driving in a straight line =/= handling.

slowguy = automatic lover = doesn't know what he's talking about aka old man

!Kodamu 01-13-2014 08:31 AM

Snails is the the other 1% that the evo guy is talking about. He tracks his car.

Lol this reminds me of the guy saying he could beat anyone on Rs then stuck his evo into a wall a week later.

Wants function but does it wrong, wants to look good but does it wrong too.

"Track-Style" at it again

snails 01-13-2014 09:34 AM

the car gets drag raced yes, its been on mission road course once last year and was really well balanced, nothing for understeer and very little oversteer. and the wasnt ready in time for the last autox event cuz my transmission blew up

this weekend its going up to Ashcroft for ice racing and will be ready for autox this year..

so lets hear about everyone elses dailys that they track?

so i stand by my comment "there can be a happy medium"

ps, all cars suspension, camber, toe, and caster can be tuned different based on the balance of the car, wheel width, tires.. so many variables, to say mine is wrong without seeing how the car performs is a little silly, im sure "racecars" have better setups and this will need to be tuned more in the future but this is a daily driver as its main function it handles pretty damn good

Yes please we would love you hear about your track vehicles, but not in this thread. Feel free to make another thread in the automotive section to talk about track oriented cars.

Keep in mind every time you post your car in this thread you are further associating your car with the HoS...

Define well balanced. Everything will be well balanced if drive under limit. Stop saying your car is well balance, or one of the best handling in this forum until you have prove of lap time to back your statement. There are a lot of fast car/driver package in this forum. They just don’t post anymore.

who cares people, so much butt hurt
moving on

lowside67 01-13-2014 12:28 PM

Here's my old Civic with some documented results, we ran -2.5F -1.5R.

As a guy who has had a little seat time in a ton of different cars from stock to prepped, I absolutely cannot see any situation where your alignment is even close to ideal. There are tons of modified EFs running street tires and they all run -2.5ish front and -1 to -1.5 rear on 15x7.5s with 195s and I guarantee they will murder your car around something like an autocross course to test the handling...

You will find whats understeer on ice-x

snails 01-13-2014 12:32 PM

Your car is not even close to "best".

Best usually means the top 5%. You need to redefine your meaning of "best".

No. I'm the best.

as goes for handling im sure its one of the best handing cars on this whole forum and i do race the car.. im not saying the best.. just one of them ;)

but why hate on someone if the car will be strictly for the road. 95% of the members here havnt seen the track once, ive only seen a small handful out of a Tim Hortons parking lot and at autox, mission road course or the quarter mile...

what bothers me is when people try to make their car look like race car "harnesses, diffusers, huge wings, cages" but they have 0 interest in seeing what their car is capable of... its kinda like seeing these hellaflush guys going on a track.. its just silly

look at that poke ;) battle stance people!

1. Snails claims to have one of the best handling fwd's in r.s. which basically is the whole bc car community

2. 1 trackday involving rtr that isn't really track day more like a track tour and doing 2 drag racing events and saying that your car handles like its on rails ?

3. take advice from the guys who's been doing things longer than he has. everyone starts somewhere but no body likes an asshole

4. he's the one butt hurt telling people they are butt hurt when everyones merely questioning as to why he would run such a ridiculous set up on a fwd vehicle.

and 5. come to any ubcscc, vcmc event. Everyone who drives their cars to the track use it for going to work school and picking up groceries so don't feel like a hero driving your car to 3 events.

claimed to have one of the better handling cars on the forum, even threw a ;) face in to be cheeky, the butt hurt flows when everyone gets their panties in a knot, i didnt argue with a single person about their experience and most will agree that the majority of members haven't had their cars even close to a track.. also ive drag raced my car many more than 2x.. you just guessing dosnt mean anything...

i will admit that im frustrated that so many people are so worked up.. but its RS.. my statement that there can be a happy medium of form+function really upset a few people :D

go back and re read my original post a few times, note how i meantioned that my camber isnt optimal, and neither is my tire width but i have to make due with my clearance..

also and ill quote

just trying to see what my daily is capable of, not throwing a bunch of shit on my car and calling it a racecar.

ps you track setup looks good now stfu :fullofwin:
