^^Just buy from an Authorized dealer so your warranty gets honored.

dogeatcookie 06-03-2008 09:26 AM

don't ever buy a watch online. save the hassle of *EVERYTHING* and spend alittle more to get alot more confidence in what your buying.
Doesn't apply to casio/swatch watches

any trusted website that sells all kinds of watches?

Tourneau, specific brand boutique stores, etc. They're not "online" per se but you can order and have the watch sent to you. I ordered one of my Panerai from the Panerai Beverly Hills Boutique store and my IWC and Ulysse Nardin from Roman Times in Caesar's Palace. Both stores shipped without issues.

I got a free strap, keychain and some books from them...

http://www.encompass-tech.com/photogallery/DPP_0008.JPG

WRT straps, I ordered from the vendors mentioned in Paneristi.com. Got a couple from Strap Culture (HK) and one from Greg Stevens Design. Need to get a Simona blue gator and a Gregoire ammo (w/ that cool anchor buckle).

That 233 is so tempting...but currently, I'm really going nuts for one of these:

- Breguet Reveil du Tsar
- AP Royal Oak Offshore (whiteface rubberclad or Alinghi or Shaq)
- Ulysse Nardin Sonata.

So many nice timepieces...so little $$$. LOL.

BTW, where did you get the 233 from (if you don't mind me asking)?

Cheers,
-H

oh btw are there any good places to get straps around here?

im actually glad i went 233. i should have just decided on that one back then. maybe i wouldnt be waiting so long. the more i look at the 270 the more the number 9 on the face bugs me. kind of wrecks the balance on the watch and makes that left side all cluttered. also the 10 day fang will rarely move if u wear it often. i just hope manual winding every week or so does not become annoying hehe.

the AP ROO is quite nice, i think thats gotta be the next one on the list. go for it! hehe

Agree 100%. But no diamonds regardless. And gold is for casual, silver/platinum for formal evenings.

Of course a true gentleman must learn how to tie a bow tie:

And must learn how to do the tie dimple:

http://imperialhotelmanagementcolleg...tying-tie.html

The colour of the watch leather strap must match with the colour of the belt and the shoes.

Regarding watches when matching with ones outfit, remember:

1. Leather strap watches are more formal.
2. The thinner the watch, the more formal, vice versa.
3. Sports watches and suits don't match.

Breitling timepieces are beautiful works of art. Handcrafted and made in Switzerland.

Hey guys, trying to decide between two watches here
tell me what you think

The Citizen is roughly $1000-1500 and the TAG is $2250-3000

If you're going to spend over $500 for a watch, it better be swiss made.
