Yeah, even when the meter doesn't work like Badhobz has shown, you are still supposed to pay for parking via the mobile app if you were to use the parking space. Otherwise, a bylaw officier can still ticket you, and your claim that you can't feed the meter would not be valid defence.

Something to know for next time.

It’s not vinyl wrap, paint, or Plasti dip. This is new product called liquid wrap! It’s smooth and applied with auto paint equipment, so you can get paint results that peel off.

I opted with the satin/matte finish for thar bmw frozen look!
But the gloss version is sandable like paint. its pretty neat.

instagram is @dipdr he can explain it better since in the beginning i also thought it was plasti dip. haha

I don't know if I'd throw the EK in there quite so much, as in anything other than type R form its pretty unnoticeable, but agreed otherwise, and I definitely think that about so many cars of that early to late 90s design. I'm sure it has lots to do with our age though.

Awesome stuff. Really nice looking car with quality parts. Yes, Mag Blue would look great. Enjoy the ownership as money will mostly be spent on fun stuff and not maintenance/repair stuff like the euro owners seem to endure.

Uh whoops? I went first thing in the morning after someone posted they had DC5 plates, and it was only 2 blocks from my old place. Had the hound the girl a little before she would open the new box, although she pulled out the 24X one and said it was on hold already, not sure why

Did a little wrenching today. I don't usually work on my own cars but when I do I typically get frustrated and pay a professional. Lol. This exercise worked out perfect though. AUX port swap from Nakamichi CD45Z to my Nakamichi CD400. The pangs of wanting new tech while using old electronics for that period correct-ness.

Did the same thing in my Corolla. Instead of a aftermarket headunit, I bought an aux kit off Amazon. Never wrenched on a car in my life.

My radio is an early production model and uses the older style 5+7 pin connector and not the 6+6. Radio model #: 86120-02270.

Tools I used:
10mm socket with extension
Plastic pry tool (screwdriver with tape on the end works too, the point is to not damage the dash trim)
Strong telescopic magnet.

After plugging it in, I snaked the wire behind the dash, into the glovebox and hooked it up to a 3.5mm to BT adapter. Audio quality is way better than an FM transmitter but limited to the OEM 4 speaker system. Overall install was easier than I thought.

Shameless plug: After 7 years of owning this beauty I decided to sell it, I barely drove it less than 10k per year since purchasing it. Third owner, service records dating back to when it was first purchased at the dealership. One of the most reliable cards I've ever driven. I tried to keep it as stock as I could. First EVER auto-x, done. I eventually want to track, but I figure if I'm buying upgrades, I should set a base line, and see the improvements as I go.

Had a pretty shit time, but shaved off 3.5 seconds from my 1st clean run to my last run. Not bad considering I'm a total noob, running winters front and PSS rear, with shot suspension.

Also just got my new summer tires! Gonna test these babies out on the next Auto X (also going to be running the CH full time). Still need suspension, Bilstein's backordered, so I need to decide between H&R Street Performance (I don't like H&R - but height adjustability), BC Racing (8K front; 12k rear - I hear they ride like shit), and just Koni Yellows (I want height adjustability, but these don't ride like shit)

I ran my Continental ECS for the first session at Ridge and they had more grip than I expected. Not sure how they'd do a whole day though. Awesome tires for daily though and my favorite part is their wet grip.

IMO, the Indy 500 are a fantastic value, but grip-wise, they do not compare as favourably as PSS. They could probably wear slower than PSS though.

The Pilot Sport 4S is the successor to the PSS, and this year, it is finally available in more sizes, including many of the popular 17" options. I have not driven on this tire yet, but according to all the reviews I've read, if you liked the PSS, you will like the PS4S even more, esp in the wet.

If the PS4S doesn't have your size, or if you prefer something a bit cheaper while still performing at the PS4S' level, the Continental ExtremeContact Sport is a really good option. Dry grip is excellent, though tests show it lags behind the PS4S by just a hair. Wet grip, on the other hand, is out of this world. (I run this on my DD / autox car, and I absolutely love the tire.)

The Indy 500 is really just a re-badge of the Bridgestone RE003. Bridgestone owns Firestone, and while they sell the RE003 at the international market as RE003, they added the tire to Firestone's portfolio for the N.American market.

@traum yeah I’ve seen a few ps4s come through the shop but haven’t driven on them yet. But for the size I’d be looking at, say 255/35r18 the PSS is about $349 a tire, the Indy 500 is $172, so I could literally get twice as many tires for the price. Hey TouringTeg, I bought the M2 as a DD. I was actually planning on a getting a 2015/16 M4 because I thought it was a better value than a M2. Overall, the M2 is better driver's car than I anticipated. The small footprint, huge torque, and awesome front end grip makes the M2 an awesome squirt and go traffic car. I have 3K km on it now and really appreciate the modified N55 motor. The overall power to weight ratio on the M2 is not that impressive, but in real life, the car is so balanced. With 369 lb ft of torque available at 1500rpms, I noticed taking most turns in 3rd gear is no problem because the torque will pull you out of turns. The turbo lag is so minimal, you barely notice it Vs NA. The car also sounds amazing as well. The steering is quick and direct, but does lack some feel. If you forget about the E92 M3, the M2 feels like a really powerful evolution of an E46 M3. I am personally not a fan of M cars anymore, but the M2 is the only M car that interests me. I will probably get a M2 Comp next. If you forget about the numbers, the M2 from a driving enjoyment perspective is probably one of the best bang for your buck rides available today! Lots of times, I enjoy driving the M2 more than my 991 GTS. It is just so playful!

Cons: some interior materials are really bad plastic, still has trouble putting down the power in tight turns.

^ The M4 GTS has always been an odd duck to me. It is an amazing car, but will always be a compromise because of the base chassis. For $175K, there are just so many cars far superior to it......991 GT3, Audi R8, Mercedes GTS....etc.....

i think my opinion is the same.

but the details behind the GTS.. something a CS or comp pack can't match!

it is a long term investment piece for sure!

Typical Cypress waterfall pic, right before my window regulator decided to shit itself half way down. Why did I buy a German car??? I should have just bought a Honda. Ffs.

E36 cooling still a bit dodgy - took a chance the autotragic zed would still be fun at cones day. Pleasantly surprised! Trans never really got in my way. Pic courtesy of BMWCCBC. :fullofwin:

Note - this event isn't brand or club restricted. Anybody can sign up and join us. Halfpad days with instructors. No timing so insurance is still valid and no helmets needed. I think this is the best intro to the pad before going to a real auto-x day.
