I miss my HTC Touch :'(

+Kardboard+ 08-28-2007 04:52 PM

It just screams, "TOUCH MEEEE!"

OK, sorry, I couldn't resist. :D How's entering text on it? I haven't had good experiences with using non-keyboarded WinMo devices. Oh, and there's an iPhone keyboard out for WinMo too...behaves EXACTLY like the iPhone one, not just a skin.

!Yaminashi 08-28-2007 04:54 PM

I hate non keyboarded phones..
just because the keys are just too damn small when theyre virtual keyboards..

+Kardboard+ 08-28-2007 05:00 PM

The iPhone one isn't actually too too bad, and after 20 min of MSNing the first day I got it I'm pretty good at it.

Here's the iPhone keyboard for WinMo I was blabbering about for anyone who's curious:

um.. lol.. the actual virtual keyboard is bad! its like the one on Ming.. ye i downloaded the apple like keyboard! and i really like it.. i still makes mistakes on typing but not a bigdeal.. so far im really liking the touch! the touchflo is really impressive. the stanby screen is cluttered but i like it. weird. only gripe is .. its slowed down once i open more than 6 application.. >.< damn that oudated 201mhz!

+Kardboard+ 08-28-2007 05:03 PM

At least it's 1 better than 200...hahaha

And I though the TyTN was already slow at 400...hahah

Are you using the original HTC Home plugin or the HTC Kaiser one?

JKam 08-28-2007 05:03 PM

man htc is coming out with some nice stuff now... makes me want to go back and give them another chance haha

albert116 08-28-2007 05:08 PM

yeah, that 200 mhz cpu

my last windows mobile phone was the dopod 818 pro with the 200mhz cpu...that thing was really slow.

Only used it briefly, but you get the audio tab where you can control the music and the ringer tab to turn it to silent, etc. Poke around xda-developers and I'm sure you'll be able to find the CAB file where you can just install on to your Touch and then go to Start>>Settings>>Today and turn off the "HTC Home" that's checked and check the other "HTC Home"...I think that's the case.

I did it on a TyTN, so it's slightly different as my WinMo6 version didn't come with the HTC Home plugin pre-installed.

- 30 GB HDD drive
- 1.2 GHz VIA CPU

THATS INSANE. like a mini computer!!! anyone know the release date...? LOL

edit**
nevermind it is a mini computer.. it runs on vista business version ahha

+Kardboard+ 08-29-2007 09:33 AM

It runs both WinMo6 Pro AND Vista Business. The first if you want it to last really long, the other for sheer pow-waaaaah... :D

!Aznboi128 08-29-2007 09:20 PM

lol yea its really smth but its quite big...

+Kardboard+ 08-29-2007 11:12 PM

haha no need to imagine.

This is the HTC Athena/Advantage superphonething, which is smaller than the Shift but has a similar form factor...

And the Shift is bigger...:D

RR33 08-30-2007 04:02 PM

+Kardboard+ 08-30-2007 04:03 PM

And a phone too, although it's meant more to be used with a headset.
