thanks,
i wanted to bring out the intense colors of the leaves and i might have gotten a little bit carried away. Haha

I asked because when people post process on a non-calibrated monitor that doesn't have a very wide gamut they tend to boost the saturation, but on a calibrated monitor that was a wider gamut the images look very saturated. :)

Nice pics RCubed, very surreal. I normally don't like highly photoshopped pics, but those have a different feel to them.

You guys have such nice scenery to take pictures of out there in Vancouver! Everything around here looks so dead and drab most of the year unless you go to the vineyards and orchards, and you can only take so many pics of those before you get bored.

RCubed, the sun seems to strong at 12-3 pm. Try shooting in the shade or a little past 4 now to get better light

niforpix 11-03-2009 06:02 AM

Shot with 7D and a 15-85mm IS kit lens. I can't believe how freakin' sharp that lens it!

^wow, that's pretty damn sharp! much better than the crappy 17-85 kit lens my 50D comes with.

nice pussy pics

niforpix 11-03-2009 05:59 PM

^^ thanks!

It's much, much better. The build quality beats 17-85 by far. This lens is definately worth the money.

how does it compare in terms of IQ to the Canon 17-55 EF-S?

i just don't like the price of those lenses for some reason...seems very expensive for non-L build... :S

I'm not sure to be honest. I've never used the 17-55, but buddy at work (who knows anything and everything when it comes to DSLRs, etc), says that this lens is super sharp, sharper than his 24mm F1.4 L. He even bought the lens himself. And this is a guy who uses mainly primes and has been doing this for ages. So that tells you something about the lens :)
