I know I had a big reaction of negativity when it went down and someone criticized me for being ok with throwing away another season and just wait for most of those bad contracts we traded to Arizona to come off the books. Well we ended up not making the playoffs still lol. I didn't know who Connor Garland was at the time of the trade and he definitely softened the blow a little bit but the OEL part of the trade was always nuts for me and is still now. So report card is not good for me anyway.

This is my son's buddy, they've played Lacrosse and Football together through the years. He's now playing for the USA U17 development team, he's pretty decent lets see in a few years if he develops enough to make the jump. He's a big boy, 16 years old 6'3" his dad played for the BC Lions way back when. He was a ridiculously good Lacrosse and Football player as well, he would have easily got a scholarship in either of those sports if he wanted to continue with them, some kids are just built different.

Not making excuses for Boudreau but he’s an offensive minded coach and the team is scoring. It’s no big secret that the team’s defence has been somewhat lacking overall and they’re certainly proving that to be correct.

Starting off 5 games on the road sucks. There were lots of injuries in preseason. They're scoring, that's not a problem. The D is a problem, but we had some combination of 3 of the regular 6 guys injured this whole time. QH's been playing 28 minutes. Miller's not the only forward who needs to be better.

I think they'll figure it out. Having 6 of the next 7 at home will be good for them. Get some practice time in.

Miller has made so many turnovers in six games so far that he can open a bakery selling apple turnovers. LUL

In my opinion, JT is not committed to playing defence.

He makes the stupid and high risk pass in the Canucks zone instead of getting rid of the puck along the side boards.

That bonehead play that Miller made in the game against Columbus of trying to use his skates to tie up the puck in the Canucks zone lead to a turnover and a goal. A prime example of Miller either not wanting or not knowing how to play defence properly.

He is one player that I was hoping that Allvin traded to another team during the off-season in order to help the team’s depth and improve the defensive corps.

I really hate it when people say we need to rebuild or we should blow it up like its the guaranteed way for the team to become contenders. Whats a contender? A team that can realistically win the cup? Well that can be any team playing in the NHL no? Look at the Blues the year they won the cup, they were having a terrible season, basically last in the NHL so there chances of realistically winning the Cup was next to nothing, but they ended up winning it all.

Teams like the Avs and the Lightning took over a decade from there rebuilds to win there cups, and theres teams like the Sabres, Devils who arent even close yet. Oilers drafted first overall how many times? and they drafted the best player on the planet and yet no Cup.

You think guys like Pettersson and Hughes wanna stick around for a "rebuild" Bos already on record saying he doesnt want to do it. IMO you ice the best team possible, create a winning enviroment, draft well. Management has to stop making boneheaded moves like trading all our draft picks away or signing free agents to albatross type contracts and when playoffs comes around. Anything can happen, cause like its been said in previous Canuck Threads. The Stars have to align for a team to win the cup. 2018 Capitals and the 2019 Blues are living proof of that. Theres no guarantees that if you do everything "right" that you will win a cup, but if you do alot of things "wrong" like the Canucks have been doing for the past decade like others teams do aswell ur chances dwindle.

Boeser was the first real feels we had, amazing rookie year and was a finalist for the Calder. EP40m Hughes, and some other guys some of which ended up being a bust but at least there was a mixture of buzz and in some cases actual results that you were seeing. We've been incredibly unlucky with our young players. Boeser looked like a 30-40 goal scorer and then injuries turned him into 20 goal scorer and finished off whatever limited skating ability he once had. Petey injured his wrist and took a full year to recover and you could argue his shot has never recovered. It's got power but his accuracy is off. Hoglander had an incredible rookie year and he can't seem to find his game since. Podz is still a big question mark...

it's only 7 games in. last season's turn around after Bruce came in gave everyone hope and showed that the players had it in them to get it done (make playoffs). asides from the 4th line, the team is basically the same this year. we even got Kuzmenko.

4 of the 7 games lost by 1, 2 of the 7 lost by 2, and only 1 game lost by more than 2. while they definitely didn't play well the first 6 games, the record could still easily have been 2-3-2 or 2-2-3 right now.

Carolina is one of the best teams in the league, and we held off 3-2 without 3 of the regular 6 defensemen, with Burroughs and Brisboise playing 15-18 minutes each. i think they played significantly better than before, despite all the missing players.

It was a great trade, if it works great and we might be able to flip him for more at the end of the season. If it doesn't then its only a 5th round pick so no not really a big deal at all. I'm honestly surprised that's all we had to pay to get him.

Allvin makes a good trade. The team keeps Hoglander instead of previous reports of needing to give away Hogs to get Bear.

A right hand shot defence man is on the team now.


We keep Hogs, and have a Huggie Bear tandem with Hughes and Bear now haha.

Offence was going well in this game. Canucks played a physical game with their body checks against the Penguins.

Surprise, surprise. Pittsburgh is on a three game losing streak during their road trip. Losses to the Canucks, Oilers, and Flames. Then they play rhe Kraken tomorrow.
