there can be a happy medium though, my car for example! i stuffed 9" wide wheels with 10mm spacers "for clearance of suspension components"

1.5 degrees camber up front, 3 in the rear, the tires do have a stretch cuz i couldnt fit a wider tire in there, but still plenty of meat.. the wheels have mm's of clearance between trailing arms/knuckles and mm's of clearance between fender and tire..

edited.. everyone needs to put their dicks away

Chun~ 01-10-2014 11:13 AM

did you mix up the front and rear camber? i hope it was

snails 01-10-2014 11:21 AM

nope, 1.5 front and 3 in rear! 1-2 degrees is ideal from most cornering, but i couldnt pull 2 in the reat without some rubbing and i wasnt going to go with a skinnier tire

This. There are plenty of stanceboi's that make cars look like shit, and plenty that make it look awesome. The super extreme camber at like 7 degrees with bacon wave fenders and 195s on a 17x10.5? Yeah thats pretty terrible. But there are still lots of steps below that in the "stance" scene that look good.

I am fine with Stance look or the poke look whatever you want to call it but I can't stand seeing function being killed on sportscars. I mean camber out and slammed vip cool whatever but why do that to a Supra or a STi? I mean arent those cars meant to be driven?

either way just my pov

Snail said his car is one of the best handling car on this whole forum. More -ve camber in the back than the front isn't exactly what you want on a front heavy FF car, no I'm not kidding

Rdk1 01-10-2014 04:53 PM

You're kidding me right...
What kind of alignment is that on an FF car?

Why are you trying to give more grip to the rear wheels when your car understeers?

This. From a cosmetic standpoint cars that are lowered and "stanced" just enough to give them that aggressive look, (in my opinion) look 100x better than the cars that are slammed on a billion degrees of camber with a 215 on a 10" wide wheel. Not to mention i think we know what's slightly more useful...

Rdk1 01-11-2014 12:34 PM

too much camber is downright dangerrroussss, especially in the rain.
saw a few cars in vancouver that are driving on sidewalls...

although I do run almost 3 degrees neg camber myself. . .

but why hate on someone if the car will be strictly for the road. 95% of the members here havnt seen the track once, ive only seen a small handful out of a Tim Hortons parking lot and at autox, mission road course or the quarter mile...

what bothers me is when people try to make their car look like race car "harnesses, diffusers, huge wings, cages" but they have 0 interest in seeing what their car is capable of... its kinda like seeing these hellaflush guys going on a track.. its just silly

look at that poke ;) battle stance people!

You have the camber set up backwards. I'm running 15x9 +26 and running -3* and 15x8 +36 w/ -2.2* in the rear. So I really don't think you have one of the best 'handling' cars on either REVscene or any civic forum, or even close to anyone in the PNW in terms of 'track car'.

Which club do you usually go with for track events?

There's no way you race your car.

I've never seen you at an SCCBC event or any CACC event before.

I think the term you're looking for is tracking or lapping your car. In which case I can't recall seeing you out at Mission or any other track in the PNW (pacific northwest)

We like 4th gen Civics and even if I wasn't there myself, others would have surely snapped a pic of your car on track by now.

There's no way your car would handle well on track either with those alignment settings.
