Make sure you guys check to see if Milos inside the Cosmopolitan still has their lunch special. It's a 3 course meal for $20.11 and it was hands down, the best deal on lunch

The PH Spice Market buffet was probably the best in terms of quality... Crab Legs :sweetjesus:
Off the trip at the Rio, the buffet is quality isn't as good but the selection was epic, biggest buffet bar I've ever seen!

I was thinking of PriceLine'ing a hotel but I'm worried that I will end up off the strip at Stratosphere or Trump ... which would be a PITA to cab to the strip everyday.

I was thinking of just booking either New York or Monte Carlo, been reading a few reviews, some good, some bad. Any RS'ers have personal experiences with either of these hotels?

stayed at monte carlo last november, its your standard hotel, its fairly old
its not bad if you just want a room to sleep in
fairly clean

Obsideon 01-21-2012 06:28 PM

I've stayed at Treasure Island before and... I was a little bit disappointed ... not sure if it was just my room but all the utilities in the washroom were showing major signs of wear & tear, ripped shower curtain, cracked faucet in the bathtub, the sink faucets were starting to rust. Carpet felt ... old.
Yet TI is pricier than both NYNY and Monte Carlo ... so I'm a little worried heh...

Priceline zone Strip South 5* and you will get Aria. It is the only 5* in that zone.

Priceline zone Strip North 5* and you will get Wynn. It is the only 5* in that zone.

If you do 4*, then it can be more random. I don't recall Bellagio doing any PL deals. I stayed at Aria for $81 a night during Christmas, compared to $149 a night on Expedia. Of course, $20 a night for "resort fee".

Obsideon 01-22-2012 01:13 AM

So if I just have the 2 zones highlighted, even at 4* it won't book me out to Rio/Trump/theHotel, etc right? I was a little confused looking at all the zones ...

You may want to check out the winning bids from betterbidding.com
Priceline - Nevada - Priceline and Hotwire Forum

It looks like Strip North 5* can turn out to be Palazzo and Venetian too.

I am 99% sure that if you do Strip North (zone 7) or Strip South (zone 9), you will land something accordingly with star rating, and not Rio/Trump/theHotel far away from the strip. That would be Strip West (zone 13).

has anyone stayed at imperial palace? how is it? i heard its far from the strip

BlackZRoadster 01-24-2012 07:39 AM

^ imperial palace is right on the strip, good location but very old.

its cheap and old. Nobody even visits that place anymore, its that bad.

Chronix 01-24-2012 07:59 AM

^what about circus circus? if its slightly better. i would take it over imperial palace

Both are pretty much motel-quality rooms, but IP is a great location right in center strip, Circus Circus is at the very end and you'll have to cab everywhere.

If only between those two, go with Imperial Palace, but don't expect much at all in terms of quality. If it's a bunch of guys who just need a place to crash, it's fine. But if you're going with girls (especially if they're high maintenance), they won't be happy with it at all.

Chronix 01-24-2012 08:05 AM

ok ill go with IP then. will the $20 slip work with them? haha

sonick 01-24-2012 08:09 AM

Yes but last time I tried I was only offered "luv tub" suites with single beds, hot tubs and wall-mirrors, which wouldn't work if it's a bunch of dudes lol.

Also, no matter what DO NOT get the Capri suites, that shit is terrible, it's a separate motel-like building behind the casino. Get at least a room in the main building.

BlackZRoadster 01-24-2012 10:21 AM

^ i am always scared of those hot tubs jacuzzi, honeymoon suites..

i always think of the nasty old 60 year old couples screwing in the jacuzzi and jizzing in the tub.

definitely go with IP over circus circus....dont bother doing the $20.

The whole point of staying at IP is to save money. If i had to stay at IP, I would just go back to shower and crash, i wouldnt stay inside so save the money.

Chronix, check out pricing for Bally's. It's cleaner, right in the middle of the strip (not behind, like IP) and attached to Paris. There's nothing special about it except it's cheap, clean and central. Last year my friend's were at IP and it was like a college party atmosphere, reaked of smoke in the rooms, there were blood stains on the carpet and a glass with lipstick was missed by the cleaning lady.

Chronix 01-24-2012 06:24 PM

what do you guys think of the stratosphere? Is it located at the strip? I found a deal where i only pay like $40 more and this hotel seems way better than IP

fliptuner 01-24-2012 06:41 PM

Come on man.....it's the first hit on a google search:

If you like walking and cabbing to get to the action then by all means.

Listen to FT and go with Bally or IP to just nap and shower.

Ch28 01-24-2012 06:53 PM

Location is EVERYTHING in Vegas

If you stay at the Strat then you're going to end up cabbing everywhere because the area outside of Strat is shady as fuck

Chronix 01-24-2012 08:40 PM

just switched from stratosphere to riviera.

Dude, stick with IP or Bally's or Flamingo if you're on a budget. That shit is a far walk. I wouldn't get a place further outside of the Wynn and Planet Hollywood.

The money he "saves" from staying at the Riviera will be spent on taxi rides.

Have fun
