July 18th/2009 Okanagan fire, was out on the boat in the afternoon with buddy Colin AKA ColinK, and dark smokes covered the bright sunny day. These shots were taken at about 12:30am the 19th on the other side of the lake. Wind speed was about 25km/h causing my tripod to vibrate during shots.

^ Cool shot!

Soundy 07-19-2009 12:44 AM

Not so cool if you live in Westbank!

First one is killer. Other two a little bland. All could use some curves adjustments. Nice shots tho!

Just a couple from the trip. No post, just straight from the camera.

Sick shots hyperREV , that fire caused us to go up to kamloops from silver star . we could see white smoke but not epic fire-y smoke like that...

Senna4ever 07-21-2009 02:21 AM

Shit, we were going to go to the Okanagan for the long weekend. :( All the hotels must be booked up in Kelowna. I feel sorry for the folks who lost their homes.

Just got back from picture taking around False Creek, Gastown and Stanley Park. C&C is welcome as I don't normally take pictures at night. Yes I know some of the horizon's are off and I'm working to fix those, but these are some pics I wanted to edit quick and show you guys. :)

Sharp and not a lot of noise. Could be because they're so small. What camera are you using?

!Nhan 07-21-2009 01:11 PM

D60. There was a lot of noise before I adjusted anything from lightroom, and ISO was only at 100 as well.

Boostslut 07-21-2009 01:14 PM

!nhan, i like the second one a lot. I'd prefer to see more tho, maybe panorama style?

6,000 of the 11,000 evacuees were allowed to go home today. Latest unofficial word is only three homes lost (two of them belong to employees of the nearby mill, while they were fighting to protect the mill), and a dozen or so "structures" (which could be barns, garages, woodsheds, outhouses, even motorhomes).

I don't really like donig panorama shots lol. I can never seem to line anything up right haha.

And what I meant to say earlier, was that I was using ISO100 so there wasn't that much noise in the picutres.

IMASA 07-22-2009 05:39 AM

If you have Photoshop, pano's are really easy.
