^^^ yah. I had another trade shorting aapl midday. Got too greedy. 1000$ profit became 1200$ loss. Oh well.

Apple

RIP Steve Jobs

Stock halted

Damnn, day after their iPhone 4S announcement too

This is definitely gonna be interesting for the short-term/long-term picture for AAPL

3klipze 10-05-2011 04:21 PM

RIP.

AAPL outlooks shouldn't be that bad compared to its competitors. (long and short term)

Anywords on how long the halt gonna be?

shawnly1000 10-05-2011 09:00 PM

I think it was just meant for today's after hours session, should unhalted and trading tmw at premarket

lime56 10-05-2011 09:20 PM

man.. i hope eu is doing something meaningful

dont want this aapl media storm overshadowing the markets

here's a spin.. if the market tanks.. they just blame it on aapl story and it taking the tech sector down and the mkts down,

when in essence, something is f'd up in euro or the global economy

reminder... jobs numbers this week ppl!!! hopefully one more short covering rally tomorrow before friday

Sky_High 10-05-2011 10:40 PM

Thoughts on how the market will look for AAPL tmr?

TRDood 10-05-2011 10:42 PM

if it starts slightly under/flat or up.. wait an hour and see if it trends down..
follow the trend for short

if it gaps down big at opening .. look for entry point for reversal intraday

the options expiration date coming (weekly) puts the stock in action

i threw in my money at yhoo though

you should be a confident enough trader that exchange rates shouldn't bother you, unless you're exchanging a massive amount.

Seems like a cyclical trend with this company since April.
April- High 2.69 then drops to 2.31 with subsequent rebound to 2.59
May- Dips down to 1.98 with rebound to 2.29
June- Dips back to 1.91 with rebound up to 2.16
July- Dip to 1.60 with rebound to 1.99
August- Dip to 1.30 with rebound to 1.75
September/October - we just saw it dip to a low of 0.90cents.. rebound is happening right now.. with a lower dip to come in my opinion. Good time to get out probably about now.

In addition.. just based on doing some stockhouse third-hand research, It seems like most buy-outs happen to producing company's.. with CUU being just an exploration company I don't know how good the chances of this buy out really are..

[edit: and also.. wrt the titan.. every news release that has been 'good' has also resulted in a major selling of this stock.. the value of the company seems to go up on the anticipation of the news, but it goes down even on good results. end /edit]

disclaimer:
- past performance is not indicative of future results
- I have no financial training etc. so anything I say can be crap for all I know
- This is just my opinion so don't sell you're stock thinking I'm right only to shit on me when it hits the 8$ target some of you are waiting for

I see FAZ ETF fell well below 60 in late trading. Can you explain what factors affect this ETF?

no_clue 10-06-2011 12:07 PM

wonder how long this rally would go for...
bought minor stock in F @ 9.18 but still have the majority in cash.

Last I checked, Greece is still up in the air

strykn 10-06-2011 12:20 PM

Got in @ 59, very small position, tight stop

AME VIP, if banks up up FAZ goes down, its the financial bear , and same goes vice versa

xpl0sive 10-06-2011 12:23 PM

hmm i wonder when i should sell CUU. i bought in at 1.79 hoping for it to go back to 2.00... never happened... it closed today at 1.40, so i've recovered a lot of my losses. but i'm still down a lot. and tomorrow is friday already... i think if it hits 1.50 tomorrow i'll sell and cut my losses... i too think it'll dip back down
