Nice place, a BIT far from center strip but still somewhat walkable.

Is it just me or has the price of airfare increased by at least $100 at allegiant? I was planning on booking my yearly vegas trip in the May long weekend, prices seem to be much higher this year.

fliptuner 04-09-2012 11:20 AM

Overall, yes, but I've been keeping an eye on prices for early June and they've been dropping by about $100 compared to quotes from last month.

Renthal 04-09-2012 11:29 AM

i'm booked for the vdara at the end of may for 3 days with the gf… gunna try the tip at the front desk trick..
apparently I should try for around the 53rd floor facing north for a view of the strip

Obsideon 04-10-2012 02:38 PM

^ Haha that's a pretty specific request for the tip trick ... good luck though!

Allegiant includes all taxes in the prices that you see up front now (not including the new carry-on baggage fees).

How is the weather there? Morning / Afternoon / Night

Havne't been back for almost a year now, last time when I was there in May it was hot(high 20s low 30s) during the days and cool at night. I suggest to bring a light jacket or a blazer just on the safe side.

I've been in mid November, in the shade you definitely need a medium thickness jacket. I think it was about low 10's celsius.

jing 04-15-2012 02:15 PM

Planning on flying Allegiant from Bellingham and staying at Aria for a few days from May 14.

parm104 04-15-2012 08:44 PM

Heading out on the 10th of May...Wondering how much cash do you guys think I'll need to take with me? Keep in mind, I won't be spending any money on alcohol but will still be going out every night I believe to clubs and lounges.

ShadowBun 04-15-2012 08:47 PM

just cover etc
200/night to be safe

jing 04-16-2012 09:04 PM

How much will a taxi ride cost from the airport to the strip? Aria to be exact...

shawnly1000 04-16-2012 09:21 PM

Should be about $14-$16 according to this site Taxicab Authority - Fares and Fees..

I was down there in Dec during that huge snowstorm we had in 2008. It was actually snowing in vegas while I was there, but we managed with just our suits. A bit chilly, but not extremely cold.

miss_crayon 04-23-2012 03:41 PM

Gf managed to find us a good deal with flights, $300 round trip (leaving from bellingham but flying back to Vancouver).

ShadowBun 04-23-2012 04:44 PM

^ including hotel?

I just booked my flight for the may long weekend from the friday- monday. 850 bux .... Could have went with Allegiant but they came to 500 dollars with check in baggage charge .... and the cost of parking my car their just made me go the other route, since I'm going to be on a tight schedule right after work to get to the airport.
:fuuuuu:

Obsideon 04-24-2012 04:57 PM

Which hotel??

To save money make sure you tell the driver to take surface streets only. Some drivers will "scam" you and take the highway and it's frustrating because your sitting there driving by your hotel and your like wtf and you see yourself gettting further and he then does a loop back into the strip. I mean it's not like the difference in money is double or anything but it could get pretty annoying sometimes. Actually that's not true if you hit a bit of a traffic jam it could potentially double. The airport to the strip via surface streets is super close.

No hotel... 850 dollars is just airfare flying from YVR Friday May , 18th and coming back on the 21st. Staying at my timeshare @ the Grandview, might as well put it to good use since I'm being raped in the cost of the airfare.

jing 04-25-2012 09:18 PM

I'm already booked for Aria, but what would you guys do?

1. Stay at Aria where the price has gone up almost $150 from what I have it booked for
2. Cosmo for $15 cheaper
3. Vdara for $30 cheaper
