Probably Stecher, coach seems to have him at the bottom of the totem pole. Average ice time this year is below 15 mins a game. Willie was giving him 19 a game last year.

Yeah, I totally agree. The cheapest I found was $86 per for nosebleeds in the corner. I'll chalk it up to being the only pro sports team in town that they cn charge whatever? That being said, my BIL was down in Vegas and they were able to score $120 seats for $50 each for inaugural season opener the night of.

The meat and potato guy becomes useless in the SCF when they're up against the skill levels of teams like Tampa and Pittsburgh. Chicago seemed to win cups just fine in the West stressing skill. Nashville and SJ (the last 2 SC West representatives) also follow that trend.

Feel bad for Hutty, he's getting some bad bounces and guilty of some bad reads on D this year... but you can't argue his offensive stats. Yes I realize he has very few actual points and no goals but the Canucks possession time and goals produced stats are very good with him on the ice.

I feel like he maybe just needs a breather and watch a few games for fundamentals.

Takes a long time for a defenceman to mature... if you watch him closely during the games he sees the ice extremely well... his bank passes are at just the right angles on fluid plays, his shoot-ins have just the right amount of weight, he holds the line well.

I'd rather have those types of things already in place and he can learn positioning around the net, reading other team's defensive movements and making safer plays along the boards from the coaching staff.

Benning drafted future power forward Jake Virtanen, an actual local kid, passing on William Nylander, the player who had the most skill when the Canucks picked at No. 6.

Virtanen said for days he relishes pressure. Don’t worry, you’ll get loads of that, along with comparisons to players like Nylander.

While the rumour mill was surrounding the Canucks trading up to 1st overall to draft Reinhart, rumour was that Gradin felt Nylander was the best player in the draft.

Nylander's GM was also Markus Naslund, who had a very high opinion of him.

Some in the media speculated that the Canucks should take Ehlers, but I can't ever recall reading anything about anyone in the Canucks organization seriously pushing for him.

Everything I've read has been about Delorme and Benning targeting Reinhart (if they moved up), Virtanen, and Dal Colle in the 2014 draft.

(It should be noted here that Delorme was actually demoted by Gillis in 2012 in favour of Eric Crawford, who took over amateur scouting in addition to pro scouting and director of player personnel duties for the '12-'13 and '13-'14 seasons before Benning re-instated Delorme when he took over in 2014. Speculation was that Gillis was unhappy with Delorme's assessments and track record as the head of amateur scouting. Crawford, along with Henning and Gilman, were fired in the summer of 2015 reportedly because they often disagreed with Benning, with Trevor Linden insinuating as much in the interviews that followed.)
