only thing big with her). Anyway, they also have a box of wedgie fries for $2.00. Supposed to be medium, but the Kensington Square Safeway gives you the large box. Then, I ask if I can get onion rings instead for that price. Yup, not advertised, but it was $2.00 for the large box. Now, the onion rings are not that great. Not the A&W crispy kind.

Anyway, regular price for the chicken is $4.49 and the onion rings $7.29.

I used to go over to his parents place in the Mount Pleasant area almost daily. Mom was always in the kitchen. We asians aren't into hugging, but the mom was like always happy to see me hugs and almost kissing............. I drew the line at that.Made great food. Mom wouldn't let me leave until I had a bowl or plate of something. A most welcoming place.

even though i have pretty fast internet, the box can lag at times, whether it's live TV or on demand, sometimes making it unwatchable. i'd say it's a good nice to have, got my parents one too, but they haven't cut the cable due to the reliablity factor, but great to supplement with existing services, unless you're OK with the shortfalls

Went to Cactus for anniversary dinner (that's where we met) and deliberately waited for happy hour menu. $12 for a bacon cheeseburger (no sides), $9 for honey creole fries or whatever it's called. Overall cheaper than usual menu of course and we ordered 5 items plus two drinks. Plus tip it was nearly $100. I also deliberately told the server it was our anniversary so he would give us a free dessert (cheesecake or creme brule). i think as long as you're not the type to have upgrade-itis the breville barista express is a good machine for most people. i have several friends that own them and they love them. i would try to opt for the newer version that has the baratza encore esp burrs.. might be slightly better.

Just came back from the Brentwood London Drugs Grand Opening this morning. First 50 people got LD Gift card worth anywhere from $10.00 - $250.00. Also chance to spin and win points, free bag of goodies, free Lee's Donuts and coffee, etc. It opened at 9:00 am, so I went at 7:00 to beat out those old chinese ladies. I was 15th in line. Got my wrist band and was told to come back at or before 8:30. I didn't know about the Visa Gift Card offer. Found out about it from this young girl, who purchased $50.00 worth of beauty products. Old chinese guy says he got one, too. He purchased a $50.00 LD gift card to get the free $25.00 Visa preloaded card. This was about 45 minutes into it. I thought for sure they'd run out, but most people were buying 5-10 bucks worth of stuff. By the time I made it to the self serve, the manager dude had four left. Score!!!!!

$25.00 for $50.00 is damn good. That's 50% off!!!! I buy all kinds of shit at LD, so this was good. Also, did the spin to win and landed on 5000 points. Got parking reimbursed. There's free 3 hour parking just up the side street, but when I came back the second time, all the spots were taken.

As for the store itself, it's modern and very easy to shop. Park anywhere underground, pay, then go up elevators to main floor. It's right across from Starbucks. At the water fountain area.
