I've driven up to pemberton in December before when there were 3-4 inches of snow before whistler, the aventador barely sits that off the ground, really great car for that route..

The camo may be tacky, but the fact that he/she actually takes it up to the mountains is pretty badass. The wrap is also a great way to protect the paint from salt, ice, and rocks. Peel it off in the spring and you're golden.

I drove my slammed gti, which was lower than that up to baker, across the interior and whistler on the regular with snow tires. Sea to sky is hardly a tough drive even in the worst of conditions it sees. I agree the car looks like shit with that wrap, but it seems like you are trying a bit hard to paint the owner with the idiot brush.

Kidnapman 12-04-2013 08:08 PM

I don't think that's what Hondaracer is arguing. Surely a guy that can afford an Aventador could afford to have a Range Rover as a beater for bumpy terrain such as snow. Cause I don't really see the point in bringing an aventador up the mountain, ain't really its natural habitat if you know what I mean.

nabs 12-04-2013 08:22 PM

You guys are looking too far into it, I think he did it just for fun because he can. I don't think he plans on driving that thing skiing.

Think about how many people get roof racks just because it looks cool.

boostfever 12-04-2013 08:28 PM

Hondaracer be mad.

.......until you look under the car

I'll repeat myself; if I could afford to take a Lambo up to Whistler as my "utility" vehicle, you can be sure that I will. It's like asking, "why lower your car to the point of barely being able to drive on city streets?" "Cuz, it's cool and looks fucking awesome."

Would a Range Rover be more efficient? Yes. Would it be as bad ass? No. Is it still, as meme405 says, safer than the majority of cars that go up the S2S? Yes. Just because this car can rock yours on pavement doesn't mean it isn't safe in the snow.

If you enjoy driving your car, and don't really give a fuck about what snow and salt will do to it, I don't see the point of not doing it. Give it a car wash when you are done, and don't drive like a dink. If I had a 997 turbo or some other high hp AWD fun car you can be sure I'd be driving it with a roofrack on up to whistler, just because I wanted to.

?

The owner can do whatever the fuck he wants with his car. Sure he wrapped it a retarded looking way, and it deserves to be in this thread.

But to bag on him for not buying a different car just so he doesn't go out and enjoy a car he paid 400K for is just you guy being ridiculous. Its his car leave him be.

Kidnapman 12-05-2013 04:17 PM

Well... Guess these things can't be explained. We live in 2 different worlds where our ideas of "good" is different. No more talk of the Aventador plz. Moving on :toot:

That is on my bucket list for sure, to be able to go to their winter driving school. 911 on 4 winter tires that you get to wail around a snow track? Fuck yeah.

Slightly offtopic,

but the whole debate of driving a supercar in the winter or not just shows our fucked up values, doesn't it?

We spend our whole lives saving/anticipating/preparing for days that may or may not come, so much so that we forget to take advantage of the days we actually have.

I know its part of the joke, but the day we start using hashtags on RS is the day I give up on humanity.

I remember when people used to use them on FB before they actually did anything and I used to just think they were retarded.

SolidPenguin 12-06-2013 06:57 PM

Both cars are AWD. Get some snowies on, and youre good. If i was rich I'd do exactly what Jon Olsson did with his Lambo and R8
